People focus on the negative because they're ungrateful infants and they do it to keep focus from themselves because it's easier to point out external shortcomings than internal ones.

You're partly right, most people (exceptions do exist though) blame the world for their own mistakes in life. However, I don't think they focus on the negative, because they're ungrateful infants, but rather because media is telling them to do so every day. What's on the news today, crime rate, murders, national debt, frauds, ... Every day it's the same with different names, that's why I don't have TV or radio.
Yet this constant brainwashing concludes one thing, the output "sheep" is totally unprepared to accept responsibility for its own activities, so in the end, it's vicious endless loop.

Absolutely I do agree that this has a big influence on who we are today. You never hear anything good on the news anymore and that saps your well-being, then cue the commercials that are trying to cater to our every whim with some crap we don't want sold by people we can't stand forget about music which is like a xerox machine churning out crap. I actually read an interesting article and one of the reasons that was stated for why we're so miserable was that we are victims of the outrage machine and I couldn't agree more, just look at this thread. However I also think we do it because it's easier to simply point the finger somewhere else and say: you see this is why I am unhappy particularly when it's something external because then we are not responsible to change it, all the work is with someone else. I don't know maybe I was raised differently but I don't look at it that way. Same with fraggle83 when he was talking about how he sometimes would wait a week before he could finish a file he wanted and he was still happy to have something that would have cost him an arm and a leg. The guy's got gratitude so every little thing that comes his way is going to bring a smile to his face, he will think wow I am so lucky. Like me he also thinks about all the work that went into bringing it to him and so after all that how can one still be spoiled? With a focus like that it's really hard but people choose instead to focus on all the minutiae about how someone somewhere is making money and it's a conspiracy and all this drivel. People want to dress it up as some moral stand but really it is nothing but ego worship...how dare I not have a fast working link at a hosting service I didn't even pay for. The age we live in now things are constantly being catered to us and we think we should have it all even when we're not even paying. Sadly the public dissemination of warez has only compounded the problem because for many...the more we get the more we think we deserve.

And funny joke by the way...the infinite loop. It's weird but I think about it in programming terms too sometimes. Damn this logical brain.

Yeah Linux is great, I use linux distros for data recovery and other tasks. It saved my life just recently when I got some corruption on my Windows machine thanks to Flash causing me to do a hard reboot all the time. Couldn't boot regularly or into safe more, all recovery points suddenly had disappeared, front USB ports weren't even working...it was bad.

It is not Psychopath, it copy of a message I got form uploaded.net when trying to download one of my files.

I mean that uploaded.net becomes shit because they are too cool with these "copyright protectors" they just let them access all account and delete what ever.
This is why for me uploaded.net are no more an option.

The consequence is that any contributor that could upload a good big library, will not because it is too long to take the risk of being deleted after 10 minutes.

So most of them are posting smaller things.

Finaly there are so many other good file hosting that I don't see why stay with one that don't try, even a little bit, to protect the one that make them live.

DMCA-shit is even worse than just "rightholder request", i have experience with fake-request from Mediafire, when DMCA-request was made by the company who have no "rights" for certain content, i.e. - your files could be deleted by the company who have nothing with the "pirated" content, so any "troll-company" can down your files. At least it works for US-fileshares.

p.s.: that content was developed by different software companies - and that was software, dmca-request for all stuff was made by ONE company, i don't remember name of that company (it was a year ago), but i remember that it was some cinema media company (they stealing copyrights from Software-developers? Oo)

This is the same with almost all hosters, Uploaded.net has to cover their ass to have plausible deniability otherwise they wouldn't be able to stay open. I know it can be frustrating from an uploaders perspective but it's just the reality of filesharing. They're all pretty quick once those notices come in.

DMCA's have been used as a form of censorship and many takedowns have been issued by those that don't even own the copyrights. I think I even posted about it here or on some other site. On non warez sites it can be used as a way of hurting the competition and censoring information. This won't change until we rip the system and throw it away.

Not true at all, you're absolutely wrong. Prior to voting for President there are primaries where the choices are far more extensive and then get narrowed down before the final election. The process, if taken as a whole, actually gives considerably more choices, including the availability of a write-in vote if you choose to do so. There's definitely limitations based on finance, for example to an increasing degree it seems if you're not wealthy running for office becomes impossible, but that's a whole other topic.
Fact is, had there been write-ins here for file hosts, this would have been much more fair. But the truth is SAiNT didn't want to take the chance that what he didn't want would get the most votes.

The wealth part of it actually applies here very clearly: a candidate can't sustain his candidacy without funds. These are the links that are sustainable because of a thing called incentive to work with a few hours sleep every day and to invest in software. There are tons of free links on the forums that are easy for everyone, we can't live in a utopia where suddenly every magical whim anyone has to be fulfilled (and by us)...we live in the real world with all it's real problems. And the bottom line is that practically every damn site on the net uses Uploaded.net as a primary server so again your argument doesn't have a leg to stand on. We even had a guy who runs a competing site come and explain that he also uses Uploaded.net as a primary too. We have mirror links and when they're posted people also get other options. Sometimes we can do that, sometimes we can't. A lot of people can help the cause by adding other mirrors themselves...which they rarely do. I mean what else do you want me to say? I really think you guys need to reread fraggle83 and ghostinthemachine's perfectly sublime reponses.

i think about which fileshare can do right policy on such requests, rightholders should prove their rights for the content. Otherwise, they fighting with illegal content (and legal too) by illegal methods. Not all fileshares in the world doing such way, and they shouldn't do! At least Mega doesn't accept DMCA, they follow the law of New Zeland)

How about Uploaded.net as a primary everywhere...why not attack that one? You know why you have much more choice...because Presidential elections impact your life not your ability to steal software at unlimited speeds but I'm sure you'll ignore that point when you come up with yet another complaint.

I really think you should close this topic (or prevent more posting ability) and never ask them for an opinion at all...after all it is the staff that is doing all the hard work so why even bother? To hear all the critics that haven't done anything complain? Not worth it.
