Native Instruments Kontakt 5.7.0 WIN Portable

I thought I'd post some info I discovered while playing around with the new Kontakt 5.7.0 portable. It's pretty amazing, for sure and the Library Manager is amazing. I'm also still using an older version of Kontakt, v5.5.2.2880.

I pretty much "Batch re-save" everything I have. It seems to make everything load and run faster.

I found out that if I do a "Batch re-save" in 5.7, the instrument will no longer run in 5.5. Therefore, I "Batch re-save" everything in 5.5 and all is well in both 5.5 and 5.7. So far, so good.

One thing I can not get to work in 5.7 is my Galaxy Steinway piano. Anyone have any suggestions?

It tried to add it as a self-made (unencoded) library but no luck.

Also, I had to reinstall the following to get them to work in 5.7:

Discover Cuba, Discover India, The Gentleman, The Maverick and The Hammersmith Grand.

Not sure why a reinstall was needed but all is well with those libraries now.

I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone has on getting Galaxy Steinway to work in 5.7.

p.s. One thing I have noticed is that 5.7 uses more resources than 5.5 does ... not sure why.

Kontakt 5.5: 165,896 K of memory and almost no CPU.
Kontakt 5.7: 179,860 K of memory and 7% CPU.

My cooling fan on my laptop runs a lot with 5.7 but hardly at all with 5.5.

With 5.70 portable I need to setup the midi controller each time I launch the kontakt! even the kontakt size..any soution?

Hello. So, while I'm able to add libraries using the Library Manager (, I keep getting the following error when I try to load them in Kontakt:
"Your new Library needs to be added before this Instrument can be used. Please go to Kontakt's Libraries tab and press the Add Library button."

Does anyone know why this might be happening? If there's any other info I need to provide, do let me know. Note: This is on a fresh install of Windows. I have not installed any other versions of Kontakt prior to this.

That's the same error I am getting. To get most of my libraries to work in 5.7, I have either reinstalled the library or used the "Add it as a self-made (unencoded) library".

All of my libraries have worked with either of the above except the Galaxy Steinway library.

Try either or both of the above and see if that helps.

In my opinion Batch Re Save sucks on this version.. Something is not perfect on this version... Libraries loads slower than previous version..

I've done all my "Batch re-save" in v5.5.2.2880 and everything seems to be as fast in the new 5.7. You might want to try that and see if that works for you.

I got Cinebrass PRO to work by reinstalling it and doing a Batch re-save in 5.5.2 and it worked in 5.7.

Any suggestions? It's the only instrument I have that I can't get to work in 5.7.

Is there any way to make it unportable? I managed to get 5.6.8 (kinda) working like the old 5.5.2 ones, so I'd love this to be the same for 5.7.X as well.

you can install this or you only can use portable?

Is there any way to replace the old kontakt dlls with this one so it wqill just substitute the kontakt in old projects? Tried renaming and replacing but that didnt seem to work.
