System Preferences > Accessibility pane > tick "Enable access for assistive devices
• Unpack PT10[K]
Put PT10Loader and PT 10.3.9 Patch on your desktop.
• Patch ProTools.app
Open PT 10.3.9 Patch and drag Pro Tools.app on its window
• Start ProTools launching PT10Loader.app
Just double-click on it.

I wouldn't trust this alpha test of Pro Tools with serious production wok. A new issue I've found is that PT randomly shuts down in the middle of Bit slicer doing its job. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Until a properly cracked version sees the light, we'll continue to live with these issues.

On an early-morning attempt, this new Bit Slicer hasn't worked for me. I may be on some dumb doing. I'll inform as I further my tries.

The new Bit Slicer link is lacking the ".zip" extension at the end, just in case. Add it or it will report 404.

The video doesn't really explain anything. It only demonstrates that it works. Actually it kind of does. Pro Tools starts up well (I never see the Bit Slicer window and its funny automated mouse capture, which makes me figure there's a mistake on my part). When I open projects, errors appear. I re-installed PT once.

BTW, here's how I installed the Bit Slicer thing (I could be all wrong):
1. I started Bit Slicer.
2. I used File/Open to open the script.
3. I closed the program.

I don't know. Maybe I need to keep it open while I start up PT. Who knows. Meanwhile to read the rutracker forum.

I'm just right there with you. And I guess I messed up the original Bit Slicer. I'll infuse some new blood to my system via a new and clean install and go back to the loader. I don't mind it at all.

Just remember that we've become alpha testers. Don't expect much by now. I hope our sorrow stories help find the right path. Kudos to everyone's commitment to circumvent iLok 2. This alone makes it worth it.

Have you repaired permissions of *the patch file* not you system drive with a utility like BatChmod or Permissions Reset? The latter worked for me before I blew it with the second Bit Slicer.

Permissions Reset es un app absolutamente simple de usar. Sólo tiene una ventana. Arrastras el programa que no abre dentro de esa ventana y oprimes "reset". Es así de simple. Mi instalación funcionaba ok con el loader, pero al inicio no abría nada. Yo usé Permissions Reset en el Loader y el Patch (ambos puestos en el escritorio) y en el app mismo de Pro Tools (.../Applications/Avid/Pro Tools/). Los reparas ANTES de usarlos. Ni bien los pegas en el escritorio.

This thread reminds me of the issues us Windows users were having when we got the infamous Pro Tools 10 with the VR beta patch. That thread encountered over 73000 views and over 1100 posts! In the end we got the the "justtrying" patch and it worked great. I wish you all the luck MAC users. In the end, I finally gave up on Pro Tools, which I really like. It's just that it was driving me nuts. So many other programs can do so much more, faster and with less errors. Perhaps PT 11 is better but I don't see that showing up here.

You might as well remember the heated fights, rants and insults flying around. I'm really satisfied that we are handling ourselves in a much more civilized form now.
In the end, I finally gave up on Pro Tools, which I really like. It's just that it was driving me nuts.

Been there. Actually, I've moved on to Logic and there's no turning back. I'd like to have this version as best fixed as possible so I can erase the 10.6.8 partition where I hold my XVX PT9. I might come back to dust some old projects when time allows.

Thanks a lot. I'm sure some smarter guy/gal will figure it out, becoming the hero of the day, just like Justtrying. In the meantime, it's good to be able to get out feet wet in this alpha release. Pro Tools is losing ground in being an industry standard, but still it is a responsible move on any producer to know about it. Let's not lose faith.

This is an incredible feat! I have a lot of respect for the uploader. ILok2 is extremely tough to crack. I was able to get PT10HD working with the crack for about an Hr but then I started encountering authorization errors which would crash pro tools. I currently have a real authorization for Pro Tools 10 , but I wanted to test out pro tools 10 HD to see its benefits. There are a couple that I noticed right off the bat. 1st is higher track counts, 2nd is the ability to store your whole session into RAM for snappier playback. Pro tools 10 (not HD) already has delay compensation and low latency monitoring (with the right DAW) Its getting close! At the very least, maybe someone with a bit more knowledge of ILok2 security can take the crack all the way.

I keep seeing references to iLok 2. I'm sure PT 10 only requires the original iLok (iLok 1). I would be grateful (and happy) for someone to prove me wrong as this would be the breakthrough of the year even coming close to cr@cking iLok 2.
