In my mind, it is really simple:
1) Install 10.3.0.
2) patch with Team VR patch
3) remove timebomb with my little patcher from a few posts back
How you set the settings for the application - well, whatever works in your case.
At least the above has been without issues for me.

just called my friend who has original pt10.
and he has avid qualified computer on a rme fireface800, and win7
he says that it is unstable too, even with original software...
maybe protools are not made for windows after all damn

When i click in the Patch Button, i get the message " Cannot access to the file. Maybe it's in use. Please close the file before patching." I really don't have the file open ! Y reboot my computer but no luck.

Just click ok and it will work. I keep saying this but people blindingly just skip over it. Use 10.3.0, with Vr's patch and only change the first address JustTrying posted (or download his dll where this is changed) using a hex editor. Victorious I just used strip silence and it's working 100%. This combination has been the only stable release, but now we get mixed up with all that other stuff. The ONLY THING THAT WORKS is 10.3.0, vr patch, JustTrying single byte change. that's it!

Ah yes..the strip silence issue! That was the downfall of the PT9 (k) on the MAC side. Strip silence would cause a error/crash.

Strip silence is a function that removes portions of audio clips that contain no or little sound. It cleans up tracks by removing unnecessary segments of audio.

Strip Silence removes silence from audio clips, I believe.
At least that is what it did for me when I tried.

every thing works fine on my pc.
only problem i have is sluggish GUI
scrolling, zooming, opening inserts etc...
whell, it is not a Usain Bolt pc, core2duo 2,8, 2 gig ram, onboard grafic card...

any similar cases ?

Well although the Strip Silence option works with some dificulties for me, i've to say that the rest of the functions are OK and works correctly. no crashes, no freezes (i've some problems with the hindustani's patch) PTPatty, Thas's exactly what Strip Silence does wink

PC is a strange creature.
friend of mine bought avid qualified pc, and original pt10, and still has problems
i installed this protools crack on a pc that is 5 years old, win7 are 2 years old (never reinstaled), i have tons of plugins, video games, this is my PC for testing.
and by the way, i have cubase 5.1, and nuendo 4,3 installed on this pc, and protools does not mind that......weird wink

No, until using a certain patch + 10.3.1 it doesnt work fine .. MF error constantly after using about 1 min (hard edit).
Works fine on:
10.3.0 original
patch VR
Justtrying Mod (c3).
20 min hard edit and no MF error ..
but ...
i just have VENUE error .. (conection fails)



i just have to get out to work (studio)
