That's what R2R is doing. I think the MAAT guy abandoned his harsh protection after the R2R crack. They keep cracking this ilok stuff, eventually the protection will be deemed a wasteful cost. Not only from the licensing fees they have to pay, but also from all the users who refuse to buy ilok.

Unfortunately, the Pace and MetaFortress protection seem to slow down crackers enough that they will just keep making it worse for legit users in response to every crack instead of abandoning it. A release every 4 years likely won't motivate them to drop it. But I seriously appreciate what R2R are doing - it takes brilliant minds and isn't easy. It's a cat and mouse game and will likely remain so.

My favorite R2R moment is when they released the Arousor update the day after it dropped, after the dev delayed only the Windows version by months to strengthen protection. Serious flex.

I bet R2R will leave the MixFX version for last!

If you can't hear what this is doing then:

A. You need better gain-staging
B. You need better monitoring/ears

TAPE is 'meant' to be 'subtle'.. it's not an FX box... it works great and glues and places the mix in a smooth soundstage and removes some spiky transients while giving a warm low end bump. You are probably mixing into it wrong, or haven't tweaked it right.. or A/B above. It's CLEARLY making a good difference on my mixes (in place of other tapes like I.K Tapes). Love how low CPU it is too vs IK
