P821 MDN Tape is based on Marc Daniel Nelson’s personal Stephens 821 2” tape machine

Which was utilized at the Producer’s Workshop, renowned for producing iconic albums such as The Wall, Aja, Rumours, and others. The P821 signature sound is very open and has a large sonic character, as there is very little electronics and zero transformers in the tape machine, making the sound stage massive and no aggressive compression or clamping down. This is the first plugin of its type where you’re actually hearing TAPE and how it reacts. Now, hearing the P821 MDN Tape plugin recreates that same experience. It’s truly incredible and unlike anything else out there.

Six core instruments from the orchestral woodwind section, recorded individually and seamlessly blended into an elegant ensemble patch for effortless sketching. Like our other orchestral libraries in the Blueprint range, it was captured in the spacious Nave Studios hall, offering a versatile selection of microphone positions- close, mid and far. The library features two articulations: a crisp, characterful staccato and an expressive sustain, dynamically controlled via the mod wheel.

Randonspiel is a quirky, unique instrument based on the sampling of Randon’s travel glockenspiel. The instrument was sampled with 4 velocity layers across the entire range (2.5 octaves). Then the bottom half was unnaturally extended to five a full, playable range with some strange and unique sounds in the lower registers.
To take it a step further, the instrument was then morphed in 4 different ways for each of the 4 velocity layers, giving 4 different characters and sounds to the instrument. The 4 different layers are then blended to your wishes using an XY controller.
