pro tools 10,
Crazy stuff... I will revert back to 10.3.0 tomorrow and see the diff and report back my findings... I wish I had more time to test all the hundreds, maybe thousands of VSTs in my arsenal... too many for one sitting.

My eyes burn, My ears are fatigued, time to blaze chron and call it a night (3:45am for me)

3) overwrite pro tools.dll

2:20 hrs long session, 7 different projects opened and saturated with aux and plugs, minor editing here and there, very few Minor - NON lethal errors. Launch and close averyhting is smooth on my end. Stayed up all night just to test Anonymous' .dll

I second pro tools 10 ...she's running fluffy.

Ladies & Gentlemen, this may be it!(?) time will tell of course.

Maybe I'm being stupid but I don't remember doing anything with the protools.bin file. Same size as the .dll file and appears to be hidden?

PTPatty: the .bin file is there to fool the program to think it is unchanged. Strangely, instead if just checking itself, the dll passes its filename to a checking routine, and Team VR figured out that, if it points at an unchanged copy (the .bin file) then one can change the dll itself. Very clever. So except from the three patched locations in the .dll file, there is one place where the name ProTools.dll is changed to ProTools.bin.
Anonymous made these changes in the 10.3.1 dll, but still uses the .bin for 10.3.0 which shows that the consistency check finds its data-to-check inside the file it checks. The 10.3.1 is the same as the 10.3.0 except for the latter having an extraordinary amount of internal padding. 10.3.2 is a different fish, though it has the same routines, it does not work if the corresponding bytes are patched. Anyway:
If I were Avid, I'd ask for my money back from iLok for 1) having (in hindsight) such a lame consistency check and 2) making it possible to patch the hidden call by just returning from it. SOMEONE should have red ears!!! Of course, they read this, too, and will change this in a further version... I would, if I were them! Well, more to tempt the grey matter...

smitty: i have not tried running with Anonymous' 10.3.1 dll on 10.3.2, but generally, IF the calls are the same, it might work - you would, however get 10.3.1's functionality from that DLL - but then, how much has changed in it?

mukundas: the VR patch does this: it puts its own version of ProTools.exe, ProTools.dll and ProTools.bin instead of the one you had before. If you use the patch in an empty folder, these three files show up. The files are VR's patched versions of 10.3.0, with the MF error not patched. The exe file has the startup image with the version number in it, 10.3.0.

smoothest sailing so far and i tried all.

asio4all/1024/2 proc/delay short/host engine blank/cpu90%/autobackup blank.

gonna test w/line6 ux1 now..

But I still have the same problem, the FXpansion VST to RTAS adapter v2.11 freeze when I click on Detect and wrap vst plugins.
BUt I found part of the solution: The program only freezes when using C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins but if I specify any other folder, no problem, so it is annoying but doing it folder by folder even inside the C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins it works. (Example C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins\Antress Modern Plugins)

On another hand reporting about Pro tools: I had a freeze and close using the instrument Xpand 2, then I receive this message that I have to reboot my system to open Protools.
