When you are near death and have recorded all your audios, next to the end of your career, you will hear a lot about 'Binaural and Multi-Channel Audio'. I know there are several multi-channel audio systems since the 70's, but not the way for recording, especially Binaural, now imagine this 2 audio tracks on another dimension.

The first litet and primitive Binaural experience I had, was listening to those first Jazz records recorded in New Orleans, when the man with a long microphone cable walks towards the musician who will play or improvise, then we hear the saxophonist tone down and the piano starts to increase the volume throughout your boxes due to the approach of the microphone. These vinyl records were recorded inside these jazz bars.
As an example listen to this 'Charlie Christien old record, you'll hear the microphone walking to get near the musician that will play his solo, [between tempo 11:40 to 11:50 the sax starts to play, and you can hear this transition] or [YT time 17:54 to 18:00 when the pianist starts his own, you can just hear a far piano, then the mic goes in his direction.]

The great was at uni, many people sitting around 30 small boxes that distributed the sound through sound-based calculations based on the proper recording, which had been made in the middle of an Indian tribe in the middle of the Amazon, we heard the Indians running on our side, the footsteps of the dry leaves were on the ground and the voice and song above our heads.

I think there's a potential for binaural in broadcast, because unlike other surround formats, binaural 3D is just 2 audio tracks (so low bandwidth requirements) tailored for headphones,
and also there's the waves nx like stuff which makes head-movement/position audio alteration which is also kinda immersive experience,
yes the actual binaural creation gear is expensive (neumann head etc..) but on the consumer/listener side there's literally no additional cost over current stereo listening
