i tried to install latest ilok driver, but noway...the problem, i think, is with my mbox 2(at least as far as the blue screen is concerned, but i don't want to use another audio hardware (i paid a lot to have it...). smitty if i remember well you use the same hardware don't you? i still have pt8 installed may i have to uninstall? i appreciate any suggestion!

you need to unistall protools 8 first and then install pt10 and try what i say it works for me 100%

yes i have the mbox2mini,and i can assure u that if there s a hardware that doesn t give problems with version 10 is digidesign,after all it s the same reason why they PT isn t 64 bit yet,i din t have any problems actually,i don t know if i was lucky,but i remeber that i had a little problem when i installed waves a year ago,have u tried to go to the control panel and change some settings in the international options?like the , instead of the. in the format panel?like this
1. Go to: Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel.
2. Select Regional and Language Options.
3. Click on the Customize icon.
4. Make the following changes:
Decimal symbol: . (dot)
Digit grouping symbol: , (comma)
List separator: , (comma)
Negative number format: -1.1
it worked for waves,maybe it will work for PT too

After I Disabled "Auto-save" in Preferences, as well.........this made a difference for me!

I've been using it without fault, for 2 days now! Using MBox mini 2 and Microbook II soundcards!

after two days struggling with drivers, tools and tips, and many installations i think i managed to get rid of the blue screen! i downgraded My mbox 2 driver with version 8.0.3. hope it could be of some help...i'd like to thank smitty and all the people who gave precious advises. is people like you that make this site great! stay well!

I just noticed too that Xpand does not work...no biggie.

I finally got the MF error. Happened only once and that was during PT launch. As far as the internet problem, my studio computer does not even have the hardware to connect to the net so....

As posted previously here from Team VR's NFO for the Beta 8 version:

1. some Fortress timebomb "MF: application has been compromised" - now just click OK and further work without freeze or exit

It's an improvement but not sure when we will see it



One other note: I have had no problems with my Focusrite Saffire 40 using newest drivers

Im getting the MF error again....

So who of you guys has no problems with this error? Maybe a plugin cause this error because its uncompatible with pro tools? or with the cracked one?

Well I fixed XPand from Avid's instrument installer so it's working for me now. Problem is it will start giving me the mf application compromised error so all you need to do is reinstall the patch. So important thing to remember, when installing the Avid virtual instruments, reapply the patch because it will give you the application compromised error if not.

using it for about 6 hours, no error message so far(the mf compromise shite). wrapped vsts open nicely too.

Setup > Playback Engine...
asio4allv2
buffer - 1024samples
2 processors (i have core2duo)
cpu limit - 90%
host engine : UNTICK! (ignore errors...)
minimize additional minimal latency : UNTICK! (think these were on when installed).
delay comp : max
cache size : cant change.

os : w7-32bit.

at install i chose custom install, no video engine.

getting there slowly b surely

I'M USING A MBOX 3 PRO, STILL GETTING MF THINGY, WHEN RECORDING MY LATENCY HAVE TO BE AT 128 AND MIXING AT 1024. I GUESS EACH PERSON HAS THEIR OWN WAY TO GET RID OF THE ERROR, I CAN'T. NOTHING I DO OR SUGGESTIONS HELPS... THANX THO, THAT ERROR JUST KEEPS ON POPPING UP. PATIENTLY WAITING ON THE PATCH 8

Big thanks. I'm on a Mac with a new bootcamp partition just for this babe and it works!!!! I'm still on testing it, but it CAN be run on a mac. I'm using Asio4All to run it in a MacBook Pro. I'll install later on an iMac to see how it works with my 002 and MOTU Traveler. I'll keep you posted on results.

BTW, isn't there a forum around there where to share impressions on how it works and maybe support the dev team with insights? If you can, point me to one.

Guys, as ZETAS (Member of Team.V.R) stated this is an old Beta release, which was "leaked" by one of the members. DO NOT expect any release soon by them. This is an INTERNAL Release for Members only. So maybe in some months or maybe later, you will see the FINAL release.

Either you will be happy with it (Dont had any crashe after testing for several hours) or let it be and use something else ...

Lomex beat me to this. I assumed that this was "leaked" as it is an internal Beta release. Betas work out the bugs. Team VR knew this was not fully functional but it allows us to play with it a bit. Please people, if you don't like Pro Tools so be it and move on. Don't complain about the problems with this release as it was never intended for you to have in the first place! Just my 2 cents. Hopefully, if and when Team VR works this out, they will share it with us. +10 for Team VR!! wink

At first I was getting blue screen due to some stock plugins it asked for pace driver, I updated it and still wouldn't work so I did a fresh windows 7 installation and it work like a charm! xD

Reinstall windows is your best option!
