Avid Pro Tools HD v10.3.2 for Windows with Avid Virtual Instruments 10 for Windows | 4.31 GB
+ PACE iLok drivers x64 + Patch (beta 10) mukundas

Whether you create music or sound for picture, the right tools can help you achieve the highest quality mixes faster. Pro Tools 10 is the next generation of the best sounding, most widely-used audio production software in the industry, enabling you to record, compose, edit, and mix with great speed and ease.

New features

Note: In Windows 7 x64, if you're experimenting an "Error, missing ilok authorization for pro Tools 10. please insert the necessary ilok and restart Pro Tools" make sure iLok drivers actually install, mine would not install over my old iLok drivers, solved it by doing this:
a) From Windows' Add or Remove Programs feature, uninstall any listing of "License Support" and "Interlok driver setup"
b) Reboot the system
c) Disconnect any iLoks connected to the system
d) Run and install Tpkdx64Setup.exe file found in the Drivers folder of the "PACE ILOK drivers installx64.zip" or the installx64.zip file linked here >> http://www.paceap.com/extensions/installers/x64/installx64.zip
It is very important that no anti-virus (especially Kaspersky) is running.
e) Restart the computer
f) Install LicenseSupportSetup64.exe file found in the Components folder of the installx64.zip file linked above. Again, make sure no anti-virus or internet monitoring software is running.
g) Restart the computer
For Windows 8 (I have not tried this but others have had success with this solution):
If you get error -9514, go to the unzipped Pro Tools installation folder, then Pro Tools Installer>ISSetupPrerequisites and install Avid Core Runtime, Avid HD Driver x64 and DigiDriver x64. Then run Pro Tools as administrator.

hope this helps !!

Sounds a bit adventurous, but if it works, why not ?

I've been working with JustTrying v5 for nearly a week now, and I haven't had one single error. So if you get any errors, you will be best off re-installing I think.

I think I have no problems with Waves anymore, the localization must have done it!

thanks again have_a_cigar!

Now, if only I could solve the problem with Altiverb...
I can't overwrite automation preset indexes... It just goes back to the previously saved.

bummer

Thanks have_a_cigar

In one day of testing, still no error or problem, I even used the Strip Silence function, and had no errors. But yeah, at the firsto problem or error I will re-install. Thanks for the help.

Ashwalk:

That waves thing is very silly ! Good if you know it !
(Compressing at a ratio of -1000:1 could be interesting though, probably have to smoke a bit of Popeye's spinach to make the results audible !)

I'm not too clever with Altiverb, but this might be interesting and the subject is mentioned in this pdf too.

pro tools 10:

Try 10.3.1 - v7patch - justtrying v5. Both patches are compiled for 10.3.0, but for some people 10.3.1 or 10.3.2 are working better with them.

Just registered to comment in this topic :)

A couple of weeks ago I tried the 10.3.0 with JustTrying's modded .dll, worked fine, got some errors once in a while but was usable overall ..However I did switched back to my legit copy of PT 9 because I felt it was more stable.

So today I just made another install of Windows 7/X64 on another partition on my harddrive to install Protools 10 so that I could switch between PT9 & PT10.

But got just 1 question: I installed PT 9 on my C: partition, and would like to install PT10 on my new windows7 installation on my D: partition.
Is it still possible to run the TeamVR's Patch (and JustTrying's) on the D: partition? Or does this patch looks for files on the C: drive ? In that case it will mess up my PT9 installation I guess..

If this works you could run 2 versions alongside each other in this way, to test new releases for example..

tnx to everbody contributing here!

cheers

midi-man,

You don't want the Beta 10 patch!!! The only way to make this work correctly is:

Pro Tools 10.3.0
Team VR's (beta7) patch
JustTrying's V5 patch

The ILOK drivers can be downloaded from PACE's website for free!

This is the ONLY way to do it without errors!

Insteresting links, I didn't know it was common practice to work with Altiverb the way I do. But they don't seem to have that automation preset index problem...

I found a solution, though, in case someone else encounters this: create your reverb, then, instead of trying to overwrite the preset in the automation preset index, just delete it (with the trashbin button) and click in it, writing a new one. It wont revert to the previous one this way.

Now, I still have frequent system crashes. It's impossible to work this way, it happens every 20 minutes or so, only hard reset works.
Can anyone confirm that this is NOT related to Waves? Because I have no other problem with Waves now...

(This is with PT10.3.0, VR patch and JustTrying's v5)

Should I try JustTrying's patch with 10.3.1 or 10.3.2 to see if it works better? At some point I was using 10.3.2 with few error messages, but no crash. (I tried so many variations now, I can't remember which one worked...)

thanks again forum.

Mascarponi
It doesn't help having 2 partitions if it's the same OS, PT installation will detect the current installation (regardless of the drive or partition) and, depending on the situation, it will ask you to uninstall it before installing the new one, or telling you the current is newer, or even just failing.

Bummer.

Lunchbox was right in that you would not need to hard-reset, if you just start Task Manager (right-click the taskbar or press Ctrl-Shift-Esc) and end ProTools.exe on the process tab.

In case of complete crashes, remember the advice of another user, to assign one less processor than your computer has to the ProTools.exe process. ProTools is a beast that at times can be difficult to tame.

ashwalk,

Hi Ashwalk,
I installed 2 different versions of windows 7 on two different partitions..
That means that when i boot up Windows installation 1 it won't see programs on Windows Installation 2..these are 2 different 'computers' almost (in the same box). (Dualboot).

I can't really believe that PT sees the installation on the other partition, but maybe you're right..i'll try it out one of these days..
tnx anyway.

JustTrying

in my case it's a complete crash, no way around it. Mouse is dead, caps/num lock won't change states in keyboard led...
Task Manager doesn't work, nothing works anymore. It's like a BSOD without the actual blue screen...

Mascarponi

I didn't realize you had 2 Windows installed. In this case, it works, I have seen people doing that a lot. One studio I used to work at, has, to this day, one drive with a Win ME and PT 5 (yes, five!) in one partition, and WinXP + PT 7 in anotha.

ashwalk,
sorry, but at this point you cant blame the patch. more like it's your computer config/pro tools itself.

pro tools 10,
you probably have something wrong with your system too.

PT9 legit
PT10 TeamVR + JustTryings patch. (tnx!)

Works perfect, will keep on testing..

system freeze - hard reset only. no good for me.

10.3.0 - v7patch - justtrying v5. :(

any advice ?

C'mon folks, this is not good enough ! My refrigerator freezes too ! So what ?

If you want some help, then please be a bit more specific !
I think there are a lot of people here with plenty of computer knowledge who are willing to help ! Knowledge is useless if not shared ! If you don't ask a specific question or give information about what's going wrong, I think other users are just going to ignore you.

I don't want to teach or preach, I just feel sorry for people who really want to get something to work and don't know what to try next.

ASHWALK: I can't confirm that it's a wave's problem because I've only tried out the wave's plugs that I use on a regular basis. Could you tell me which ones you use a lot, and I will try them too! I can say that these are working alright for me:

CLA-2, CLA-3, CLA-76, Maxbass, Vocal Rider, Bass Rider, and the maximizers.

Maybe you should give us a bit of hardware information too, because erratic freezes that take down the whole system usually point to hardware problems.

pro tools 10: Tell us a bit more about it.

Let's work together !!!

PTPatty,

Thanks for the info and help.

I can not get the pace ilock to install on windows 7 x 64.
I click on it and that is all it will do not even in task manager. This is weird.

Program installed fine, but every time I try to run it it says missing ilok device.

Yes I know I tried to install the ILok patch but that is the problem I click on it and it will not install.

Sorry if there are typos here.

midi-man, Just wanted to make sure you were installing this:
http://sw.ilok.com/DriverSetup.exe

or

Try this (from DUC):

Begin by downloading the following file: <http://www.paceap.com/extensions/installers/x64/installx64.zip>

1) From Windows' Add or Remove Programs feature, uninstall any listing of "License Support" and "Interlok driver setup"

2) Reboot the system

3) Disconnect any iLoks connected to the system

4) Run and follow the install instructions of the Tpkdx64Setup.exe file found in the Drivers folder of the installx64.zip file linked here and downloaded. It is very important that no anti-virus or Internet monitoring software (especially Kaspersky) is running.

5) Restart the computer

6) Run and follow the install instructions of the LicenseSupportSetup64.exe file found in the Components folder of the installx64.zip file linked here and downloaded. It is very important that no anti-virus or Internet monitoring software (especially Kaspersky) is running.

7) Restart the computer

8) Try running the software in need of the iLok license.

The reason I wasn't more specific is that I had nothing to add describing my situation further, seeing that my problems were already pointed out by someone else.
At one point I gave my full system specs and installed software list, but the forum didn't print it and I just posted a shorter reply.

I'm not posting here only to get my answers, but to help people with similar problems or at least let them know they're not alone.

but here it goes now:
I don't think this relates to Waves anymore, since I'm working on a couple of songs and using a lot of Waves plugins for the sake of testing my issues. Nothing happens!

It only crashes when I try to work on my dubbing mixes (I mix portuguese-dubbed feature films and series). Now the problem seems more likely to be VIDEO, since that's one of the few obvious differences between when it crashes and when it doesn't.
A few more tests and maybe I can triangulate the cause of this.

I put on a great effort to have my system squeaky clean and perfect. I'm pretty sure there's nothing having that negative impact on Pro Tools, except maybe for plugins and Pro Tools itself. Maybe, just maybe, something in JustTrying's patch too. I'm not complaining about the patches, it's just that before this I was running 10.3.2 (can't remember what patch I used), and the crashes were not happening, even with the same post-production sessions that crash now.

specs:
i5 750 (quad, 2.66gHz), 12GB RAM Corsair 1333, MSI mobo
nVidia GTS 250 1GB vram, 2 sata2 drives, 1 IDE, perfect working conditions/maintained
Focusrite Sapphire PRO40 via dedicated firewire 400 PCI interface; no USB hubs
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (never had one problem),
Avast Free Antivirus (which I completely disable via custom boot options for the sake of testing)
M-audio Axiom 61 mkII controller

I should also state that I run a dual boot (Chamealeon/iBoot), to choose between this Win7 and a Snow Leopard installation on the dedicated IDE drive (which Windows isn't allowed to recognize). Windows does have MacDrive running.

Not much else running concurrently.

Again, thanks to everyone here for all the insights, replies and such.

Excellent work.

Great to hear ampgroup11....I was doing great too until today and I started getting the "you are getting low on CPU power"...error. It was soon after I installed and was using Amplitube. This is NOT an issue with the crack and is a Pro Tools issue. I hope it is just the Amplitude plugin causing the problem.

i have to say just one thing ..
i am using VR7 + JTv5 .. BUT .. on 10.3.2 ...
yes

i know .. must be on 10.3.0 ..
but i just have decided to try on 10.3.2 , cause 10.3.2 have some good bugfixes by AVID ..

ASHWALK:

Yes I think trying 10.3.2 would be your best bet at the moment. I can confirm that JustTrying's patch doesn't seem to be bothered which version you install, it EATS 'EM ALL ! (What a genius !) Ampgroup11: is on 10.3.2, I have opted for 10.3.1, so I would give it a try !

If your Memory, CPU, and bus settings are reasonable as you said, then that should be alright. What about your power supply ? Is that reasonably dimensioned ?

Of course as soon as you work with video, quick time and codecs come into the equation.
Can't imagine too much trouble there !
I can't see MacDrive as a problem either.

Yes try 10.3.2, see what happens !

PTPatty: I guess you mean the latest Amplitude release ? Will give it a try !

If anyone has an ATI HD Card, and can't get Pro Tools going for the first time after installation, deactivate the HDMI audioport under Windows Hardware Manager. It works wonders !

Well, Shiver Me Timbers........

PT 10.3.2 has many bug fixes?!!...........I wrote many moons, ago that it should be compiled with this version. But since the patch was compiled for v10.3.0, it wasn't recommended!

v10.3.0 is very buggy....at it's core!

The Scallywags finally caught on, eh......! lol

Did anyone get a chance to purchase Sugar Bytes Transvst ?
looks like a good program Vst to AAX adapter

tomtom,

Regarding TransVST...from those who managed to grab it before it was removed, it sounds like an awesome piece of software. Legit PT10 users say it solved a lot of problems for them. Yes, Avid did pull it but it sounds like there may be some hope of it's resurfacing once Avid and Sugar Bytes works out the details. Seems as if Sugar Bytes didn't have Avid's blessing for releasing this like Fxpansion did with their wrapper. Fingers crossed for it's return! wink
