This is a little story about 4 people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I don't know how is the situation with free accounts.
Some years ago I was using Filepost, also premium of course.
Filepost was bullshit, I had always problem with broken downloads.
Unlike Filepost Ul.to work really very reliable, thats why I set at JDownloader 5 downloads simultaneously.
Up to 6 I get also broken downloads, but 5 works properly.
At Filepost I was able to make max 2 download simultaneously and I had still broken downloads sometimes.

that's not the point, i can have 9 parallel download with no broken link, but still Ul is slower than putlocker, 50 kb for free user and 1,5 in premium vs 2mb for putlocker free.. no competition, and links are solid in the same way..

I'm reading some of your posts on this thread.... I know you devote a good deal of time to this site, and so I don't want to be too harsh with a difference of opinion, but the fact is I just can't get my head around how you can possibly justify some of what you're saying.

The issue isn't people being "lazy" when it comes to higher quality free links -- you're just being insulting when you say that. Often I've seen some uploaders here (and people who come here often know just who I'm talking about....) block people from posting alternative links when they first put up a post. Adopting that policy awhile back, based on the demands to Saint by some of the uploaders, has probably done more to direct people away from this site than anything else. Now people looking for alternatives just go to another site rather than look for additional alternatives in a particular thread. You drove people away with those policies, no one else!

Secondly, when you call people names on that basis, you're just not seeing the forest from the trees man,... if someone here can click on a bookmark and go to another site that has free links that are faster, or go to a torrent site where they'll be able to download something more quickly for free, how do you figure laziness is the underlying problem? It doesn't even make sense. You know that people will always opt for that which becomes more convenient. If other options become more convenient than the system that's been developed here, and people choose to take advantage of that convenience, how do you figure it's appropriate to criticize those people as if they're doing something wrong? Maybe the problem is that something is wrong here? Besides, there's plenty of people that like to download stuff who don't have the type of internet connections that make it practical to upload massive files. I don't think that makes them lazy.

I see some here, our fearless leader Saint for one, calling those who talk up hosters like putlocker "whiners". It's a shame to see that happen since it makes you appear more desperate than helpful. You know full well why people are suggesting hosters like that. I think you also probably see more people showing up this time around on this poll than did last time asking for that. In reading this thread there's definitely more opposition being voiced than last time around. The writing is on the wall. People generally want convenience and speed, and most are not real concerned with how much money someone makes off these downloads -- if anything many people here look down on the practice of 'warez for profit'. And you know something? to an increasing degree, people will find something more ingratiating elsewhere if you don't start thinking about how to provide it here. Calling people names won't resolve it. Figuring out how to provide the best possible service will.

Finally, I see a few people here that seem to be under the foggy impression that were uploaders to make less money, that somehow the supply of warez'd goods would dry up. NONSENSE!~ Yeh, it might shrivel for a few weeks if some of these guys who try to make a living this way call it a day. But then other people will appear to take their place. That's how it's been on the scene for a long, long time. The scene doesn't depend on Sunny. It's the other way around. The sooner you realize that, the sooner things will get better.

Passwords will make no change when it comes to takedowns. Filehosters don't check content of files, they simply block every link as soon as it's reported.

If there's one thing I've learned in my lifetime it's people and you should know that I never point fingers needlessly and if I'm in the wrong I apologize for it. As far as I know one person here blocks mirrors and as annoying as it is it would even be more annoying if he wasn't here being that he uploads a ton of stuff day in and day out. funtime allows mirrors, GonBi allows mirrors, Horsemen allows mirrors, Kookaboo allows mirrors, KRock allows mirrors, Quakeaudio allows mirrors, and just about EVERY other uploader but for some reason even if that's an option on those posts where are all the mirrors to putlocker? The proof is in the pudding man, we judge people on the combination of their vision and their action not one or the other. Also if people want an alternative to locked mirrors on Sunny's posts then grab the files from an ftp if you have access and post here first, then you get to set the terms for mirrors. I make it no secret that I think the mirror locking function should not exist UNLESS they are using that money to buy stuff in which case they want to recoup their investment so being that we are not being asked for money, or anything for that matter, we should just let it be. I can also understand SAiNT's frustration with seeing something that he invested so much time and effort into having problems because of this...which it most certainly would as some really underestimate just how much Sunny posts here. Convenience and speed is a nice way to dress it up: people want everything for nothing. They want mirrors to Putlocker...but they don't want to post them and keep them alive. They want to download free software but they don't want to pay for service. They're being altruistic with someone else's investment of time and energy and that is not right. If you guys want Putlocker you can have it today but at least SOMEONE...ANYONE has to put in the effort to make it happen. I never said the warez scene depended on the cyberlocker uploaders as that is a contradiction in and of itself being that the warez scene doesn't even want their work shared with the public. I said that nobody is stepping up to make this great new utopia happen and that is why we are limited with our options not because the staff is preventing it from happening. Now tell me I am wrong rico, tell me that what I just said isn't the truth.

By encrypting names in a passworded archive you just complicate their job.

I know it is not the ideal solution. The ideal solution would be a hoster that would be out of jurisdiction, or at least complicated enough (like in philipine for instance)

Why not use limelinx or wikisend for the small stuff. No ads, no wait, no stupid codes or pics, what's not to like? Kookaboo seems to be the only one sensible enough to use these here.

ps: UL only allows me one free d/l per day per ip, no matter what I do.

But anybody who wants to kill your links never even need to check inside the archives.
If they want to kill a link they only have to report it to UL and then it's immediately blocked. This is why passwords won't slow down the process.

Uploaded sucks, it,s slow and it wont let you pay with paypal. A real pain in the ass...

+1 Honestly I wish I were wrong because then maybe I would have more hope for us...and by us I mean the human race because this isn't the only arena that we see this expression of the human condition.

People with 0 posts = uploading warez is not their hustle. Like me, Cataly5t, or anyone else with 0 posts. But you exploit it like it stands for something on an intellectual basis.

I appreciate your response, especially the tone in which you present it. Like I said earlier, I know you put alot into this site, and I don't wish to be arguing with you given all your efforts.

That said, I don't think the issue is being "right" or "wrong" as you imply. It's a difference in perception and point of view. I remember when this discussion went on awhile back, there was definitely some venom going on. A good deal of that concerned the degree to which Sunny was being allowed to seemingly call the shots, combined with the fact that all Sunny's ideas were uniformly very, very generous towards Sunny :) I remember thinking at the time that it was very bad for this site as it shifted control from the site management to someone who had a limited idea about profiting from this site and cared little about it beyond that. Let's face facts; if everyone stopped coming to this site, but one person remained that was willing to give Sunny as much money as he made from all the other people combined, Sunny would care less and will be perfectly happy-- Sunny's just counting pennies here. The problem is, you'll have a site that's dying and then dead with that formula. Combined with many of Sunny's 'hard-elbowing' tactics with other uploaders, something seemed to be going wrong. When one person gets too much control it can be to the detriment of the enterprise as a whole.

Since then I've seen many uploaders seem to disappear here, many people here go to other sites (probably one or two in particular and you know what I'm talking about), and more and more people posting comments who have a tiny number of total posts, which suggests veterans are moving on and being replaced by newbs -- not a good sign and it devalues what goes on here and the level of knowledge that's available.

If you adopt policies that don't work well, and make a few people happy while making far more people unhappy, it just doesn't work well to then turn around and blame it all on the laziness of the many. Is that a factor? Yeh, of course it is to some degree. Fast food chains do tremendous business because people don't have the time and are too lazy to prepare food that's more nutritious. That doesn't mean I can't look at the fast food place and say, 'can't you offer something that's a bit healthier here?' Like I said, perception and point of view. I think you need to start trying to get healthier here again, rather than focus on blaming the end user of your 'product'. You let one person get a large amount of control here, and since then more and more people have been moving away -- to paraphrase your post, 'now tell me what I've said isn't the truth?'.

Yes Cataly5t has not made articles, wasn't thanked and is relatively new on board. But he is actually a moderator, likewise a Captain of a specific sector, so it's good to have a balanced and understanding person "leading the ship" through a wavy Ocean.

If you have a premium uploadedto account... the transfer speed is BLAZING fast.. i love it, i'm committed to it & have a great system implemented w/ this website & uploadedto.

Just throwing my thoughts out there.

They are either an uploader, or not. I am not an uploader. I may post a few articles in the future, but not to the extent it would be profitable. In my last comment it pertained to the first statement you made in this whole string, and also the "not a reply" I got from you in actual regards to what I said about your statement. And now for a second time, you have another "not a reply" and shift it to Cataly5t when clearly my whole topic was about how you entered the arena on a bad foot and what your interests/concerns truly are. You still haven't swam in that ocean.

Well.... Most of us speak in English. And UL.to is some weirdo language. I didnt understand what kinda language is this. So i prefer Rapidgator.

There is a language selector on the uploaded website.... Look at the bottom right of the screen.... and select English as the language for the website..

If you mean the Captchas that uploaded uses...This is not a specific language (OK, maybe its french but this would be equal to if it wouldnt be any language at all ). The Captchas come from Google service ReCaptcha and are words or just letters that left over by googles automatic book scanning service. The number plates you sometimes see are house numbers from google street view that couldnt be recognized automatically. So when you solve captchas that came from ReCaptcha you help Google!
