@PTPatty: I really dunno. Anyhow, the message is gone but not the problem. When I got the message before, the computer froze to death, so I could never ignore the error and go on. It was always a restart.

What I did this time was to install 10.3.1 and then the patch. My Windows install is fresh to avoid any other bugs in the way, and it's only PT, Quicktime, Asio4All, the Focusrite VRM Box Asio driver, Waves 9, Softube, BlueCat, and Kontakt 5. I tried to floor the pedal with PT, and it started to get unstable when I messed with changing patches with Steven Slate Drums in Kontakt and using the Windows explorer to open windows around. I suspect my Mac formatted drives could be making matters worse. I access y mac drives using MacDrive 8.

I'll keep messing with Asio4All. It's still alive so far, and I'll also disengage the Mac drives to see how it goes.

@D-Crysis: I simply sent those plugs to the unused plugins folder the first time they loaded. The next time I started up PT the issue was gone.

I don't know y all of u getting mf error I got the error once after that I naver got it no lie I can make a video n show u guys

I restore my comp n then I install win SP 1 pack And then I install pro tools that's make such ur win it's up to date with all win drivers

Any plugin that has the .aax extension is a new plugin format by Avid. It is supposed to be ready for the new 64 bit Pro Tools of upcoming release. For the moment those plugins are not needed because RTAS is the plugin format of Pro Tools as of this release. PT 10 uses both types of plugins, but remember one of the known defects of Patch Beta 7:

Known medicine defects:
1. maybe some timebomb
2. not loaded AAX plug-ins with corrupted digital signature (ie cracked)
3. not support Video Satellite Link
4. not work bounce to MP3


Those .aax plugs that fail to load are point 2. Maybe even though they are stock plugins from PT, the patch is unable to validate them, so the best solution is to pass up on them.

When PT 11 is out, Avid will drop the RTAS format in favor of AAX.

BTW, my computer still freezes the same regardless of playback engine. Bummer. I'll keep testing it some more. I'll keep results posted.

for all those who didnt get the mf error,try to work with more then a few audio waves and a few plugins,i dont but it,you dont test it right,u just open a fresh project and you play with it for a few minutes with minimum tracks and plugins and u say u dont get the mf error.
i updated to 10.3.1 also,its the same shit,i got the mf errors when i started to mess with the sends.

you guys arent doing enough. mine will last about 4+ hours with aux inputs and aux sends with effects and such, until the mf error occurs. are you guys sure you are using it for that long. test it for a long time with aux sends and inpits, adjust faders, effects etc, try making a song! make a 3 minute song of your hoice in protools, take atleast 4+ hours to play around, put in aux sends and inputs, mobe things around, then youll get that error. trust me.

it runs several hours here,the only error occured when i try to use sibelius in rewire mode,but i m pretty sure id depends on my ram,since when i tried to use sibelius with PT 8 i had a system crash every time

Ok, an update. Now I'm back to square one just with everyone else. It seems my computer froze due to the mac drives. I disabled the Mac drives and worked just on the Windows partition. I get the MF error occasionally but I can go on working. The screen freezes but the system is still responsive. However, when I closed the session I was working on, the .ptx file got unusable. For now on, I guess I'll simply use PT 10 for mastering, with the Slate FG-X plugin, not available in the OSX [k] world.

yes i did,but it s uselesws since once u install the patch it goes back to 10.3.0,and thats what i see,i don t know what harlock did but in my opinion it s a joke since he hasn t replied to any of the requests to give an explanation

If you are working on a patch that has enabled 10.3.1, .mp3 enabled, etc., that's awesome. I don't expect you to share but if you do, that's great too!

But to act like we've all missed something that Hardlock has done...and you include yourself in the "enlightened group", does not sit well with me. It's an arrogant attitude and seems to go against the design of this forum.
