UPD: so after reading all the comments and reviewing the rating, i've decided not to replace KF until there will be a really decent alternative, because the only one i had in mind is NitroFlare, which is not that much better than KF, but at least they are one of the strongest on the market.

Remember, to me the top criteria is reliability, which means that FS has to be around for at least several years and developed good reputation;
it also has to be widely used elsewhere, so you wouldn't have to buy premium just for AudioZ.

most of the alternatives that you mentioned are either new, have bad reputation, don't work somewhere or for someone.
Torrents are off the table. It was almost perfect file sharing protocol, but these days they are so massively blocked and even prosecuted in some countries, that i simply don't see any future for torrents on this layer of internet.
I had high hopes for iPFS since they started and i keep watching it, but even so far iPFS doesn't work as it supposed to.

therefore let's leave things as they are for now, but please don't pay for the annual premium expecting it to last in this unstable industry.

uptobox issue is temporary. Don't know what exactly is wrong and how they lost access to their servers but they are working on it and hopefully should be up and running in the future.

I can't remember exactly why, but the mods have already said that Mega can't be used. I think it was because uploaded files have a download limit or something. Or maybe it was the uploader account that had a download limit? Either way, it has already been rejected by them AFAIK.

Can we at least make sure that the new mirror hoster will be part of the Real-Debrid family since I'm under the impression that's the most promoted and therefore used downloader here on AZ is Real-Debrid.
Because I like I imagine many, have also recently renewed my subscription on R-D

it's a shame. KAT worked perfectly with LS, many times even better than RG. They were always my primary links after UL's departure.

In any case if it's a necessary decision, and I'm sure it's a thoughtful decision, please replace it with a host that is rock solid with LS otherwise RG ends up being the only alternative, overused and without reliable long term availability alternative mirrors (KAT seemed reliable also long term).
LS sometimes gets into trouble with RG and problems start, anyone who regularly uses RG links through LS knows what I'm talking about ("there are no servers available", "the file doesn't exist", etc.).

Totally agreed with you. What is also important is that everyone thinks 360 and that the solution/alternative to KF is not going to be detrimental to the entire site.

often I report rapidgator and the admin over at linksnappy says it is not their fault

and I tell'em okay...

So I use katfile and it's faster and never breaks and always available

So... not into this decision at all

KF really grew on me. as i had problems setting up my account - couldnt login, i shot them a message, they fixed it and i got a free 1 month premium account.

uploading and download was always fast for me.

torrents, simply NO! they will die in a wimp.

i think i understand what you mean, but any entity or person can join a private tracker and at this point, everyone will be aware of this site and i am not sure if it would be a good idea to assume that torrents would not pose a security risk for any user, even if AZ would turn into a private site, after it has been the top audio related warez size in the world for many years, with numerous developers knowing about its existence and being on it

it doesn't really matter if you torrent on a public or private tracker - doing so either way without a VPN is not recommended. Even public trackers are not necessarily a risk to the end-user if a proper VPN is employed and torrent client is setup correctly. Problems still arise with private trackers who employ ratios that have smaller user-bases. Since everyone is seeding and the user-base is smaller it becomes very difficult to maintain ratios because everyone on there is seeding not downloading. In order to gain ratio credit someone has to download from someone who is seeding. When the seeders way outnumber the down-loaders it makes for a very evident catch-22 situation...

Yes IP's are visible on private trackers as well. However a VPN fixes that pretty quick and one should never torrent anywhere without one.

I definitely agree what you write. Furthermore, it is not necessary to introduce the option since torrent links have always been allowed but the majority do not use this system also for the reasons that you have also listed and therefore ultimately are never present even if possible.
In any case, RT always remains for those who love torrents...

I have never seen anything available for DL on AZ that was available thru torrent... It's always seemingly FFS. Am I missing something ?

Omnisphere, if I remember well. The torrent lasted 2 days because no one seeded.
Torrent is implemented. You can post torrent mirrors where mirrors are allowed.

I "thanked" the post because I'm grateful for what you do, and I'm okay with whatever you decide. I've always preferred rapidgator anyway, so whatever host you deem fit to replace KAT that is supported by real-debrid, I'm fine with it. Happy holidays boss!
