Bitwig has better workflow, routing, modulation and sound design possibilities than Ableton.

Ableton has better factory effects but inside Bitwig, users can create their own high quality effects very easily, which is more flexible than Ableton. For example, you can put any plugin (Decapitator) between bitwig's Delay's feedback chain.

Bitwig is not a replacement for Ableton users. But for new users, it is better option than ableton.

I've been hearing this rhyme for a long time. Until one day I tried to compare the two beasts. First of all this nursery rhyme has appeared since the first versions of bitwig. But it's clear that this is subliminal propaganda, so it has never been honest IMO. Objectively speaking it must be said that Bitwig has native plugins that have something more than the same analogues of Ableton. And vice versa, even if the balance, in this case, leans in Bitwig's favor. The Bounce in Place in Ableton is called Freeze and flatten, if seen from another perspective,it could be more functional than the bounce in place. Ableton has warping algorithms that bitwig does not have. Ableton has a solidity that bitwig cannot have. But the real big gap between the two is Max's implementation within Ableton. This not only bridges those small differences in native plugins that Ableton lacks compared to Bitwig, but takes Ableton to a much higher level, because it's as if its architecture could open to infinity, where the limit of possibilities is only given by the limit of your imagination. Starting with the traditional Bounce in Place, easily created by Max4L, continuing for complex chains of everything that can jump into your mind, including effects, synths, samplers, audio clips, videos and lights, more elaborate side-chains impossible to achieve otherwise. It must be said that Bitwig should recognize Ableton a lot, because it's from Ableton that his project started, and if Ableton had not been there, Bitwig probably would never have been invented. Having as a starting point a great reference, Bitwig has clearly been able to improve some aspects on which, Ableton, has certainly become chronic over the years, especially in the GUI, while Bitwig also providing some more gems. The Grid and modulation capability of Bitwig are an excellent example. But at the end of the game, in terms of reliability and solidity and I repeat, especially thanks to Max4L, Ableton still asphalts Bitwig today, without any doubt, but maybe still for a while..

Yeah,, but in able they still haven't implemented pretty primative functions.
Such as adjusting fades to multiple audio clips on a track, or trimming the length, or adjusting the phase of multiple clips,

Have to do it one by one,, which is bs if you ask me,,
So I would take Bitwig or Cubase over able.. Unless they implement this basic functions.

FL Studio is the only option with lifetime upgrade plan and it's workflow is outdated.
Bitwig will cost you almost same as ableton live in 3 years time period. Remember, after your upgrade plan is over, you get to keep the Bitwig Studio, only the newer updates won't get delivered to you. Which means you can buy once and wait until the feature you really needed arrives. Isn't it a great deal?
