KatFile will be Discontinued... one day screenshot
we'll be discontinuing KatFile as our primary mirror soon, so please do not buy or prolong your premium.

UPD: so after reading all the comments and reviewing the rating, i've decided not to replace KF until there will be a really decent alternative, because the only one i had in mind is NitroFlare, which is not that much better than KF, but at least they are one of the strongest on the market.

Remember, to me the top criteria is reliability, which means that FS has to be around for at least several years and developed good reputation;
it also has to be widely used elsewhere, so you wouldn't have to buy premium just for AudioZ.

most of the alternatives that you mentioned are either new, have bad reputation, don't work somewhere or for someone.
Torrents are off the table. It was almost perfect file sharing protocol, but these days they are so massively blocked and even prosecuted in some countries, that i simply don't see any future for torrents on this layer of internet.
I had high hopes for iPFS since they started and i keep watching it, but even so far iPFS doesn't work as it supposed to.

therefore let's leave things as they are for now, but please don't pay for the annual premium expecting it to last in this unstable industry.

Katfile and RG are the best Hoster in my opinion.
I’m here since 2012, only one that was better in that time was ul.to (Rip my little friend).

Initially, when katfile was introduced due to the death of UL, I was a bit skeptical. I remember that many, like me, were skeptical about the correct functioning and speed of katfile.

According to my personal experience, katfile turned out to be an excellent hoster and therefore I changed my mind. Using it via RealDebrid I have never had any problems, except for a few particular cases. But on those very few occasions when the download via kat was not available (max 3/4 hours), I calmly fell back on RG.
In any case, I am sure that SAiNT and collaborators will choose well as they always have, even if they have to replace katfile.
I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy holiday.

MEGA ,clicknupload or mediafire would be good, KAT is definitely better than RG for availability/reliability if one is not a premium or link snappy sub

MF doesnt work, if you click on the link, MF will simply say that link has expired and once you did that, you cant reach that link from your ip adress. its very annoying. i had to use torbrowser to get the file finally.

CNU doesnt have a good infrastructure and file being simply not reachable for days ... or download restarting endless in JD2.

MEGA very hard limits if files have a huge activity after upload. (not talking about that you only have 20GB free for uploading, so uploaders either pay something, or they would have to create new free 20GB accounts)

KF is still the better solution imo.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

any word on why this step is being taken?

i received lots of complaints on KF. i'm surprised that so many members defend it. let's see how the rating of this post goes.

If I may, I have a few suggestions:

It should be recommended policy that all members use jdownloader to download files so the majority of users have a similar experience downloading from filehosts as reasonably possible. Katfile & Rapidgator work perfectly fine through jdownloader. There are too many variables with VPNs, browsers and geolocation that affect direct downloading from a filehost which lead to frivolous and unnecessary complaints.

Clicknupload, mediafire or 1fichier links are longtime reputable filehosters that are already occasionally used by uploaders for the benefit of the community as a whole and are greatly appreciated by the majority of casual users. At least one of these filehosts should be mandatory for all new uploads.

I'd also suggest that link URLs be encoded in base64 so that they last longer. Especially any files sourced from Splice which usually require reupload within 24 hours.

I can't use 1fichier because my ISP banned it. Clicknupload keeps files practically forever, but download speed is limited to 70 Kbps for people with free accounts. 50 for unregistered.

I would rather use Katfiles, personally.

I'm not so sure why Rapidgator considered as a bad choice . the other day I was looking for some Zero-G stuff and man.. I was surprised that the links from 2012 are still active and downloadable.
and please SAiNT, keep KATfile as a primary mirror pretty please!

Yes, I have no issue with RG, as download speed for free users is comparable to Katfiles.. it's just a little more arcane a process of human verification, but not by much.

I pay about 100 dollars a year for Rapidgator to download from Audioz to Movies Sports etc . I think when we get for free all these plugins the 100 dollars a year is a joke . . Also the right thing would be in the start of the year to inform everyone that by the end of this year KATFile will be discontinued for example in order for the people with Premium Accounts to have time not to renew it or to chose someone else .

I think it would okay that you keep Katfile while showing us the new alternative, if the alternative works it would be fine to drop KF, if not show us another alternative till theres something better than KF. Right now I prefer KT to RG like many others. Also I think that some users misunderstood the vote activity upvoting this new being against the drop of Katfile

After reading though this tread to me it should be up to the uploaders.
Since they are the ones that have to deal with it all the time.

After years of free DLing from RG, I have finally bought premium from them for 2 years and just love it. It always works perfectly for me and super fast with Jdownloader. It would be awful for me if you take RG away.

Lol, Deepbrid just finally started consistently generating links from KatFile, after being more miss than hit since UL went down and Kat became one of the primary hosts.

Hopefully whatever takes the place of Kat will play friendly with Deepbrid or be one of the sites like Clicknupload, Mediafire, or Mega.

Pixeldrain would be awesome too.

Have to admit it was the right choice at that time .Seems there is no alternatives at the moment especialy also it yet became a strong hoster .Also with ublock it kind of skipping the freeload countdown .
Mega and such are not suitable for that game , guess why ........
...and clickn is clickscam only fast with fresh ip .imho

One of the great things about Katfile is even when post has been taken down on audioz, the links on Katfile still remain for a day or two after so youcan finish download if it is a large library.

3 days ago I bought an account for one month

It might be good if you let us all know a month in advance when exactly you intend to cancel the Katfile

At first glance, it's really strange to see these bright red numbers next to you SAiNT

You know Zhumo, I think there's a good point to be made along those lines. I think there might have been even more people downvoting this but they get reluctant to do so because it's SAiNT posting it and they confuse downvoting the content with downvoting the poster. When I first saw the post I was going to downvote, then said 'better not' because of that. Came back a few hours later and finally did it. Something to consider...

Thank you Bennett, you have described the psychology behind it very well. It makes you realise how effective the mechanism of this small number can be.

That was the reason for me to mention it beforehand.

It's immediately more relaxing to see the minus number in a neutral colour now :D

Hmmm. I don't know if it's really like that, huh? If Saint says tomorrow, 'guys, vote to remove Katfile and leave only RG,' I think many of us would give it a negative vote, not because it's against him personally, and I believe that most people understand this. But just as I think, I would say, 'Well, look Saint, if several people have complained about Katfile, okay, put something in its place. For example, I voted for a comment in favor of Mediafire. I think many of us have remained neutral, not voting for or against because we consider a second option. Several of us have suggested the need for a replacement that can be generated for free. If it were as per your theory, then we would all have said, 'Oh yes, Saint, remove Katfile and leave only RG.' And that's not the case.
If you only look at one side of the coin, you'll never truly know if it's a coin.

Thanks Ryck, I think I understand what you mean.

In retrospect, I'm no longer really sure about my choice, I'd prefer to withdraw it because it was from a subjective perspective. At first I didn't realise how much of a burden the host are on the contributors.
As a consumer you're secondary. If the contributors are doing well, we generally get more out of it.

If sometimes we don't realize and think that it's the best for us, and we forget that there are people behind all of this, and they do it more out of passion than for money. I'm not saying that one does it intentionally (not thinking about them), sometimes one doesn't realize. And as you well say, or what I thought I understood. That here we are all one, the admins, the moderators, those who upload content, us who download the content, etc. It's all a chain, and if something benefits, especially in the upper chain, it will also benefit us. Imagine uploading things and things and sometimes they don't even thank you, on the sister site they even complain about certain content, as if they were paying some tariff. In short.
If you only look at one side of the coin, you'll never truly know if it's a coin.

@ArcticStorm - I agree Mediafire can be a pain for click through and Jdownloader. But I've always had reliable downloads and uploads via MediaF and CNU - much much more reliable than KF and RG, and without the 1 per 2 hour limit that make it so difficult to keep up with new releases. In this respect Filefactory is good too, because you can just setup the links in Jdownloader and come back later find they'll all done (I always greatly appreciate when the r2r drops include FF links). In terms of uploading experience, I just clear away uploads after awhile on Mega to stay under the 20gb limit. Though I guess that may not be viable for serious uploaders here...
