No More Negative Rating in Comments screenshot
Quick update: It's been on my mind for a long time, but now it just seems necessary - I had to disable negative rating in comments, because it caused too much problems, and most of you know what i mean.

Practice shows that there is not much use for it anyway - if a comment violates our rules, it shouldn't be downvoted - it should be reported.

So no more negativity in comments

Thanks Olymoon, Daz and rico88 for helping me make this decision.

I agree with you & SAiNT.
That option was in most cases just a "vehicle" to start flaming wars and unnecessary disputes. Some abused of it heavily...down voting because they couldn't accept things as they are nor different opinions. Thank you.

or, well, it would help making meaningless and wrong things disappear faster.
It just means there will be more work to do for olymoon.

When a true meaningless comment is written, no matter if it's downvoted or not, I have to take action. SO it's the same work.

I'm fairly sure that if a certain comment has a very low rating it is hidden automatically, and if it's automatic is definitely something you don't have to do manually.

It's the same, I have to clear it and send a PM to it's author...

so, the "this comment has been downrated" thing is not automatic? Good to know

Yes , it was automatic, what it's not is that Mod have to be aware of why this happen and there for have to read the hidden comment to, if necessary take action.

It will bring differentiation - not every Internet board has to degrade to YouTube low levels!

Your comment is completely useless so it's been cleared, please dont repeat this again

And yet it has 4 likes (including mine, which I gave when the comment was still visible).
If it was truly useless it would have had at least the same amount of dislikes and if it wasn't the case it meant that more people got something from it rather than being annoyed because of it. All we can see now is a comment (which some people enjoyed) that has been removed because you thought it was useless for the sake of discussion.
It actually was satirizing the whole matter in some way and it could have led to discussions about this very topic but hey, what do I know.

administrators and moderators are thirsty for more work, I am confident that they can solve flood mirros, which now has the original size of the conversation, and that may be occupying the beginning of a discussion would be on the subject of the original post.

Yes I agree Saint to many people abusing it.

So, it's like people shot other people. Some people can blame the gun, somebody else the person pulling the trigger. What happens if you remove all guns? If you really want to kill somebody you can just throw a rock on somebody's head or just slit somebody's throat with a pencil sharpner.
All I want to say is that no matter how many limits you put on a potential killer, he will do whatever he can to kill a person.

No, no, no...your comparison is really out of place / off topic.
Fact is that many, many people here were (are) lazy, arrogant and sometimes offending over the limits! Some of them USED the down voting option ONLY. Nobody can destroy another person with that of course...the most stupid may believe it but they're wrong!

And why an Administrator shouldn't have the right to change what he thinks is the best?

Nobody said saint shouldn't change anything. He can do whatever he wants with his creation.
And no, if you think the comparison is out of place you probably don't get what I meant with it, especially the part where people can still go out of their way to express their disappointment or negativity about something.
Because of that, now we have a system similar to facebook where no matter how many people disagree with something or just don't consider it meaningful or just right, that comment will just be "positive" and we won't be able to understand it unless somebody replies and he gets an overwhelming amount of likes. With the old system it was like reddit, where meaningful content go up, and not relevant stuff goes down.
The fact that some people abuse a system doesn't mean the system itself is not good, if anything it MIGHT lead to a more obnoxious way to express opinions about something in an efficient way.
I'm curious to see how many people will actually comment giving some actual feedback or insight about something now that the downvotes are gone, but I am afraid it won't stimulate creative discussions at all.

How to report comments? Will there be "Report" button next to comment?

I am not joking, serious question, because there were many, many times I wanted to report about certain people, but didn't know how.. just simply sending PM to Oly I didn't find a good option, knowing how already busy he was. Now after this, he will be HELL a busy here.
