You have to paste them inside the "Ambient Match" folder. Worked for me.

Presets are not missing, but in a wrong folder. Look below for the solution.

quote by shon3iI only wait to test Wow & Flutter module, that make easy process than Celemony Capstan which is buggy in mine opinion. So that can be bigger step for us who doing some transfers from analog mediums. Spectral Recovery is probably not good as Acon Vitalizer and Stereo Tool, but is ok to have another tool that do same job, I always have some samples thah work with one but not good with another tool

Celemony Capstan works best with faster drift tracking and 'pitch follows drift' option. If you force setting pitch to some average value or change file duration - aux. functions not directly connected with flutter and wow correcting - you might get some glitching problems. I recommend using other software for such purposes. But it is superior by far to Wow & Flutter module of RX 8.
Spectral Recovery is clumsy, slow and rather raw. It is the worst designed module of RX I have ever met.

Has anyone tested if this works on Windows 7?

Was hoping it is "working but not supported," but if it uses the WinRT C++ library then Win7 users are shit out of luck!

I can't see music re balance either???

Also RX seems to have changed the format

On RX7 you could open up the entire program in one gui and make your choices from there......which I think was way more convenient

It should run as a standalone, and that's the only way Music Rebalance will show up.

You are right about Spectral Recovery, I just tried it, and it's damn slow, but also not does job as should. What you recommend for wow & flutter beside Capstan and RX8 ? I never seen that correction in another software and/or software specialized for wow & flutter. I just tested RX8 module and i am fine how it works

As far as I know there is no other software besides Capstan and RX 8 that corrects flutter and wow.
But it is very easy to compare those two programs. Just render files:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Celemony\Capstan\Examples\example 1 wow.wav /for wow/
and
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Celemony\Capstan\Examples\example 2 flutter.wav /for flutter/
in both programs. /Take my advices about settings of Capstan, but make drift tracking close to slow (or completely slow)/
You'll see great difference in quality in favour of Capstan, making usage of RX 8 out of the question.

yes, but in all fairness Capstan is a $4K piece of software - very specialized. not a fair comparison. RX is more of a "Jack of all trades" next to it :)
  Member 21.12.2018 518

You are quite right concerning the issue of fair comparison.
The advantage of RX 8 is that the wow and flutter modes are separate. In some cases I found that you can get better control in that way. By the way, I think RX 8 is better at wow correcting than in correcting flutter.
So one can use RX 8 as a supplemental program, when you are not completely satisfied with Capstan results. In two early instances this method improved my results.
Of course, you can use it independently, but it took 15 minutes to render flutter correction on a 2 min. file with "Subtle Flutter Removal" preset and Capstan took less than a minute. And there is no preview, so you can not tweak parameters on-the-fly.
In any case, it is surely the most important news in RX 8 (and it works pretty good).

Fixing the registry entry for presets worked, thanks a lot

I find music rebalance way better than the one in rx 7. But Spleeter,a free utility by the people at deezer, gives similar results to rx8 if not better.

A must have if you have instruments and recording equipment, I gotta buy this super utility.

Music rebalance has really took quite a leap beyond its accuracy.
This is an incredible tool for anyone working with sample based music.
Thank you R2R. As usual, you did an awesome job.

For me, it worked by removing the presets from the folder in which they were put by installer to:

C:\Users\*user name*\Documents\iZotope\RX 8 Audio Editor\Presets\Ambient Match\

As mentioned here already earlier (by Implode), edit the registry entry

Key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\iZotope\RX8
Value:
PresetFolder
data:
C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\iZotope\RX 8 Audio Editor\Presets\Ambient Match
to
C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\iZotope\RX 8 Audio Editor\Presets

and move all folders and files from

C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\iZotope\RX 8 Audio Editor\Presets\Ambient Match
to
C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\iZotope\RX 8 Audio Editor\Presets

Adapt the documents path to your settings, if needed.

Meaning: do two procedures instead of one, and tinker with registry...

Not that hard to do and a more "correct" fix, IMHO. ;)

Thank you Pagurida but I think the problem still standing as it is not possible to rename or delete presets through the dialog box of any module!!

You're right. It will find the presets, but the menu functions for update, renaming and removing are always grayed out in the standalone version. Looks like it needs a repack.
