I have a method to install the new Omnisphere updates, this method needs the keygen provided by R2R, so Omnisphere changed its activation method, The new updates do not show the id of your machine and this causes that the keygen cannot be used, so my method is the following.

1.- Before installing the update, manually copy some of the files from the old folders according to your operating system or plugin version that you are going to use.

2.- Start your Daw and obtain your Machine ID, I recommend that you keep this ID for future updates and do not have to perform these steps again

3.- Once you have your ID, close your DAW and install the new updates and proceed to patch and generate the code for the plugins as before.

That's it I did the test for MAC and Windows and it works fine.

It all depends on how you use it.
If you just use it to play around with it, you're fine.(oops! No fine)
On the other hand, if you wish to record music, it is better to write down on each track the precise name of the patch or multi used in order to find it if it was not kept on the song when it is reopened.
If you like to create patches or multis you have to create them quickly because otherwise the time bomb will work and the patch or multi will not be saved!
Either stay in 2.7 and hope for a quick solution to the backup problems or go back to version 2.6.3, without the new patches and the few fixes or / and improvements offered by version 2.7. but with the possibility of quietly backing up.

In short! For you to see ...

As for Trilian and Keyscape I use them with Omnisphere mainly, they work but for the backup, I don't think that changes much ...

Last solution, be patient and save the time necessary to offer it to yourself!
It's all about choice ...

Something else that I just noticed and not the least.
In multi mode, the sounds that use the arpeggiator change rhythm after a few bars, the arpeggiator goes into a "spin" in a way!
The arpeggiator is also one of the elements of the time bomb ...
This is starting to do a lot!
I will have to do without the few hundred new sounds for now and go back to version 2.6.3 !!!

If updates were installed after 06.2020 Omnisphere, Trilian and Keyscape, then you simply will not be able to install past updates for everything to work stably, you need to completely reinstall all products (except StylusRMX)

I reinstalled this version 2.6.3 and didn't need to reinstall everything.
Just installed, batchmod, patched component and vst (removed the vst3), text in terminal for that Omnisphere works in Logic and everything is ok.
I can create multis that register 100% without a time bomb.
No problem with unexpected tempo change of the arpeggiator, everything seems perfect unlike versions 2.6.4 and 2.7
I haven't noticed anything yet!

Do you have a source of information that points this out or personal experience?

Load 3 tracks into your sequencer, (omni, trillian, keyscape) change the loaded preset, leave your project to rest for 40 minutes; - then start duplicating tracks with the creation of a new track.
I just drink and listen to music.

I did part of what you told me ...
I loaded three tracks (omni, trillian, keyscape) I specify: something that I never do because in this case I will have done three tracks with omni having keyscape and trillian in it.
I put an arp preset in omni, a bass preset in trillian, and a piano in keyscape.
I let "simmer" at rest for 1 hour then I created a new track but without duplicating with logic I prefer to create a new track than to duplicate an existing one it is perhaps slightly slower but I was bothered in the spent with the track duplicating, nothing to do with spectrasonics, suddenly I prefer to create a new one, in short ... I did not notice anything disturbing for my part except the image of the instruments in "magnifying glass" version ".
That is to say that if I choose keyscape or keyscrape creative instruments in omnisphere, the image is not whole but partial with a magnified view.
A little sad but as for the sound there is no change with a kind of time bomb that will modify something as with versions 2.6.4 and 2.7.0, it does not matter!
Keyscape and Trillian meanwhile have the sound and image clearly visible with the latest available version of Audioz.

I had this problem too. I had to put the component on the desktop and use
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - /Users/*YOUR USER NAME*/Desktop/Omnisphere.component

Got a new solution working.
Omnisphere now copies the actual challenge code to the clipboard instead of an encoded url. Means you now just have to click on the blue 'click here', run the keygen, paste the challenge code and generate the response.

Will apply this to the other plugins soon and also try to get it working for mac users.

I don't know if it does, didn't notice any timebombs before.
Probably have to install Omnisphere again to test/trigger that behaviour,
only have the basic folder hirarchy on my disk so Omnisphere at least
opens up for testing but I don't have any library in these folders.

In the debugger I saw some lines that said something like "you have to authorize to use this preset" so there are 2 (probably more) possibilities: 1st they now protect some of the presets or
2nd the old r2r keygen doesn't patch the rsa key in all parts of the plugins in the most recent updates.

In previous updates the rsa key had to be patched 4 times or so and in 2.7.0 I found 6-7 spots to apply it, depending on the plugin format.

We'll see I'd say.
Hope I'm able to trigger these timebombs to take a look for a solution if needed.

And also in version 2.6.4c at the beginning of the specifications !?

Still, with version 2.6.3c I can record my multis unlike version 2.6.4c which no longer records them after about twenty minutes, see a little more ...

With version 2.7.0f the same as 2.6.4c a time bomb prevents multis recording ... and I noticed that the arpeggiator when I was playing multis who was using it, after a few bars l 'arpeggiator was getting out of hand by itself ...
On the other hand, in the characteristics of version 2.7.0f there is no mention of improving the authorization process ?!

High Sierra 10.13.6 user here. There seems to be a problem, when I use user preset it won't save it and just becomes empty again. I think I will roll back, but thanks for the release effort.

I am an omnisphere heavy user but I dont even know how to update it adding the issues aforementioned means I shall stay away unless some soulmate could help me to instal it using teamvier. I have other stuffs to update but Im the baby boom generation and its not easy for me to leave the hardware behind and to run after learning how to deal it for I can end up with no sound at all, Its way too risk. Thus, if some distant friend could help me I truly aprecciate it. Thanks.

That's because you didn't run the patch sequence. The OP stated (clearly) that Spectrasonics "has changed its activation method"! That's why "in all the years I've been using Omnisphere I've never had to obtain my Machine ID". You need to READ the post!!

Then finally I noticed the folder in the release called 'Old Files WIN', which is an older Omnisphere.dll, which will show you your CHALLENGE CODE (why is everybody saying 'Machine ID', which means nothing to me, because we've always called it a CHALLENGE CODE, for fuck's sake.)
So no wonder loads of people are confused about this release. Can we all use the same terminology which we've always been using? When I saw 'Machine ID' in so many comments, I was thinking "What the hell does that mean?" Everybody knows what 'Challenge Code' means, why are some people calling it 'Machine ID'?



Forget it... you're not qualified to use these updates.
Go buy Omnisphere 2.
