30 Day Singer Avoiding Bad Vocal Technique TUTORiAL-FANTASTiC screenshot
FANTASTiC | 03 May 2022 | 208 MB
We can broadly define a bad vocal technique as anything that hurts you or prevents you from singing with your best, most free and beautiful tone. But we’re gonna get a little more specific. This tutorial will cover the three bad techniques that I see with a majority of voice students. Part 1 covers pushing for high notes; we’ll talk about what to do instead, and practice with a few exercises. Part 2 is about neglecting either head voice or chest voice. And part 3 will cover the bad techniques that result from trying to sound good. Now, of course we do want to sound good, but some weird stuff can happen when we’re trying so hard. These techniques are most common with beginning students, but any level can benefit from these exercises and reminders.

why there are so many negative votes? I don't understand
If you only look at one side of the coin, you'll never truly know if it's a coin.

If this free website provides an option to up or downvote a post, one have the right and freedom to do so. I don't like singing tuts. I don't up or downvote'em at all! If other users don't like it, it's none of my business, but I understand and respect their opinion.
There is no knowledge that is not power.

My problem is not their freedom to express their opinion, my problem is the misusage of the downvote button. In fact you cannot "understand and respect their opinion" because there is no tangible way of knowing their opinion; it's not implicit in the downvote. We don't know what these people want to tell us. Well, actually, I know what they want to tell us, they wanna tell us that they don't want to see more posts if it's not of their interest. They downvote in an intent to discourage the uploaders who make an effort to provide abundant, audio/musician related content for free on the site. But people is so damn selfish and entitled, they want to shape the website in a way that satisfies their needs only. So there's nothing actually wrong with the post, in this case the downvote button is being used as a "hate" button. Pure hate. And I can't respect that whatsoever. So I would like them to know that If they wanna improve the website, they should start by giving feedback and constructive criticism, which is completely legitimate. You wanna improve the website? Don't downvote for no reason, instead, vocalize your thoughts about what bothers you and suggest ideas to manage it.

@FilipeCroaro as all who have donwvoted this post, you misunderstood what for is the vote option on posts.

The vote is to express the state of the material being posted. , not a personal opinion.

Personal opinion should be expressed with knowledgeable arguments. This here, is not Facebook or Youtube, where people "express" their "opinions" by clicking on a button, which brings nothing on the table for the community.

It seems that you didn't understood what are post votes for:

Rating is meant to note the functionality of the release as itself, (if it does work or not, are there missing files or not, etc.. ) not your opinion about it
To express your opinion use comments, if you think that the material being posted is useless or bad, or what ever is your opinion, write a knowledgeable comment with detailed arguments.

Why is it like this?
Because post rating stays with the poster, and posters get higher or lower rating depending if they care about the integrity of what they post, not about what one member or the other think about it. these are 2 different things.

I reckon the reason is people hate massive posts of the same label or topic (its a kind of "spam" for them) This happened before (many times) and in some cases, admins took some actions to stop or fix it.

I'm not a coder, but I think this can be relatively easy to fix by implementing a filter in the front page, which could be customized in your profile settings. There are ways to approach this problem.

don't be influenced by the downvotes. The tips and exercises are really really good

It's a shame with the downvotes. Over many years I've studied with 5 or 6 different voice teachers so I know something about it. As online lessons go, these are actually very good quality. If you poke around online you'll also see they are well reviewed.

I think the problem is they probably could have been packaged differently in terms of how they were released -- for example, they could have been bundled in groups of ten rather than take up full pages on the site, one after another. Also, the first 40 or so of them had a bitly homepage link that gave a warning about proceeding to the '30 Day Singer' website. Between that and no sample offered with the release it did give it a sort of spammy feel -- I did try to mention that to Fantastic yesterday but I don't think the point got through.

So, my point is there were some errors all around, how people downvoted, how it was released here... like I said, it's too bad though, these are very decent lessons for those looking to learn voice.

Now THIS is actual feedback. Downvoters & haters, take note.

I agree with most of what you're saying too, but the errors were relatively minimal. Like the webpage link problem: yes, it's something that had to be adressed, but in no way would that make the actual release/post invalid. Because the download links/mirrors work, the description is congruent with the product, and the content works fine. So your first comment made a lot of sense, and it's what should be done.

Sadly the downvotes have little to do with those errors.

Thank you holdup.

The funky webpage link doesn't make the release/post invalid, but multiply times 40 or so posts with no sample of what you're releasing and a homepage that bitly is trying to block, well, I can see how it could leave a funny taste in the mouth of people here, some of whom are clearly young, impatient, and living frustrating lives.

Regardless, these lessons are in large measure high quality releases. I'm not clear if there were still more of them, but if there are I hope Fantastic doesn't get put off with releasing them. People here could have been much, much nicer over Fantastic's efforts.

@Becky999 Finally a comment about the content. Thank you. I was wondering if I could recommend these courses to a singer friend .
