Waves dropped support WPAPI v1.x. Third party WPAPI plugins like Flux,
PluginAlliance, SmartEQ Live, Sonnox does not work. When they are updated we

means Waves is not for them. Waves is optimized to work with many Waves Plug
Instance. If you are considering running just few instance, try to get rid of
Waves and find alternative plugins. You can check yourself how many DLLs are
loaded and how many files are read and written to load just one C1 plugin.
Therefore we provide full installation only with good compression and faster
installation.

I'm sorry but your statement seems somewhat presumptuous, as well as the fact that Waves is an ecosystem, if only you had studied their world and bought some plugins. Their products are truly crucial in a professional mix. If you are fine without Waves why do you come here to write under the post of the Waves's release. The obvious reason of my commenting on Waves is the absurd rationale of enemity to "I just need one or two plugs blah blah" attitude.

- And you know what you need only if you grab everything offered (bundled).

No matter if we use 1 or 100 plugins, the truth is, I remember installing older versions, and shit, there were stuff in vst3 folder... in program files 32bits folder... in .../vstplugins 64bit folder... and each folder had dozens of thousand of files, icon files, subfolders... and more subfolders...

waves are not crucial. Never have been never will be. Fab Filter, Softube and most of the UAD stuff - the quality is higher compared to the Waves version - the soundstage is larger. I like Waves API stuff, many of the dynamics are very good too. but there are many I would not waste my time with. I ALWAYS cherry pick. That is how waves sell their products. But plenty of GREAT mies have been done with a Minimum of plugs - some with free plugs, some with DAW plugs, some with none. It's ALL about Source and skill.

I wouldn't go quite *that far, FinalMaster, but I agree it is a definite downside, at very least. And, I agree--some of us can live without Waves, me being one of them, but I haven't used them in *years, so I have to see what they have going on now.

I'm not comin' at you, but this is inherently false. If you can't find plugins that replace Waves--no matter how far they've come, as per quality and/or features--you need to do some more scouting around. The main thing I always hear people talk about is how their analogue emulations are unmatched; this might have been true 5-10 yrs ago, but to say that nowadays is just riding for a brand.

It has never been said that Waves has no substitutes, but that to obtain a certain type of high sound ALSO Waves products are fundamental and in many crucial situations. Super engineers use them for their versatility and objectively they are very good. You probably believe you have a lot of knowledge, but your statements show a lack of experience in both production and mixing. Be more humble and you will discover many interesting things.

Hi my friend FinalMaster, to be fair to second guess what members need is like being a Seer NostraAudioZdamus, For example on the past three releases of other teams API did not work. You know API is what Prince and Valen Halen used at Sunset Sound Studios. So how would R2R know this and the Abbey Road, Schepp, CLA, Panquin and Puigchild are all I need, . You can go into the common files and remove individual VSTs, a little work but after all we got to test and buy.

If you use the Waves Central variety of installer, you can chose what to install.

If you don't want it, don't take it. If you do, help yourself. Anything else is willy waving.
