Many thanks to both Horsemen and his generously gifted iND associate for this high quality release! IMO if you're looking for a usable piano that loads real quick and doesn't munch an entire SSD, this really is the mutts nuts... an excellent addition for anyone looking to work with a (relatively) low-resource piano insde a DAW

Companies are well aware that there will always be some folk who'll willingly pay a substantial premium for the 'premium' edition - on the erroneous rationale that status & kudos can simply be bought... Pianoteq is a textbook example in fact: Modart know that in 2018, consumers certainly expect a return for their $99. And for 99% of purchasers, 99% of the time, the basic (stage) version delivers the essential goodies in spades... but if they can actually garner 25% of overall sales from wealthy and/or gullible punters willing to pay a through-the-nose $400 for a slew of additional micro features (that almost certainly will not further creative ambition), then so much the better... seriously, imo the 'pro' version should be $150 & all of their additional piano patches should come pre-loaded, as in this fine release... anyways, this crack is essentially perfect if your priority is writing or performing music with piano - not merely misfocusing on ulra-soundesign or fetishistic, delusional consumer vanity.

I'm just hoping it doesn't timebomb... 'cos that WOULD hurt, now it's finally here!

Well, I just gave it a try and this is simply AMAZING, I will have to delete some of my sample libs.

Not sure that the Pro version is needed unless you are a professional pianist and in this case, you might as well go legit and simply buy it.

Physical modeling is truly the future of virtual music instruments and might replace sampling of regular instruments sooner than we think. I can't wait for the equivalent of Spitfire Orchestral libs for less than 1 GB...

Oh and BTW, this Pianoteq sounds much more realistic than Arturia's piano.

It's not completely wrong..

-First I have to say I excited and thankful for this post like no other.. absolutely fantastic. This is the way as should be these days.
-Second if you have the chance of testing those libraries that mentioned by LALA, imperfect samples Fazioli and Wallnut you understand what he means. Personally couldn't test them completely until I bought SSD and extra RAM. So Pianoteq is better and only solution for those have weaker systems.

Cool piano instrument. Will check it out. I am always looking for stuff that loads and runs well on my (incredibly underpowered) laptop. Not every library needs to be 478GB, multiarticulated, round-robin, etc. Sometimes a simple piano sound is all you need.

Well... a bit off topic but... Don't collect soft guys. Try to get only handful of VSTs and make music with them. 10 years ago, after 5 years in the world of VST technology i've learned that limits are the only key to produce more and not to become a plugins collector. Do you have Pianoteq or other piano plugin? Great. I bet it could serve you for entire life for piano parts in rock/pop/metal/jazz/dance productions (...ofcourse if only your PC/Mac will live so long haha) : ) The same goes to Organ, Orchestra, Guitar, Bass, Synth categories...

In my VstPlugins folder I have 8 subfolders: Bass, Drums, Guitar, Orchestra, Organ, Piano, Sampler, Synth. In each category I have only 1-2 plugins. The only exception is Synth subfolder (4-6 plugins). 10 years ago I would add to it some WAVES plugins (you know... compressor, gate, etc.) but today every DAW has so many audio plugins that it's unnecessary.

Here is my list of VSTs:

Bass = Trilian
Drums = Superior Drummer + The Metal Foundry SDX
Guitar = MusicLab's RealGuitar / RealStrat
Orchestra = Edirol Orchestral
Organ = NI B4 II / Toontrack's EZkeys Pipe Organ
Piano = Pianoteq / Addictive Keys
Sampler = Kontakt 5 + custom made VSL orchestra from old GIGA samples (ca. 10GB)
Synth = Omnisphere, SampleTank 3, FM8, Massive, Korg M1 (KLC)

This is arsenal of sounds from most categories that is far more than enough to make music in any genre...

Last but not least. People listen music, not single notes/samples of given instrument. So don't be scarry. Even worst VST made past millenium year will sound outstanding in the right hands...

Thank you very much Horseman. For years I am waiting this, from v.2.23. It is a great crack and amazing sounds of instruments. I want to ask guys, from this forum theme, does anybody have some more libraries and want to share with us? Thank you in advance I really appreciate very much all this.

The soft and sostenuto pedals are not working correctly, or like this: they are responding and the interface is showing they are but the sound is not changing - sustain pedal is working well. Anyone knows why and how to fix this? Is it crack related or is it a limitation of stage version (it doesn't say in the specs)?

Any chance for v.6.5? Maybe I request too much, but It will be highly appreciate. Thanks in advance.

January 2020. this is still the king in realism, size and playability. no kontakt libs touches this.
