i don't have any problems with waves 9vr6 R2R
this is my first time using pro tools 10 and i think is complicated to use
i don't know maybe i get used to using other programs anyways
for those who have problems with the error 9514
the thing i did was to uninstall pro tools then install as administration then if u get the error u have to turn off your antivirus then run pro tools and u r done and then u turn on your antivirus again and for the next time u use pro tools u don't have to turn it off

i say protools is far from good even when working with out a crack i own one as many do and its just to show others that i have it but i never use it unless they specifically ask for a pro tools session wink

i purchased protools and cubase many many years ago at the same time at the time they were the only DAW's there was nothing else thats how long ago it was and i found out buy using them both that cubase was far more superior to protools and still is

you can buy a HD interface like UA apollo or Motu for 2 or 3 thousand and get a great sound from a lot of Daw's or you can get a protools hd system for 6 thousand to 16.000 you do the math

I have to agree with Coolios on this one, completely. I enjoyed reading the thread and it's more honest and truthful to reality than the ones on the "legal" audio forums full of DD fanboys and/or people who paid through their nose for the crap, and now they're afraid to admit they feel fucked. :)

It's "little things" like these, you know:

Wow. Impressive. [sarc.] I've been working with 32bitFP audio since I remember it. :) I do record in 24-bit, though, because that's the native format for recording *only* for all audio interfaces. But increased bit-depth during the mixing can be very beneficial especially when using lots of plugin processing.

What a crappy company, I "cannot believe" it. Since Avid acquired it, even worse than ever. The only thing that keeps its popularity up is great, Apple like PR [myths and legends], and a team of faithful brainwashed followers, Apple like. I don't think they'll be nearly as big in not so distant future since even lots of the faithful followers are starting to sober up after version 8 up.

Thank you for the upload! And big thank you to Team VR! I have a patient who might find it useful. :)

Two years ago I did buy Nuendo 5 for 2k Euro.
Bullshit Software, bullshit Service (Telephone SEX Hotline Fees).
And in my DAW for 2k Euro I was not able to use Drum Editor.
I was forced to by Nuendo Extension Pack (300 Euro) to get Features from Cubase like Drum Editor.
So fuck Avid and Steinberg in the same wise, this is fucking Money Leecher Company's nothing else!!!

@jaydeejoy: Avid wasn't so kind as to provide Pro-Tools with VST support. Stupid? Yes it is! :) Is it about introducing their own proprietary format to part you with more money and fill their pockets? Yes it is! :) You can only use VST plugins in Pro-Tools with FXpansion VST-RTAS adapter. Still beats me why people would go through all that crap. Anyway, find FXpansion VST-RTAS adapter.

@Mr.ThugMoney, and others in doubt: Pro-Tools since v9 works with any ASIO audio card. So yes, it will work with yours, too. Also with Win7. Actually, as far as I'm aware, ProTools 10 needs Win7 to run, and refuses to install on XP. That's what I heard. It wouldn't surprise me as all corporations work and act like Mafia, indeed, mainly Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, Avid, Steinberg, Symantec.

Don't become addicted to this shit because you never know what tomorrow will bring. They're clearly fucked, and greedy fucked up company all together [avid]. Simply saying "Avid" gives me diarrhoea. This is from some of my friend's experiences with them, not mine, thankfully. Awful experiences that cost them a lot of money.

Holly Shit, what did you lost here Baby on the Site, they throw you from Kindergarten?
Yes you can use VST's in Pro Tools, you need only to change the Suffix into dpm.
Additionally you can download AU PlugIn's from Mac and just change the Suffix "component" into dpm too.
You can also use the PlugIn's from Adobe Creative Suite and from Microsoft Word like the Excel plugins to get more cellular punch in your sound!
Personally I'll recommend you to use always Bold Lettering in the Master Buss to get really good loudness in your Music.
Just put the Word PlugIn into your Pro Tools Mixer and set Bold Lettering, that's all!!!
This all and so much more is possible in Pro Tools cause this is the only one Industry Standard and good Music will never existing without Pro Tools.
Even The Beatles was create his Music with Pro Tools and Chuck Norris was the Mastering Engineer and actually the MasterMind by Avid.
That's why God bless Pro Tools because the Music World revolve around Avid, and any thing else is just Superstition!!!

I got it working!!

My machine is a Win7 SP1 32Bits with RME Digi9652 audiocard.

At first i crashed with an DAE error -9514.
Then i held the "N" key while PT was loading up to change the ASIO driver and disk caching stuff.
After this PT loaded up fine and i started testing/demoing...hehe.
The only crashes that occur for now are the famous "MF : application has been compromised" error that bumps in from time to time and when i tried to set up a control surface in the peripherals setup menu (a Behringer BCF2000 in BabyHUI mode hooked up via MIDI on an EMU X2 interface).

Everything else seems to work quite fine...except that the Automatic Delay Compensation isn't working very well.
For example: Set up an Aux track that is fed via a Bus....this bus is fed via send from a normal audio track. Now you should hear the same track twice in the mixer(with doubled volume of course)...but here is the problem.
PT doesn't compensate the roundtrip latency/delay for the aux track....so you can hear that the aux track is delayed to the original audio track by some samples/ms which sounds like static flanging/phasing.
The described routing would be useful for "parallel compression" or "multing" but can't be used without manual delay compensation.

Damn....i thought a DAW like PT would do such task while sleeping...but i was surprised.
Every other DAW does this routing without any problems.

But it's nice that i can test PT for myself after years of reading/seeing and "talking" about it....hehe.

Btw. THX to team V.R. who made this possible and fucked Avid in their big asses!!

Hey guys just to let you guys know Protools 10.3.0 does work in XP SP3 however it must be installed on a Windows 7 Installation Since I use XP for Audio and Windows 7 for video editing as dual boot this kind of worked itself out for me.

Install Protools 10 in windows 7, install PACE drivers during install.

After it is installed DO NOT RUN PROTOOLS YET!!..

Install the crack

Then run Protools 10 do not worry about any errors

For all of you to understand Protools 10 DOES NOT WORK WITH ALL ASIO Cards!!! it only works with the ones they have listed on their site, gee mbox stuff and some other ones on the list LOL MOFO's !!! please remember this!!!

now see if protools runs and you can get inside the main protools windows.

Now regardless of what happened close Protools 10

Reboot into Windows XP( SP3) and go into the other hardrive where windows 7( 64 bit in my case) is installed and go into the program files there x86 and go into "Avid/Protools 10/Protools.exe
And run it

Surprise Surprise hey runs IDENTICAL TO WINDOWS 7!!!!!!! and with the same identical startup routine and no complaints about missing files . I got it to run on XP!! using asio4all. headbang

this doesn't work for me....in Win7 it works but when i switch to WinXP Pro SP3 it always gets to point of the -9514 error. No matter if i'm holding down the "N" key (to change the the ASIO driver)or not.

But...it was worth the try and it's nice that you got it working on WinXP. Maybe this will help others in here.

Someone there had this problem?
I installed Pro Tools HD 10.3.0 on my computer normally. More to open it shows the following errors:

Could not complete you request because Access violation occurred, unable to read locations: 0x00000004

Could not complete the Exit command because Access violation occurred, unable to write location: 0xfffffff8

My Settings:
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit en
Memory: 6GB DDR3 RAM
Storage HHDs:
1 Seagate 256GB HHD for the system.
1 HHD Seagate 3TB USB 3.0 external for extra data.
Western Digital 2TB HHD 1 for extra data.
1 Seagate 1TB HHD for extra data.
Video: GeForce 9500 GT
Audio: Onboard Analog Devices SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio
with ASIO4ALL

If anyone can help me I would be very grateful and happy.

Yeah...this list just shows Avid/M-Audio interfaces which is total BS....hehe.
Any ASIO audiointerface should do it...if it's not working....bad luck.
