Pianoteq STAGE v6.2.2 Standalone VST VST3 AAX WiN screenshot
iND | Sept 16 2018 | 66.3 MB
Pianoteq Stage 6 is a popular choice for the budget-minded musician. It is based on the award winning physical model, offered in Pianoteq 6 Standard and PRO, praised by many musicians for its close intimacy and responsiveness.

Pianoteq Stage 6 includes the same instruments, sounds and playability. All this for an unbeatable price.

The simpler interface in Pianoteq Stage 6 is adapted for musicians who want the convenience of a selection of beautiful instruments for an immediate playing session. It is not for tweaking settings and parameters.

Pianoteq Stage 6 brings the advantages of the Pianoteq physical model, such as:

superior playability and expressiveness
excellent performance on modern laptops
small system footprint, less than 50 MB in size
installs and loads in seconds

It's "stage", not "pro" version.

Right? I can't believe Horsemen had THE NERVE to share this free instrument to us ELITE of the music industry. If it ain't got Pro in the name, don't waste our valuable time and bandwitch. Now let me get back to my jacuzzi while naked Claudia Schiffer plays the Fazioli in my living room.

This "crowd" no longer surprises me, vladdrac. The sad truth, is getting something for nothing is no longer good enough for some. I think a lot of people need to sit back and imagine the position they would be in, or more specifically, where their music would be at, if not for AudioZ.
That being said, I'm unsure if LALALA was just pointing out the version that was uploaded or if he was complaining, so you may have jumped the gun.
Thanks for the chance to try this out, Horsemen.

@vladdrac - I'm not taking sides on this one--largely because I just don't care--but, "STAGE" was in all caps in the heading of the post, not just in LALALA's coment....just sayin'. Also, I haven't had the opportunity to install it yet, but I didn't see anything in the post about it containing additional sounds. This up contains all of the Pianoteq expansions? (....or whatever they're calling them.)

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. It's in big letters in the title of the release, so he wasn't just "pointing out the version that was uploaded", that would be redundant, he was straight out belittling the release. It's just his usual cocky and entitled attitude that is unfair to iND and Horsemen's effort. I have zero tolerance with this bs. Take sides or don't, who cares... just don't bite the hand that feeds you, like angry kid here.

All three versions, stage/standard/studio, have the same instrument packs. The only difference is how deep you can go under the hood and edit them.

Thanks; good to know. If I want to dive too far into a piano, I'll just go crazy with Kontakt. As it is, honestly, I'm more than happy with the amount of control that it gives you. Besides, I usually just end up using plugins on the channel as opposed to stock effects from a VST (not that these are bad.)
I just popped it up and haven't tested the VST yet, but Standalone is golden. It's mindboggling how good it sounds for how small it is. Also, something that I like about the Addictive Keys Standalone is the ability to record ideas (or pieces, I guess,) on a scratch pad, so the automatic (you can toggle it on and off,) MIDI record feature on this is awesome.

Yeah, I was quite impressed myself. I found the Steinway top octave a bit synthetic and harsh sounding (gotta mess with the settings) but the Grotrian is amazing out of the box, especially if you consider the small memory footprint. I'm still going to use Keyscape and Synchron Piano (both legit) because I'm so used to them and love their tone, but Pianoteq is definitely a keeper.

"The only difference..."
You do realize that control is the only reason to use physical modeling? Otherwise it's just a lifeless and characterless library. Just compare this thing and libraries from Imperfect Samples.
This is why it's only 99 usd. And this is why it isn't that "big". Also, this is why people are still spending a lot of money on sample libraries.
I hope you'll treat your lunatism poor dude.

"lifeless and characterless library" Now you are just embarrassing yourself. I bet everything you do sound just like that - lifeless and characterless - and you blame your libraries (that you didn't pay in the first place).

It costs 99 bucks because not everyone needs to tweak every single detail of the piano, different strokes for different folks, and it DOES sound great. If you can't get a decent sound from Stage, that's on you and you alone.

This is hilarious! I knew you were a negative nancy, but this is just another level of saltiness. No wonder you are always angry and gloomy.

I'm can't jump on board with the "Otherwise it's just a lifeless and characterless library," LALALA. The fact is, I have heard purists argue that 5,000 GB Kontakt piano libraries are garbage because the mic's are in the wrong place and that without proper mic placement it's "....just noise." I think that a lot of people are going for uber-realism, and don't realize that the majority of music that you hear is not recorded on a priceless Steinway in some exclusive studio but, instead, it's created with VSTis or libraries that aren't always even necessarily "high-end." i.e.: I 've heard people bitch about what a hunk of crap Lounge Lizards EPs are, especially the Rhodes. I have, and love, my Gospel Musicians Rhodes' and I use them often, but sometimes the Lounge Lizard EPs actually fit with the rest of the instruments better. Does it sound like I'm front row at a Blues Jam? No. But it fits what I'm making.
That being said, I do agree that the library needs some tweaking....some, but, besides the fact damn-near *everything does to some degree, I find that if I am spending too much time trying to mold a certain instrument into how I want it to sound, I am probably wasting time that I should be spending looking for the instrument that I actually need. That's just been my experience.
I'm cool with the controls in the Stage version of this; if I need something deeper, I'll jump into Kontakt.
(Sidenote: Lunatism--which, as we all know, is not a word-- is not always something one should attempt to rid themselves of. Imagine what we would have lost if Frank Zappa, Hunter S. Thompson or Quentin Tarantino had pursued normal, non-lunatismic (also, not a word,) lives instead of their respective Paths of Madness. Just food for thought.... )

Why do you mention this?
Description is “Pianoteq STAGE”, isn’t that obvious enough for you?
Or what’s actually your problem???
