try installing ProTools from the Protools Installer folder and run the setup.exe in Win7 compatibility mode. That should clear up your Windows 8 problems.

I find it highly suspicious that team VR cracks the Dongle from Avid Symphony and Media Composer which are way more expensive than Protools within seconds after any version comes within a few hours the VR patch is around . Latest is Media Composer 6.5 and Avid Symphony 6.5 cracked PERFECLY no crashes or beta crap just a simple 200 k patch Within hours of release.

Very suspicious that they seem to be "working on Protools" .

As you all have to come to realize that Protools without the thousands of hardware dollars you need in a studio is just like all the rest of Daw's albeit with some different features.

I always said Hype sells only up to a certain point as the competition eventually outclasses the hype and then the Hype get's left behind. Case and point look at Apple a computer company that is phasing away from computers!!! As I predicted when Apple switched yet another switch to Intel, as many people like asked if OS X ( being FreeBSD based) is running on Intel that means that apple is now overcharging a regular PC by putting their logo on there, and that is why many VFX production studios, editing studios have dumped the Mac's as Apple has pretty much told the Pro's with the release of Final Cut X ( no pro studio features) that Apple does not give a crap about the pro's anymore as the money is in suckers paying $600 for a cell phone and a $800 tablet that for god's sakes you can almost buy 2 decent laptops for 700 bucks now!!.

Apple is going to dump the Mac Pros and for a long ass time companies like Digidesign always embraced the mac simply as an anti-piracy measure for Protools. Look at the landscape of Video and Audio now it has switched back to Windows and PC, as many studios can not wait for yet another switch from Apple . There are many Pro studio Apps for colour grading, vfx, graphics, cad that are not and will not be available for OS X!!.


THank god Apple's monopoly in the media producing content is over!!

@coolios: I agree to you ,but now there are 2 monopolist, if we can say so. Microsoft and Apl. So they will share the market. But the main customer for Apl are the ones, who must own an Apl product as an prestigeobject. Or do you think you need an 500,-€ Handy (Cellularphone in German) to phone someone or surf the internet? S3 with LTE will be tha half the price of IPH5 in 2-4 Month.

i think if some one is serious about Music production you should Buy your DAW so you know that is will be stable and reliable even if cubase 6.5 for Mac was on here tomorrow and it said it was (K'ed ) i would not you's it there is to much at stake for me to lose song data i would not even worry about this'' phones

The Hardwre the apple is much more than an ordinary PC ... I say this because I worked with got a PC and MAC PRO 8 CORE with 64 gigabytes of memory. Do not lock and is simply perfect, I have to stay formatting every 3 months and use internet normally.

I responded to this last page. It is the same as before with Strip Silence. It works but it throws a ton of access violation errors when you move the Strip Silence sliders. Otherwise, it seems pretty stable. Still wouldn't try to do a serious project at this point though.

Strip silence Works

To check load blank session and add one track with no media inserted

press Control + U to bring up strip silence move sliders NO access violation errors

Check you File Permissions on all tracks you add to your session
needs to be able to change and write to files

Strip Silence is working straight off the top loaded a pro tools 8 project. Win764bit. I'm not a fan of Anonymous's 'personalizations' but maybe a team can clean it up for a proper release because it is working well.
