Run the NI_Kontakt_v570_Portable.exe. It will automatically extract.
Move the extracted folder to any location you like.
There is a folder named VST , add it as an additional VST Plugins folder in your DAW Software. Here is mine: E:\Kontakt 5.7 Portable\Kontakt 5\x64\VST

It works perfectly in particular for its Library manager.

After loading the Plugin Kontakt 5 Portable 64 out in FL Studio 11.. Ia'm getting this Error " The Procedure Entry Point ucrtbase.abort could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll "

i got the same error on my WIN7 machine when i opened the plugin window in ableton:

"Failed to load C:\Kontakt57Portable\Kontakt 5\x64\vcruntime.dll

LoadLibrary failed with error 127: The specified procedure could not be found."

and when i try to run the standalone, i got:

"the procedure entry point ucrtbase.abort could not be located in the dynamic link lubrary api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll"


but this portable works perfectly in win10 via parallels on my mac. i think maybe it has something to do with a c++ package or some other windows update not having been installed on my win7 machine(because i haven't run an update on my win7 machine in ages since i don't want shit to mysteriously stop working). going to troubleshoot this tomorrow with both windows side by side and hopefully find a fix. unless xiaoyan has a solution?

I've gone back and forth with different kontakt 5 installs over the past few months ...

I think you may be right about the C++ packages , the problem is that I dont know which ones are needed.

At one point it working as VST in my ableton ... then i reformatted my computer and reinstalled everything , including every C++ package I could DL off the net , as well as the "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll" and still couldn't get it to work again ...

this seems to be a common issue with most of the kontakt 5 installs i've tried ...

valoriousguy, first - thanks for the YouTube tutorial - it's not uncommon that many of us go to YouTube for many of these apps - I know I do, for overviews and specifics.
That you took the time to find and share it is to your credit.
Having said that, I'm also bound to say something else:
- first of all, the comments you see, user-to-user, aren't 'tutorials,' in any kind of sense - they are simply answers to specific questions - members attempting to be assisted by other users with similar problems or O.S.s.
- second, there simply isn't enough room to put forward a YouTube -type tutorial to answer the hundreds of little and big problems encountered by end-users - it's just a comment section, after all.
- third, calling these attempts by users who take the time to help fellow users should not be seen as 'crap' - but as honest attempts to help one another, and calling them 'crap' is just an insult.
and last, you have the right to say anything you want, in any way you want - but calling the comments 'crap' is a real slap in the face to people trying to help each other with specific problems.
If you had just said, " hey, guys, here's a good tutorial that covers some of the problems you're having," and just posted the link, you would have been contributing in a clean, clear, and non-insulting fashion.
I love that you posted the link, but wish that you hadn't belittled other members helping each other by calling their comments 'crap.'
It's just my 2 cents, my friend, and I'm (granted) old, and from a time when people were just over-all nicer to each other.
Finally, the comments back and forth that you call 'crap' are often very helpful to other users, with similar (often O.S. related) questions. They are the kinds of things that are too specific, and individual, for even a thorough, well done YouTube video to answer.
So the comments, in addition to any YouTube (or developer) videos are
[/b]complementary[b] to one another.
No disrespect intended, and thanks again for the link - but can we simply help one another without belittling others, and in that way be a community that helps, appreciates, and respects one another?

just move the whole folder anywhere, and add this folder in DAW preferences - vst plugins

Easy. I just ran the 'Install.exe' and it installs it nicely (FL Studio 12 / 64 and 32). Added a library and it works... so far. When I click the 'Manage Libraries', the new way to add libraries, the waiting time for the little window to appear seems to take a few seconds. On the little window click Add>Browse>select the folder and don't forget to click Save.
When I get this one, I'll be able to create something

Well it's a great release indeed, use it once, you will fall in love right away with it, better than previous release, instruction is in English.
