I'm reading your post, and while I don't have any problem with what you're suggesting, I do find myself kinda laughing away here at the idea that your parents won't let you get a premium acct, but otherwise they don't seem to have any problem with you downloading illegal material!

Its absolutely easy to understand..Not allowing their son to make a Premium accout save them money..same as allowing him downloading copyrighted stuff (otherwise they have to give him money so he can buy the stuff) So, absulutely economical behaviour!

maybe we need to start carding people before they're allowed on the forum..... the thing is, would we be stopping people from coming in who were under 18, or would we be saying you can't come in if you're OVER eighteen?? I just can't figure it out anymore with this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too funny!! Bottom line is that if you are under the age of 35 please STFU, there was a SCENE long before most of you even knew. Anybody remember me from AUDIOFARM?? I highly doubt it. Anyways.... the truth of the matter is that SAiNT is trying to set standards that everyone can kinda agree upon. Now I'm sure that a few will not like the changes but lets face it, You really have no choice. if you don't like it then go somewhere else, Plenty of people have suggested other means for you to use.

The say-so lies between the value of the product, and it's accessibility -vs- vulnerability.
For what remains outside of public domains such as cross-platform programming.. those who know where it is pay double the cost of the commercial product to get it in the form of a 3rd party installation. This is the field where there are truly "profiteers", and they maintain say-so. The minute scale program tasks are the least impressive, most vulnerable, and most accessible. Those are passed straight to these small time dealers on the corner. So no, there's not as much say-so on this level as they would like to assume. This is the realm where vagabonds can roam all over town strumming their street guitars and any nickel bag on any corner will do.

I'd like to set some hassle-free, fast + user friendly links just to ruffle the profiteers!

yes, and i did it, i shared Slate Platinum Drums 3.5 for knotakt, my upload speed is 50kb, it took me a week but i shared it on rapidshare at the time, completely free (u can check, the release from audiop2p says "thanks commositore" in the nfo, it's my nickname on audioforum where i shared the library. If i dont upload more often its because i have a shitty connection.

So, no one has asked the obvious question I guess. I no longer really have a dog in this fight, but just for the sake of clarity I'll ask.

Why can't sites like Putlocker and Mega be in the poll? What is preventing that from happening?

Oh I have no problem with people of any age it's all about their disposition and young people tend to think they know it all, not all but many. However korniceman3000A came with a good attitude and you saw I wasn't mean to him and even gave him respect for his comments. And by the way while we're on the subject of the younger generation...they're umm not doing so well. First generation to make less than their parents and don't even get me started on the scene. It was the whole let's share with everyone bullshit that is the reason we have such harsh copyright laws stifling creativity and the reason the warez community has devolved to a subhuman level not to mention it was in direct contradiction to the desires of the scene itself. It should have stayed underground and everything would have been golden for those that EARNED their way in, rather poetic if you ask me. I guarantee you private sites aren't dealing with the level of bullshit we deal with here. That's why mods there don't think that moderating is hard work.

First of all I have to set the record straight because honestly I don't think a lot of you get how hypocritical you're being: If you knew that some company was paid to give away free software on the streets in your town would you not say thanks? Would you insist that it was wrong that the company gets paid to give away free software?...no you would take the software, say thanks and walk away feeling like a million fucking bucks. It baffles me that you apply THE EXACT SAME SCENARIO to the warez scene and suddenly all logic flies out the window. And in this case it makes even less sense because it would be as if by taking that software for free from that company paid to give it away on the streets you are also generating funds for them to give away more software. Are you telling me you would walk up to one of the employees and tell them that this is all about making money and you demand that this stop immediately? If you say yes then I've got news for you...you're insane. And people talk about competing sites but just about every competing site besides a few uses Uploaded exclusively save for mirrors which is again THE EXACT SAME SCENARIO we have here. Some sites don't even allow unapproved mirrors period. And most importantly you're complaining about contributors making money while you rob developers daily of their truly hard work that often takes years of development and then act like you have some moral high ground in this debate. That to me is some ridiculous hypocritical bullshit and I don't even mean that to be insulting but come on people...

PS If you have no comment on that last point don't even bother addressing the other two.

Yes... or maybe you're a cop. Because that software would be stolen from some other company. Also they wouldn't just give it away for free. They would have a special line for people who were willing to pay, and they would get it much faster than others. So that operation wouldn't last very long out on the streets.

I understand your point, just saying that some parts are missing if you wanna make the scenarios similar. But I personally think there's too much difference between the digital domain and the physical world to make really good comparisons.

Now I must rush to work after catching up with the latest 5 pages here. Why does summer have to end? - don't bother to answer that, it's already on the internets

It may keep links alive but an uploader or two figured out how to also make it into something that elbows out the other uploaders from competing while attempting to force you into premium accounts, especially when the OP is only offering 2 hosts that are dreadfully slow on free accounts.

well, if we're talking about Sunny, then those two hosts are exactly what people choose in the previous poll (and the current one as well), so his post complies with the rules. i can't satisfy every single member right now, but i'm working on it.

I was wondering if Audioz would ever consider the idea of allowing mandatory mirrors posted by members other than the OP for large content (3- gigs or larger only) so it wouldn't be limited to just UL and rapidgator?

there is a reason why most uploaders do what they do and we both know it;
it won't end well if i force them to do something completely against the reason they doing it, even though their reasons are quite the opposite of mines. (and you can see Mega in most of my shares)

it is my art of balancing good and bad on this site, so in the end we all would get what we came here to get.
