Softube Modular v2.5.9 READ NFO-R2R screenshot
Team R2R | 02 Jan 2021 | 160.5MB
Modular synthesizers are a way of life. The sense of endless possibility, of open-ended adventure, is captivating. Addictive even. And nothing else can produce the sonic extremes of which a modular system is capable. Patch four or five modules together in a new way and you just might hear something no human ear has ever heard before.

Created in close collaboration with Doepfer, the creators and original stewards of the Eurorack modular synth standard, Softube Modular gives you the sound, the freedom, and the expandability of a hardware modular synthesizer, without the constraints. Seven essential component-modeled Doepfer modules are included, plus 50 stock modules, from utilities like mixers and multipliers to sequencers and performance panels. And premium modules from other renowned hardware brands are available to expand your collection.

So dive in, and explore a new sonic frontier where anything is possible, and you never run out of patch cables.

Modular is a modular synthesizer plug-in, developed in partnership with Doepfer
Comes with component-modeled versions of seven analog hardware modules from Doepfer
More than 400 quality presets included covering a huge range of styles and sounds

(Most of) single Modular modules are protected one by one. More and more
legit modules you have, more and more load time and cpu / memory wastes you
will have. Any single module releases by R2R are unpacked from WrapWarden
and does not access to iLok License Manager service at all. Now is the tiem
for legit users to complain of the massive perfomance loss to developers :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

* No iLok Driver is required to run.
* Our release loads faster and uses less memory than original.

Tell the world my story.

Rest easy, I don't think that'll be necessary. They already know.

Makes sense now...

It would be interesting, if a legit user could load a ultra complex patch, then, play 1 note..or a 8-notes chord, check the cpu/memory usage...
...then do the same thing with the R2R version.

It could/would be insane, if the legit version used like 10% more cpu..or even more.

Wise move to take here.
I'm not all set up, but I installed R2R's on vst2 and kept the legit vst3.

R2R's loads paid modules seamlessly.

Windows 7 - Live 10.1 : R2R vst2 loads (pretty much) two times faster than legit vst3.
Maybe there's some vst3 Live compatibility taking part of the equation, but I don't remember a difference in loading time when working with vst3 version atm.

edit : Ok, tested k'ed vs legit vst2.
Opens up to 6x times faster. Insane.
From roughly 13 seconds to 2 seconds. (SSD+i7@4Ghz + 32GB RAM)

No they won't

I think they're going crazy with releases this new year because 2020 was so terrible, especially to musicians. So this might be their way of cheering up the community. I don't know, but I wouldn't interpret this as a goodbye unless they say so.

There have been many times over the years that people were panicking that R2R is going away. It will happen someday, and that will be a very sad day, but I don't think we're there yet.

This will be interesting. The legit version is an absolute horrible CPU Killer. (on a modern TOP CPU). But no matter how CPU efficient, the workflow of this plugin is even more horrible, in particular when it comes to polyphonic patches.

Any difference with VCV because back when I dabbled with that one a few years ago it wasn't easy to patch polyphonic as well.

happy for those that been asking for this for few days already. Have fun guys!
It makes no sense to say you’re not good at it. It’s like saying, “I’m not good at being a monk.” You are either living as a monk or you’re not.

On my 8 year old PC test rig. Windows 10. Quadcore. It runs fine. Not as hungry as U-He Diva. On my studio rig which is 8 core it barely registers.

It is hungry for CPU but the sound is worth it. Especially audio rate modulation. The filter of Doepfer is amazing too. Ah yea and it depends on how many modules are in and how complex they are connected.

Anyone who knows a developer that offers better support than R2R, tell me

Nice for those who like to fiddle, personally I don't, I prefer the shorter way to the goal. Secondly you'll probably have to live with this version for a very long time, gets old really fast.
