KatFile will be Discontinued... one day screenshot
we'll be discontinuing KatFile as our primary mirror soon, so please do not buy or prolong your premium.

UPD: so after reading all the comments and reviewing the rating, i've decided not to replace KF until there will be a really decent alternative, because the only one i had in mind is NitroFlare, which is not that much better than KF, but at least they are one of the strongest on the market.

Remember, to me the top criteria is reliability, which means that FS has to be around for at least several years and developed good reputation;
it also has to be widely used elsewhere, so you wouldn't have to buy premium just for AudioZ.

most of the alternatives that you mentioned are either new, have bad reputation, don't work somewhere or for someone.
Torrents are off the table. It was almost perfect file sharing protocol, but these days they are so massively blocked and even prosecuted in some countries, that i simply don't see any future for torrents on this layer of internet.
I had high hopes for iPFS since they started and i keep watching it, but even so far iPFS doesn't work as it supposed to.

therefore let's leave things as they are for now, but please don't pay for the annual premium expecting it to last in this unstable industry.

+1's for super fast hosts like pixeldrain or workupload

Would be a hugeeee help - I always have problems with both Rapidgator & Katfile And not to mention they're incredibly slow

I never had issues with Kat links and Real-Debrid, but I did with RG.
Also, when my R-D account expires I have a better experience with Kat in free mode than I do with RG.

Hopefully any new primary server will be R-D compatible.

I’m all for torrents Mega and anything compatible with Alldrebrid… Beggars can’t be choosers, but the way CGPeers and CGpersia are setup where one is for torrents and the other is the forum w/hoster links is a great idea in my opinion.

Posting torrents expose posters. It can be done but we can't put it the mandatory hosts.

Guys, we understand that as members you all have your own specific needs and preferences.

But we also have to take in account uploaders needs.

That's minimum requirements:

They need that the site's links last, and are not immediately taken down.
They need ftp service to upload.
They need a host where file management works well.

Just switch to Alfafile, RG's offshoot. Best file management ever and an easy & quick fixing of takedowns.

Kat file is the best for the people who don't pay "premium" downloads, only takes 30 seconds, and work OK with VPN. If you find a good alternative at the same level, cheers

Do you mind me asking why this decision was made? This site is the best in my opinion and has never given me any issues when downloading.

Whatever decision you make, I hope you consider adding one of these : Mega,1fichier,mediafire,... or torrent for some of huge files, libraries.if possible

For those who made this decision, could you also tell us what will be the replacement options that will be used? Much appreciated, as always
Peace

I apologize for not having voted, and the reason is that I am neither in favor nor against. However, I do believe it would be negative for many if Katfile is removed without providing a replacement for those who cannot afford to generate links for free. I also understand that uploaders need to earn some income; it's their job, and it's only fair. In fact, it's very little considering the significant effort they put in. So, I can't have a positive or negative view. Regarding torrents, if Oly says they didn't last even four days, it's probably not worth considering. I think this site is working wonderfully as it is. As you mentioned, perhaps Katfile could be replaced with another option that allows link generation and is convenient for uploaders

Nitroflare sucks, so I'd rather there still be an alternative to RG that actually works. Katfile was always my first choice.

Katfile is both the fastest and most reliable free host for me. RG is also fine, the others are just clickbait where you click the link, get shown a few ads and then get told you're not allowed the "premium download".

I'm okay with KF not being used, both KF and RG are fine with me. Both work good, imo.

If you go back in time, it used to be RG and uploaded, so if you switched to katfile from uploaded, and now want an old offering, you have to use slow download from uploaded, if the file ain't too large. So all change now, we'll have a load of history on uploaded, a load of history on katfile, and whatever new comes along.

I'd rather we stick to something, rather than keep changing.

quote by YodaDLAll these filehosters are so limited, slow speed but fast to take down links, and be forced to download / upload dozens of links for a library is a real pain.
The only one I like is 1fichier which allows 100 GB files at decent speed.

The best download / upload option I know and I use since 2005 is Usenet/newsgroups.
Full speed and private servers, 5600+ days of retention for best providers.
You need a subscription but you can find some great deals for about 20-30$ a year, unlimited traffic and VPN included.
A lot cheaper and far more efficient than most file hosters and other expensive seedboxes or VPN providers.
All of you who known "Captn Salvo" usenet posts in the past will surely agree, most of these are still available several years later.

Wow, that brings back memories! It was Captn Salvo and another iirc always had the latest from the teams of the day. It's where I got the legendary H20 Cubase 5 from :)

Katfile was fine in my opinion. you dont have to wait 180, 90, or 60 seconds to start downloading like Rapidgator. You can even share a download link with premium speeds for people without premium on Katfile.

Reading on all the comments, I saw that the most vocal kids are the ones with 0 contribution and does not even know how to upload. Crying about torrent which none of them will seed, crying about hosters which will delete our files in 2 days and beg us to upload again. FACINATING

What's wrong with not being a contributor? Sometimes one can't for 'x' reason. Now I'm wondering, as a follower of the site, can't one express an opinion? In other words, does the opinion not count if you're not an uploader? I don't fully understand.

Unfortunate, I just prolonged my linkysnappy account. On another note, Ive noticed that my downloads reach a limit constantly with KatFile, at first I thought it was because of my VPN but even without my VPN on, the limit is reached... even if its a new day.

I use KAT (via LS) as well and I cannot confirm your experience. I can even DL more then 100GB/day w/o any limitations.
  Resident 4.08.2017 4 324

Out of the two left, KAT was a better one cause, first, sometims it let me download at 9 megabytes per second (a free unregistered user), and second, it oesn't have daily download limits, or I never hit them. Unlike Rapidgator.
Whatever there is, RG alone isn't enough, we need at least a second one.
1fichier, gofile.io, something.

KatFile always worked well for me so I'm interested to see what the replacement will be. Something with a larger file size limit for free users would be useful - downloads are getting ever larger. As a free user my perfect world would be to have more than two mandatory mirrors so I can download more pieces of the puzzle at once but, as someone said above, beggers can't be choosers. I'm just glad that az is still here and still working.
