Adding Color and Warmth To Your Recordings with SLVR Exciter
When you want to come up with a lively mix it's easy to think, I'll just EQ this and that frequency, add reverb to this, raise the 5kHz on that, and expect to get an inspiring mix. But in practice it's a lot more complicated than that.

If you're EQ looks like the Himalayan Mountains then you might be trying too hard to achieve your desired character with it. Maybe you can try a different approach: use EQ to bake a balanced sound, then season to taste with an exciter.

SLVR Exciter is a very versatile exciter that can be used at any stage of the mix including mastering. I use it on individual recordings to bring out their character. The focus switches are extremely useful for blending different instruments together. The color fader lets you dial-in just the right amount of saturation to the sound.

There is also a mix fader (wet/dry) that makes it easy to play with extreme settings. You can activate multiple hot-spots, push the lo/hi faders to the maximum, and then just compensate with the mix fader. I know subtlety is key to a balanced mix, but you won't easily go wrong with this plugin.
