10.3.1, vr beta 7, one bit modification. If you click left or right of the actual sliders to adjust them (don't hold the mouse down on them) you can work with it. It's not a solution but it's usable, and otherwise it works.

I didn't test this release yet, but I've got PT9 legit and is the best DAW in the market, no doubt. If you want to be serious, buy original software. Anyway I' m not here to pray!!!
But I read that some guyz have issues. I'll suggest to make Avid's optimizations from here http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Troubleshooting/en349411 And also you should have some specific MOBO's and Processors, and HD and videos cards. It's not only to get a crack and say "OK, now I' m a Protool's user mates, kiss my ass!" :D

Hi guyz, One question :

for now the only trouble i've encountered is that expand 2 is the only plugin that still doesn't make any sound ?!? Obviously i've downloaded the install file form Avid's site.

Do you have the same trouble too ??
Any solution ???

If smitty's advice didn't help try this.

Click Start bar on windows, in the search programs dialog type in "regedit" and you will see the cube looking icon, click that. Now Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then click the "Software" folder. Now look for a DigiDesign folder, xpand that (no pun intended) and you will see folders for Boom, minigrand etc. Then you should see folders in that registry called "XPand2" and "Xpand!".

If you don't see "Xpand!" create it by right clicking on the Digidesign folder and then clicking "New Key" and type it AS IT IS with the "p" lowercase, the X uppercase without quotes "Xpand!".

If "Xpand!" is already there, go to the folder and you will see a string value of "(Default)" only available. Right click in that window and create a new string called "Content". Type it EXACTLY like it is shown without quotes. Then right click your newly made string "Content" click modify and put in the directory where the content is located, for example mine is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Avid\Avid Virtual Instruments\XPand2\" (without quotes).

Open Protools, create a new session, add a stero instrument track, insert Xpand2 and it should now work.

Guys, do you know why Altiverb 6 has a lot of problems with PT10?

Problems are:
-Some kind of input level mismatch (actually distorts with some IRs)
-"Time" dial only goes from the (previous) position of 100% to 150%, but will read 0% to 100%, and there's no way of knowing the real value.
-Automation Preset Index won't save no matter what. Kind of a big deal for those in post-production like me.

I use this plugin exclusively, by client's request, so I have no alternative...

BTW, some may not find it this way, but I think this "community" is great, lots of information shared.

2) returning from "function nagskrin" has had as result that we can keep working, which is better than nothing. I later looked at an earlier post, about their own version 8, and they seem to have done the same thing - but I agree it is all but elegant.

Please disregard the previous patch four posts up! It was incredibly premature (I found)...

Please try [removed - see other thread for new version] instead! Run it in the ProTools install directory. It is supposed to be put directly over the original TeamVR patched DLL. NOT the one with the "funny" texts (the one from Mukundas and Anonymous).

(Personally, I consider it a work in progress. I have done very little testing. I have had a small issue, but I could not repeat it - is it the patch or is it the program? Also there is the AAX thing that I have not gotten anywhere with.)

Take a look at your sound card preferences and such. Maybe reinstall your sound card drivers. I bet it has something to do with your hardware.

Im getting the same problem with recording audio. I hit record and it seems to be recording...draws the wave pattern but when I hit stop then the clip disappears as if I never recorded. If I toggle to Destructive mode it records but then I get an Access violation 0x37C27000, and I have to reboot PT. However, if I highlight a start/end - punch in/out section, it will record just fine WITHIN the area shaded by punch points. At first I thought it was bcuz of installing the patch over v. 10.3.2 but it actually worked like a charm with the v3 patch...other than the recording not working. Still, I did a reinstall of 10.30 per instructions but get the same thing.
Thing is, it records fine on my old Lenovo laptop with Asio4All (Win7/32bit). Im having the problem with my M-Audio Profire 2626 on Win 7/64bit, which didnt have a recording problem with the VR patch versions "7-10".
I have a legit PT10 so I even entertained what would happen with VR/JustTrying PT10HD with the Ilok ported. (?)

*UPDATE: On my Win7/64 setup it seems this recording error happens when recording to Broadcast Wav format (BWF), but records fine if I record to AIFF. Hmmm??

Hope my experience helps with any further work.
