I tested extensively this release, and I can tell with 100% certitude:
It is real, and it works.

It's a pure gift, signed by people we all think disappeared in the shades, but apparently it was not!!!

In the offcial site, they have an application that generates an (empty) *.sel file...

It is on the "Support" page, click on it and search there.

Of course, but as a simple precaution: remove your dongle before running AiR Kgen, we never know.

But considering that this kg doesn't need internet at all, you can do that offline.

As a second rule: Never ever try to transfer your soft licenses on your dongle, there is actually a great risk that your dongle with your legit license being blocked (blacklisted) I know two legit dongle users who had precisely that, so let's be cautious with STbrg, they have now the way to detect VR for sure.

There is a thing to always have in mind with dongles: everything, absolutely everything that you put in them are traced (in other words: everything leaves traces) mainly by the servers, but I suspect that the dongle itself should have a sort of "log memory" of any operations that you do with it.

So as a general rule: when everything works and you have your licenses and installs 100% OK, don't try to move or change anything, unless you're a fine connoisseur and a great guru who knows and handle everything!

As I said earlier, you should block the eLicenser with a Firewall, except of course if you have a new official license to enter, or a maintenance / update to perform in eLic.

EDIT: I modified this part, because I take into account how the things evolve, now I can say with 100% certainty that once you have completely finished to download and install everything, it is far better to prevent the eLicenser Control from accessing internet by using a firewall.

There is another needed program, normally installed by the Download Assistant: eLicenser Control Center, which serves to register and control your licenses. You can do nothing without it.

And before your point 5, before running the kgen, you must first have a file in C:\ProgramData\Syncrosoft named seLicenser This file is what is called a "soft licenser" (by opposition to hard / usb licenser which needs a dongle and use a very different mechanism).

This file, seLicenser.sel, can be created / copied in many ways and from different sources (VR release could be one) , but if you really start from zero, you can use this offline method to keep your licenses 100% safe and to start clean with only one license in your licenser: the one that is generated by the AiR Kgen.

To create you own empty seLicenser completely offline, please follow this simple guide.

(Now, if ever you also want to install the VR release (which needs internet to function), you could install it now, download and install any or all the programs and libraries covered by the VR licenses + the AiR license, then block the elicenser Control with the hosts or with your Firewall and use the AIR kgen in second.

This is the very best method to not mess your eLicenser in mixing both licenses from different origins: always use the AiR kgen at the last moment, after you have completely finished to download, install and register everything you want.)

As said, once you have finished, don't forget to prevent eLicenser Control to connect to internet with the Windows Firewall, or with any Firewall of your choice.


Optional notes:

If, one day, you'll want to enter a new (demo, legit or not) serial in your elicenser (or a new VR Stbrg-related release) or have to perform a maintenance / database update, you'll have to unblock it. For that, use your firewall to let momentarily the eLicenser Control fully connect to internet.


EDIT: I modified the last part to take everything into account, it appears that now as we speak, the 'hosts' trick is not sufficient, you must use the windows defender firewall (or any other firewall) to prevent eL. Ctrl to access internet. But do that only after you have completely finished to DL / install everything you want.

In any case if you wanna start fresh and create a new, empty sel file, please read this!
