anyone tried to get a HUI Midi controller to work with this PT release...?
If I try to set my AlphaTrack as a HUI controller PT freezes, if I confirm the setting with "OK" ..
And: I can't get it to launch anymore. I had to re-install PT again.

Btw: The 999/2 backup thing doesn't work for me... still getting MF error :-(

about mf message,just dont use sends section in protools,everithing else works exept for the mp3.you can use inserts freely with no problems,it worksstable for hours with no error messages.

This method may allow us to "play" with PT10 but it's kind of hard to mix correctly without using sends. I'm not complaining, I appreciate the work that has been done with this for a taste of PT10. I as well as everyone else can buy the damn thing if we really want to use it wink

yeah. after using this for a couple o days i just realised how shite this program is.
i dont care if its industry standard. i think serious engineers simply wouldnt use this crap.
i know its simple and stuff, but feature-wise its one of the worst daws i ever used. it has a nice gui for sure but it all ends there.

file management is absolute horror compared to live/studio one(best)/sonar/reaper.

the best pc daws todays are.:

Reaper.Studio One Prov2, Sequoia,SonarX1,Live8.2.2, Nuendo. big favourite : Cockos Reaper.

I need some one to help me out. The program is running really good for me. I have my plugs working & the program in not crashing on me at all. But for some reason every time I import a wave file in a session like say a beat & some vocals. They don't play back at the right tempo. Can some one tell me how to make sure my files get imported at the right tempo? I have never used PT before so I don't have any older sessions like some of you. So I'm trying to learn what ever ever I can. I'm sure I have a long way to go before I get everything down. Give me some info some one. Thanks in advance.

it s a matter of format,but it happens often if u drag the file,if u use the import option and convert it the file keeps its properties

I did import the file & convert it but it does the same thing every time no matter what files I import. If I can learn how to import my files in the right tempo I think I will really like PT & end up buying it. But since I can't import the files right I have not really been able to test it out the way I want to. Other then that this program is working really good. A lot of people posting that it don't work need t stop bitching about how it don't work right. I'm sure this tempo thing is just something I'm over looking. I'm bound to learn how to import my files at the right tempo soon or later. After that I need to learn how to make beats & record in the program. like I said I know I have a lot to learn with the program.

you was right. i was not converting the files the right way. & i was right as well it was just something I over looked. I have my files importing at the right tempo now. Now it's time to start recording & mixing. If I like the recording & mixing process in PT better then Samplitude Pro X. Its time to switch DAWS & start a new project with PR 10. I want to thank Team V.R. for giving us all the chance to test out PT 10.

Right every one this is how you get it running without any problems.

001. Download the setup from:CLICK ME

002. Install The Avid Virtual Instruments 10 Installer from: CLICK ME

003. Use the patch provided from this release.

004. now you have a working copy but do renumber to unistall the HD drivers and also the installer from this release is a BETA so it is very very buggy. So use the offical installer from their site,

i use Samplitude 12 Pro X Suite, i was lucky to get hold of the RETAIL ISO which is around 7.45GB and its better than SAM PRO X but every one has their own DAW's, groups like HY2ROGEN, CHANOS, REPT ETC ETC and people Like TRACER and others bring you these software for FREE and all we ask is just a little thanks .

All In All We had a quick Test Run at PT10 , And a Big Thanks goes to VR and the Team for There Hard Work and making it Possible . I know there are a few Probs with it , but we all get the Basic idea of what its like. Ive Tried all the ideas to get it to run smoother with no Joy , but im sure things will work out in the End ;)

this thing of mixing without sends is simply not true,i opened project i did with PT8,26 guitars.bass,percussion,every couple of tracks is sent to an aux track,loaded waves plugins,lexicon reverbs and some other stuff,just to check if it would crash,it works perfectly

Ok so I'm trying to make some sense of 22 pages of this thread and wanted to make sure I didn't miss something. Has anyone totally got rid of the MF compromise issue. I never had any other problems except this error. I think the only thing I forgot to try is removing the Avid HD Drivers. I will do this when I get home.

Internet not attached to computer (Pro Tools doesn't show up in Firewall settings anyway)
Newest Ilok drivers
Used official installer form Avid's site
Probably forgetting some other things

i used to get it alot in the begining,then i tried a new project with lots of audio,began to mix it with inserts,as soon as i opened a send,the mf started to show.i than got back to an early version of that project,before i started to use sends,it worked without one mf message for a long time,5 hours...i dont think it is coincidence.only sends,groups and bus works ok,only the sends,i am starting to send channels to an aux with sends and soon after i get the message.

Some update on my experience so far. First off, I'm running this in two Macs with Bootcamp. I haven't done any real life mixing yet due to time constraints, but I'll get to do that today hopefully. There's one thing I found:

If you install third-party plugins wrongly or if the cracks are buggy, the "MF... " horror message appears. PT needs clean installs. So far, I've only installed Addictive Drums, EZ Drummer, W9, Kontakt 5, Blue Cat, and the Bias Suite. It seems to hold up ok. I found this when I installed Slate FG-X without running it as administrator. The final part of the install failed. I opened PT and the MF thing showed up on on me for the first time. I fixed it by uninstalling PT, cleaning the registry, and reinstalling fresh again.

I guess PT should be the last install of all, after all plugins so to make sure all plugs install ok.

I'll use sends today and report on the issue if any.

This is a great DAW. The Sound is fantastic! Sequoia is great and Sonar also. But in my opinion this sounds better.

But with the mf error it is useless. Hope we can get a properly cracked release, else it is useless for working with it.

MAGIX products are so under rated right now but they will get there one day and personally i think SAMPLITUDE and SEQUOIA are better than PT, what is industry standard?

Most well know producers i knw use ABLETON, CUBASE, LOGIC, FL STUDIO and REASON. from the small bedroom producers to big producers like DR. DRE everyone uses sum kind of cracked version of software for sure.
