Join Reason expert Thomas Cochran for a fun and informative sound design video tutorial using nothing but Reason instruments and plugins. In this hour-long course, you'll learn several effective techniques for creating memorable melodic sounds, most of which can be applied to other virtual instruments as well, so you can really put your own sonic stamp on your tracks. These videos are for users who have a basic familiarity with Reason and basic sound design skills.

Thomas begins the course by creating a resampled keys patch using Europa and the NN-19 sampler. Discover how resampling opens up a vast new world of musical possibilities. Next, learn how to transform a simple Rhodes chord stab into an ambient keys patch with the Mimic creative sampler.

Several more demonstrations follow, including a granular pad (created by using the Grain synthesizer to transform a vintage Yamaha CS-80 sample), a super saw pluck (using Europa and stacked unisons), a textured lead (with the help of Europa's spectral filters), and more!

To get a better idea of what each Reason Studio video contains, check out the individual Reason video tutorial descriptions on this page. Reason has everything you need to create stellar, one-of-a-kind patches, right at your fingertips. Don't settle for sterile presets that only get you "in the ballpark" anymore...
