Spectrasonics - Keyscape Library for Omnisphere 2 - TZ GROUP screenshot
Omnisphere 2 Library | 72 GB
KEYSCAPE™ is an extraordinary new virtual instrument featuring the largest selection of collector keyboards in the world. From “holy grail” pianos to stunning keyboards you didn’t even know existed, this is a keyboardist’s dream come true.

Ten years in the making, each of these sought-after keyboards was carefully restored and then deeply multisampled by the renowned Spectrasonics Sound Development Team. These compelling and highly expressive sounds will inspire you to PLAY!

The process began with going to the ends of the earth to find and restore each one of these rare and incredibly special instruments with the top technicians and expert craftsmen from each discipline. We even went as far as spending years redoing these instruments from scratch again and again until they were totally “right.” This incredible attention to detail and meticulous care given to each instrument allowed us to develop these sounds to a whole new level of authentic tone.

While it’s every performing keyboardist’s dream to have the very best instruments instantly available anywhere, Keyscape is equally useful in the studio for producers and composers. Since these instruments can be easily transformed into amazing “unreal” sounds with the powerful STEAM Engine® under the hood, Keyscape easily turns these coveted instruments from History into innovative new sounds of the Future.

Custom Controls
The Custom Controls presented for each Patch allow you to go far beyond the original sound. The intuitive interface includes useful performance controls and high-quality creative effects processing specially crafted for each Patch. Hundreds of included Patches showcase the remarkable versatility and ability to dramatically customize these iconic sounds to your music.

Authentic Expression
With many of these collector instruments, it’s really the imperfections that make them so interesting. Instead of cleaning up all the quirks and noises they make, we made sure to closely capture them since they are a big part of their vibe. In addition to that, our software team closely modeled the authentic behavior and mojo of vintage amplifiers, classic effects units, and unique subtleties like mechanical noises, pedal noises, and release overtones to bring these sounds to a whole new level of authenticity and dynamic expression.

Hybrid "Duo" Sounds
Along with the hundreds of patches based on the 36 instrument models, Keyscape includes special hybrid "Duo" sounds which combine two of the instruments to create something entirely new. The unique timbre of these Duo patches make them some of the most creative and inspiring sounds in Keyscape!

Omnisphere Integration
As a bonus for Omnisphere 2 users, Keyscape also integrates fully as a satellite instrument within the Omnisphere® interface. Keyscape will simply appear as a library inside Omnisphere’s browser for users of both plugins. This capability allows Omnisphere 2 users to harness additional functionality like Live Mode, Stack Mode, Multitimbrality, endless FX routings and the full synthesis power of the STEAM Engine® to explore endless new sonic possibilities and combinations.

Technical Specifications
• Huge library with over 500 “Best-in-class” sounds, 36 Instrument Models and Hybrid “Duo” Patches
• Deeply Multisampled sounds with up to 32-way velocity switching, Round Robins, etc.
• Mechanical Noise, Pedal Noise and Release Noise behavior modeling
• Patches feature authentic circuit modeled amplifiers and effects
• Available as Download (77 GB) or Boxed USB Drives Edition
• Optional “Lite” installation (30 GB) for stage use
• Full Omnisphere® 2 integration

Thanks a lot! It's now working after I got some "Cannot load SoundSource '(name of the instrument)' from Directory 'Keyscape Library'..."

- My mistake was: I didn't copy the files from folder 'Keyspace' (be aware: Keyspace vs Keyscape) to 'Keyscape Library->Keyboards'

- Now I have 53 'db' files in 'Keyboards' folder:
(C:)/ProgramData/Spectrasonics/STEAM/Keyspace/Soundsources/Factory/Keyspace Library/Keyboards

- I have no 'Keyspace' folder in 'STEAM/Omnisphere...Factory' as mentioned above

Is the 53 'db' file-number in 'Keyboards' correct?

And how to: Refresh SoundSource Browser? - coudn't figure it out yet :p (I just find 'Patch Browser' with the circle-arrow)

If you are not familiar with Omnisphere, time to read it's manual I think! :)

Load a patch, make sure you are in the Omnisphere view, not the Keyscape view (easiest just to start with an Omnisphere patch) then hit the "A" tab, and if a sample is selected, you can click there to open up the soundsource (ie, samples) browser. If the patch uses the VA waveforms, switch to samples first.

So basically, the soundsource browser is how you can load in a set of samples from the factory/library into oscillator A or B.

It has it's own "refresh" button.

thats it...the circle arrow in the patch browser window (click on the tiny magnifying glass next to the word patch browser to open the patch browser window) the circular arrow is down in the bottom right hand corner with other icons for move up move down etc.. once you do that and wait for it to refresh (arrow stop spinning) then you 'll have the keyscape LibraryKeyboards folder structure in Omnisphere factory etc....stick your 53 db files in the keyboards folder THERE not in the keyboards folder in SteamKeyscape etc.., remove Omnisphere close your DAW then delete the file 'zmap.index' in STEAMOmnisphereSoundsourcesFactoryKeyscape library..open omnisphere again, do another soundsource refresh and it'll rebuild the zmap.index file and should be working now when you click on a preset
EDIT: oh maybe i've been doing it wrong :) maybe there's more than one way

After reading the instructions inside and all the threads here, too, I had no problem to get this baby to work on a Windows 10-64bit machine with Cubase 8.5.
I am so happy. Thank you very much.

YOU are not doing something well and that's all. Stop whining like a little bitch here. It's not cracker's fault, it's not Spectrasonic's fault, it's yours and just that. Why 99% of the other users (including me) got it to work? So shut up and don't waste space here.

Most of the people downloading manically won't ever use this seriously in a pro production nor will ever here a significant difference to some pimped Arturia keyboards in a mix, but hey - it is Omnisphere, it is big, it is free, so why not add to the 'never-use-again-collection' on harddrive 24?

Like I do.

Most people (and also the original instructions) are saying to put the Keyscape Library folder here:

STEAM\Keyscape\Soundsources\Factory\

On the other hand, bumyummer said to put it here:

STEAM\Omnisphere\Soundsources\Factory\

When following the original instructions, I could see Keyscape inside Omnisphere, but when attempting to open any patch I would get the same error: Keyscape Library not found. Then I moved the Keyscape Library folder, according to what bumyummer said, and now I can open patches. Just thought I would mention this in case it might help someone.

Thanks again to Olymoon for all the work that went into this.

It's kinda like: if it works 4u, then it works 4u. But I think if we ever get standalone Keyscape then all this dicking around might cause problems. And it takes a brave slut 2 ever say that out loud! The original instructions work fine, tbh. Just need to hit refresh button I think. It all just worked fine first time, for me...

is duo maps stage and velocity curve and vinyl keyscape 01 fx's?
if so are they necessary to download? also, if they are necessary, where do you place them? on the keyboards folder?
  Resident 1.07.2015 4 649
+647
I believe the duo maps (stage & studio) are needed. I know that vinyl is. They all go in the Keyboards dir. The velocity curve should already be in ur Omni folder, but (when we get Keyscape VSTi) u will prolly need 2 put the velocity curve in the right folder. That folder is: \STEAM\Keyscape\Settings Library\Presets\Factory

My problem of being without audio, it will be because my Omnisphere 2 is not complete?

any error mssg? did you try all instruments? did you update to latest omnisphere2?
  guest 7.06.2014 1 111

you are another smart dude with smart questions/answers. spectrasonics specifically says you need the 2.3 version to run keyscape, he would not be able to load keyscape if he didnt install the 2.3 update. are you brain damaged? did you read all the comments? read before talking. the no audio problem won't give you any errors. it just won't make any sounds but load the library fine and be a mute software without audio coming out of it. useless SCAM cheap software

Do you have an Expression Pedal connected tó your controller?
Push it down, than the sound will be audible.
This was the case at my side. Made me crazy before I found out...

Ok, I'm going to post this for other Windows 10 users like me, to help those like me that wasted hours trying to install this release.

After you download and extract everything, the first thing you need to do is nuke the instructions.txt file. Run a low-level hex editor, find it on your hard disk and wipe it out, write over it with something else. Ok, now you can proceed as follows:

The extracted folders include a Keyscape folder which itself holds four subfolders: "Defaults, Documentation, Settings Library, and Soundsources". Copy this Keyscape folder to

C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\

All the other extracted folders contain *.db files that need to be copied to

C:\PrgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Omnisphere\Soundsources\Factory\Keyscape Library\Keyboards

To facilitate moving these *.db files I used the search feature of my file manager app "xplorer2" by searching the download folder with the wildcard *.db* and then selecting and copying.

As for the infamous "zmap.index" file, the one that comes with the download, and ends up in

C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Keyscape\Soundsources\Factory\Keyscape Library\

based on the above instructions, well this one is not used by Omnisphere 2 apparently, because the one that gets built when you launch the VST appears in

C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Omnisphere\Soundsources\Factory\Keyscape Library\

and this one is the good one, having size 115,758 bytes.

I did all of the above and all the keyboards work.

Yes, I think you're noticing what was pointed out above by bumyummer, and then by me. The Keyscape Library folder doesn't belong here:

STEAM\Keyscape\Soundsources\Factory\

It belongs here:

STEAM\Omnisphere\Soundsources\Factory\

So please, tell me why I should click the like button? I'm tired of these holier than thou suppliers thinking they deserve a God damn reach around every time they put something up here thats in demand.

maybe you should ask for a refund

My LA Custom takes far too long to load. Probably 5 minutes or more. Is this normal?

I'm on windows 7 have 8gb of RAM and CPU is Intel Core (TM) i3 2.40 GHz.
I'm running Omnisphere/Keyscape out of a Toshiba 3.0 USB hard drive. I'm sure that has something to do with it?

However, other instruments such as Chimeatron, Classic Toy Piano, load faster, probably because they're smaller, right? I mean LA Custom is 14.5 GBs so that could be the case.

Anyone know if its possible to speed it up?
