thanks a lot! I am a true virus owner, but would like to try this, could you please confirm the steps?

1 I put the DSP emulator folder in the VST3 folder (cubase 13)

2 I delete "firmware_51700"

3 I copy in the DSP folder the firmware from "original OS.v5.1.1"

4 I bang some sounds!!!

PS: I alsa saw there are the factory banks/templates, where should I put em? I obviously have the originals and mine banks in the default location (windows). Does it conflicts with this dsp?

1) yes

2) use the bin file in the ROM folder from the download and place it next to the plugin you want to use

3) no need see 2)

4) sounds/banks and shit can be placed in any folder, which you need to link as data source in the browser, browser scan very quick. try a bit around its very intuitive ...

I just noticed, but I could be wrong, the patch browser of this version of OsTirus is different than the last one released here?

It seemd to me looking different, and maybe better...they changed something?

Thank you so much, works great. However, I see the same preset 2/3/4 times in the browser, any clue on how to clear duplicates? Thank you.

Deleting the duplicates would be very time consuming as they are usually in different banks and banks contain 128 presets. What you would literally have to do is save every sound as single and then assemble your own banks from them. I suggest you to just ignore duplicates.

Another "quick and dirty" solution is to play all the presets and put the ones you like in Favourites folder, losing the duplicates and the ones you don't like in the process.

Another solution may be Virus librarian. Maybe it can automate the removal of duplicates somehow?

Emulating still selling commercial synths isn't a good idea and will simply get you in hot water. Current-class synths likely have a much more demanding dsp (or multiples) and likely wouldn't be viable in any case.
