Funny thing, but only now i have realized that the site is practically empty.

we can definitely forget about MU and FileServe; FileSonic might come back in a few days, but still most of the posts and mirrors are dead.

this leads to a good question: wtf do we do now? :o))

i don't want to make a mess with mirrors and other stuff... after all about 20% of posts was dead anyway.

so it seems to me that the best thing to do is to start with a clean sheet.
some stuff will be lost forever, but most of it, i am sure, will be reuploaded in a month or so.

please vote in the poll.
i especially want to read our contributor's opinion.

UPD: unfortunately, i still do not have complete solution to this problem... neither my acquaintance who run much bigger web-sites.
although i can share some news with you:
1. lots of changes are coming; AudioZ will become much more secure, rules for uploaders will be very strict.
2. i'm working hard to make our small community better; my programmers almost finished service which will help us to keep posts alive longer and cause less problems to the site.
3. soon we'll have our own server for images, therefore uploaders won't have to use unstable Picture Hosters to share screenshots.
4. soon AudioZ will be moved to a new VDServer, which will grant you faster and more stable access.
5. old posts will not be removed, but i'll make it the way they won't bother you

i think we should really start from nothing :) there were really a lot of dead posts int here agree!
and we should hide link to downloads to not regged leechers ;)

but really not sure which host will rise again here ... might rapidshare?!

Start from scratch. That easy.

And contributors: PLEASE USE RAPIDSHARE (in the meantime).

It's the safest place atm - it's located in switzerland, that means no USA, no EU, no SOPA/PITA/RTFM/ROFL/whatever!

Hi Friends what about FilePost this host is working yet.
In my opinion is better to start from scratch

Well, RS has a good fraud/abuse section, so it'll be necessary for hiding links - to not spread the links that open so google/bing/filestube/whatever can assign filenames with releases. Maybe we need passwords again.

What do we do now? What about making some music with stuff that everybody has already collected? rofl

I have voted 1st option, but this time I think is better to hide the links to new users...at least not before they have passed a test. I think could be a good idea to hide AudioZ from Google too.

@bigboobs: If I don't remember wrong Rapidshare is in disuse due to his anti-piracy politicy, do you remember some years ago?

@Antara: Do you think TONS (more than 1000gb) of sample packs and VST's are enough???? :D :D :D

@Diabulus:
No, I don'T remember. But I know, that RS is holding actually a bunch of tv series, audio books and more. So that's why I'd give RS a try.

I think the posts are good for reading comments and inform you about installation problems and other faults. For some people its good to know, which release is better or if something is wrong with an release etc

Dont know actually, things are unsetlled and making a kind of big decision at this time is hard. Maybe we should wait for some more time ( one or two weeks or so) before decide to start from scratch dunno

Start from scratch isn't a bad idea, but where to share the links???
Days and days of work (posts) now not accessible anymore except for some hosters....Is private sharing only, now the best solution? Well, let's make music.

P.S.: I was one of the few who encrypted my shares here but people soon started to complain.....

Everybody DO NOT use descriptive filenames. Call it anything but what you've uploaded. If it's big, call it My home movies in HD.
Without faith nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible.

In a long-term view, it'll be necessary to have private sharing - if you want.

BUT: It'll be not possible anymore to make money with it (in this "oldschool" manner :)).

Just my 2 cents...

Hello one and all, +1 on the clean sheet strategy. We also have the option of going "torrent" if this avenue is exhausted in the future. I cannot understand what these corporations, and sadly, the state are thinking by trying to control intellectual property. That's like saying I know how to make fire but since I'm the only one that can do it, the rest of you can freeze to death unless you swing off my balls when I want you to. GO SAiNT!

I know its been said already but. I feel everyone has to contribute no exclusions everyone has to contribute somethink to this site before hitting and running like so many of them do on here and that should help sort the dodgy people who shouldn`t be here if you get what I mean. You earn the right to gain access to download links it works for other sites so why cant it work here.

A clean sheet would look very good on your behalf and I think thats the most important thing right now.
I've got it made and I'm still too busy to argue with you!

~ SOME START THEIR DAY WITH A COFFEE, I START MINE WITH AUDIOZ ~

What to do now it's a good question? Maybe private sharing... I think it's better to wait for a while, see what happens, now you guys have some time to explorer and use all the stuff that you have:-)

Sad day.

Just a quick idea: Let's work out something like an upload standard. File naming, password and an info mask/formular for the release thread. :)

I am old enough to remember the Audio Scene before the internet really got going...ftp's,first class BBS servers and I think its time to return to the days when people shared without making money from their links, as this is one of the things that has caused this situation, the file-sharing sites promoted greed...and the equally greedy corperations closed them down,
as to how to move forwards I think we should wait and see what happens before making any rash decisions.

I think a fresh start might be good, but we are getting ahead of time here. Don't panic!
I think we should sit on the fence for a few weeks and wait. Patience my friends. I believe file hosters will not give up all of their premium users so fast. They just lay low for now to see what's happening. As someone said - it's too bad for all the comments, links, installations problems etc.
If you DO decide to do afresh start, how about keeping the old posts as an archive? like "audioz.info/archive" so people could still go and look for things/comments/try to download files that will not be reup etc... I think it's a waste to remove the whole legacy AudioZ has gathered. At least leave a backup for old time sake.
Thanks!

First of all: Whatever OCH you chose, apply just this three rules:

- Hide the filename of the upload,
- Encrypt the Rar with a password,
- Use a Link protection system.

There's a big German warez site which sticks to this rules with every single release, and their content is stable for months and sometimes years. They have even working Macpro stuff which is taken down so fast on every other side.

And of course Rapidshare, the best OCH atm.

For MAC users there's a fine Software called "Papaya":
http://lightheadsw.com/papaya/
Papaya is a web server for Mac OS X dedicated to sharing your files with others. Sharing files is now incredibly quick and easy! It's a matter of dragging files to Papaya's dock icon, or the library list. The web address for downloading the file is copied automatically, ready for pasting into an e-mail or instant message.

Papaya acts as a web server, sharing files through the HTTP protocol. This means that anyone with a web browser can download your files — no special software is needed on the receiving end.

Or maybe "Drumbeat"?
