RandRobin is a round robin effect emulation that emulates humanization for drum elements such as snares, cymbles, hi-hats and perccution.

It's based on a randomization of pitch values over the full frecuency spectrum of the signal. The plugin cuts the signal into 3 frequency bands (low, middle, high) and applies random pitch changes to each band separately. The frequency band knobs determaine how far the difference between the original pitch and the manipulated pitch can go (pitchbending).

Recently I was donated the source code to The Kiss of Shame, a magnetic tape emulation plug-in from 2014, originally developed by Eros Marcello and friends. The plug-in was never finished or released, but Eros has graciously allowed it to become open source. And while its specs may seem like they pale in comparison to more modern computers, its sound and legacy continue to inspire people to this day.

My brother gave me a beautiful kalimba for Christmas. Of course, the first thing that came to my mind was to sample it. Said and done! I sampled the 10 tone kalimba with up to 6 velocity layers and stretched the samples to get over two octaves. In addition to the sampled kalimba, I came up with an arpeggiator engine to create inspirational and atmospheric patterns.

Hi, I made this instrument a couple of years ago. I wanted to try the entire process of sampling drum instrument. My old friend Michal Zubaty provided his own drum kit that he plays. I recorded his drum kit with his settings and tuning in a small room covered by a lot of carpets, blankets and acoustic panels to get tight, vintage, raw sound. I also used non-traditional mic settings – two mics in front of the drums. The first mic (Front MONO) is below and captures dense frequencies.
