PT recommends nothing working on main drive except Pro Tools. 7200 speed separate tracking, audio and VST drives.........most recommended setup for all DAWs!

yes, sequoia works perfect with virtual instruments, although i recommend ableton live for it the best. i use ableton for quick, loop-based compositioning where precision/tight beats are the must. i use studio one and reaper for tape-style audio recording and midi too, and i use sequoia for that final polishing(pseudo mastering). ther are all great apps, at this stage/usability they all blow this pro tools away by ease.

sequoia is very german, it's like an audi a8 of all daws, where as studio one and reaper are a very reliable toyota corolla :).
you cant update sequoia through the file menu - keep in mind, but you can download goodies if you go the samplitude pro x route, but i prefer sequoia.
so yes, you can use it for midi all right, but its strongest point is audio i'd say, especially mastering. have them all. i tried them all, now settled for studio one/live/reaper/and sequoia. if i had to choose just one, i dunno, would hesitate between reaper and live. remember : one tool is never enough. depends on your mood. use them all. one day this one day that. i was in the same shoes like you, just wanted to keep only one, but realised that i'm too addicted to daws. many pros use different apps side by side.
most stable ableton live : 8.2.2 ; reaper is themeable so you can customise its look awesome. i know it can be a bit frustrating to have your projects in different apps, but its worth it - just backup everything, work folders/wavs/mps - organise. best file manager : live. lightest on the system : reaper (can run from a usb thats crazy). it also has ninjam built in, with you can jam online with people for free.
sequoia strong point : different files in one project.:
drop in mp3's, wavs(44/16-48-24etc),aiffs,ogg - no problem, no conversion at all, it just plays them. built in effects are among the best. workplace can bit a bit jammed sometimes bt u can customise them. best metering system is in sequoia. vandal guitar amp built in, most life like. 5-6 skins.

Yes, but I don't know you machine (number of cores) or sound card. Though my experience with PT's, even my MBox Mini 2 needed 1024 (unless U're using high-end gear to compensate.

As far as core's, it's recommended to set percentages, if possible and not totally. This way your OS functions and heavy programs such as PT's are not competing for processing power. You can find this info on PT's site, in their support database.

Plus, Pro Tools also recommends a separate write disk, as well.....it doesn't like sharing.....lol!

The recommended scenario for (best) audio system performance, Pro Tools or otherwise:

Systems disk: Pro Tools, Plugs (VST's, VSTi's)
2nd disk: Write files
3rd disk: Audio Samples, MIDI Files

Pro Tools almost insist on the setup to operate properly......

Yes, another scenario may work, as well; but if you begin to have errors, try this. I've had less problems with all of my DAW's by using this setup.

that s a good setup,same as mine,although audio files can be stored anywhere,it s just that a big drive is recommended because a recording session,might take severla gigs of space,besides this way if something happens or u have to format u don t lose data

In Cubase and others, my audio files CAN go almost anywhere.......but for me personally, Pro Tools works better with everything off my "C" drive, except plugs.......less errors. Even putting write file with sample file were causing errors, and I use USB 3.0 ports. It's very particular, Pretty Tool's!

This is typical PT's Mix setup, you can try 512 samples but you might start having stutter, hickups or freezes!

Probably the same as before...over writing the current .exe. Finally got around to trying Anonymous's filez. MP3 bounce works great but I still get the MF error and I can't ignore the error anymore as it locks everything.

2 MF ERRORS in the same project, using Anonymous patch, still no good. Using aux input tracks again.

i still can use the aux how many i want, it still no mf.. until 4/5 hrs after then mf pop up. and not because the aux send.

Anonymous: do not remove the MF message, change the first byte of that routine (at 0x0223FE40 in the original cracked ProTools.dll) to a Return (C3). The app will continue working, though that thread may throw up an exception which one can just click away. I had the MF: thing - but no more - and now had the app running for 16 hours...
(Anyone with a hex editor can change that byte 6A to C3 at that location).
Note: this changes the ProTools.dll only - the AAXhost.dll also has that message embedded, and before doing the same thing there, one needs to remove the checksum somewhere as was done in the cracked ProTools.dll.

Thanks I just did that and it worked. Instead of the mf error, the access violation occured error popped up 0xEF2839E8, i clicked ok and pro tools is working again. Im still testing, i hope for the best. Thank you again

Follow JustTrying's steps it's pretty easy. I did get an error where protools stopped working BUT taht might of just been teh wave plugins acting up, Im pretty sure. So everyone test JustTrying's method and see if there are any other errors that will kill ProTools.exe

Also please try testing on the Demo Session taht the Pro Tools installer comes with in the Additional Files folder called Audrey, it's a FULL song project and has MANY tracks. It's a good test project to work on.
