KatFile will be Discontinued... one day screenshot
we'll be discontinuing KatFile as our primary mirror soon, so please do not buy or prolong your premium.

UPD: so after reading all the comments and reviewing the rating, i've decided not to replace KF until there will be a really decent alternative, because the only one i had in mind is NitroFlare, which is not that much better than KF, but at least they are one of the strongest on the market.

Remember, to me the top criteria is reliability, which means that FS has to be around for at least several years and developed good reputation;
it also has to be widely used elsewhere, so you wouldn't have to buy premium just for AudioZ.

most of the alternatives that you mentioned are either new, have bad reputation, don't work somewhere or for someone.
Torrents are off the table. It was almost perfect file sharing protocol, but these days they are so massively blocked and even prosecuted in some countries, that i simply don't see any future for torrents on this layer of internet.
I had high hopes for iPFS since they started and i keep watching it, but even so far iPFS doesn't work as it supposed to.

therefore let's leave things as they are for now, but please don't pay for the annual premium expecting it to last in this unstable industry.

That was my favourite one! They treated their free users the best out of all file sharing services. Luckily I got linksnappy now.

Damn. I wish we could have a torrent system. some of us are from the 3rd world countries, and p2p is the best, cheapest and ideal choice, in order to have access to all the goodies this platform has to offer. KATfile was a bit friendly compared to the others. Pretty sure Admin and the mods are working on better alternatives. Because these link services are just more hurdles. Regardless, i can't complain much. Thanks for your services!

Problem with torrent is who's gonna keep seeding for months or years for that particular file.

Maybe AZ and RU should join hands

Exactly...
Torrents are no good.
All torrent speeds are ridiculously slow.

You've obviously never used the Russian place. Or your port forwarding isn't configured well. Even really old audio stuff comes thundering down for me.

Magnet links from the Ru source are lightning fast. Occasionally REALLY old torrents can be slow or don't fully complete, but the speed & convenience great. The Ru site is not updated as quickly. There is another Spanish/English site that deals in 'Audio Tools' which uses ufile . io as its free file hosting which is pretty good and fair to free users.

You're thinking of something else, not torrents .

So you think premium hosts are a better solution? If nobody downloads, the links will be dead very soon. Or DMCA - also results in dead links ex. Serum lol and where can one find the files then: P2P (lol). In both cases torrent lives longer, potentially forever; DMCA is ineffective against P2P. Oh yeah there is also download speed discrimination with premium hosts (no resume support too) unlike P2P where everybody is equal and gets fair share of goodies plus faster download speed cause crazy many peers.

Torrents are allowed here. The choice comes form you, the users of torrents to seed or not.
The few times torrents were used by posters, no one seeded, so it simply die.
Are you ready to keep your computer on 24 / 7 ?

Yeah you are right. That's why users from websites like audionews face ratio issues. There are rules. Even if we start such a ratio rule thing, the problem is most of the users won't be able to download at all in the future, coz most of them are leechers and it would piss off a lot of them

I've heard about seedbox but never got to try it, it could work but would have hosting costs

I wouldn't call 5$ a month expensive

Makes sense now. Understood. maybe mediafire, Mega.NZ or other nicer alternatives we don't have to pay extra buck for. Because internet is pretty expensive on my side of the globe.

clicknupload upvote. They are the best at the moment and very convenient for free users. No waiting times between downloads etc.

But wait, if that were the case, the Russian site that many of us know would have all its torrents down, and sometimes when I can't download from here, I download from there. It's true that older torrents go down due to lack of seeding, but here the links also go down because they get banned, and sometimes there's no one to upload them again.

The truth is that here, torrents never last more than 4 days...

I have no problem with seed boxen. You could hook AZ up to AN? Problem with AN though is the ratios. There doesn't seem to be enough of a user base there to allow everyone to maintain the ratios. It seems to only count uploaded bits (not seed time) toward ratio maintenance which makes it almost impossible to keep ratio in the green. If AZ went that route I would hope there would be some adjustment in how ratios are maintained. There is the pay-for route. But the problem I have with that is that there doesn't seem to be any regard to user anonymity. Make the pay-for able to be kept anonymous and I don't have a problem with that either.

You don't necessarily need to keep your computer on 24/7 unless literally no one else will seed.. Maybe having rules around torrent downloads where you have to seed a certain amount or something will help.

Most things from here also get uploaded to Rutracker and they are seeded ETERNALLY. Someone always seeds there

I'm sure it's a tiny number of people who do all the heavy lifting over there, God bless them.

torrents can be re-upped, just like all the other re-up requests here.
I dont think there would be anything better than torrents for here, its hardly a trusty library that goes back several years, when it gets DMCA takedowns all day is it?

Its a bulletin board, some posts last a few hours, its not a library of warez

And anyway, torrents definitely outlast filehosting websites who pull the plug on the business

I feel like if you're truly concerned about torrents not being the solution for this, maybe just give it a try and see if it works or if it doesn't. If it doesn't we could always go back to something else no?
  Member 11.06.2022 1 17

Why 24 / 7 lol, there are thousands of people leeching audio P2P goodies every day. Based on the average audio distribution: after approx. 1 hour there will be already 5 seeders. The next hour 10. The next hour 20 seeders. The next day 80 seeders.

And if there are no seeders after like 5 years? So what, just sit and wait until a peer shows up. Anyone could seed, no account needed and no upload needed just rehash your files and seed done.

@ firman1asd, Nickmusic, Jacques Todd.
You speak generally, I speak about AudioZ.
Here each time torrent were used they lasted 2 or 3 days never more.
Torrent are implemented so why don't you begin creating torrent mirrors where mirrors are allowed? What are you waiting for?

Unfortunately everybody wants everything but do nothing.

Let me see, wait a moment. I don't fully understand, and I'm not an expert on the subject. Why should we all have our PCs running 24/7, and they only last for 4 days, while on the Russian site, they last for months or even years? Of course, do torrents from years ago still have seeders? (I never remember which one is seeder and which one is leecher). But, for example, on one occasion, I searched on Google for a torrent, let's say, FabFilter, and when I downloaded it, it said, "This torrent is already on your list," meaning I had already downloaded the Russian torrent, as far as I know. From my limited information, you can share torrent information—I'm not sure if it's a tracker or something, but it's like feedback, without the need for it to be the same torrent. So, we would be more and more, the Russian site, AZ, and whoever else joins. Well, I think that was always the idea of sharing on the internet, right? I might be skipping things I don't know about, perhaps.
If you only look at one side of the coin, you'll never truly know if it's a coin.
