Hi Fredbloggs I kindly need ur help with my long agony :) I'm stuck on step 7 when I run the Omnisphere pkg. installation it keeps saying steam folder not found even after following all steps and it doesn't let me install it .. what am I missing ?

When you say, "Unzip Steam 1-15," do you mean to unpack the first part of each of the 15 parts of this download? And when you say the iso should be opened in the same location that you'll put your steam folder in, do you mean just the same drive? Or the same folder? I keep getting errors unpacking and the endless folders get confusing. I managed to get Omnisphere to run, but there's no sound and most of the patches won't load. Appreciate the instructions. Just trying to figure out what the problem is.

Many thanks for the post, greatly appreciated. I went through the posts but could not see it, at the moment, I am on v2, v2.5+ is 64bit only, possible to have Omnisphere v2 (32bit at least) and v2.5+ on the same system? Anyone done it?

Yes. I installed the latest 32Bit update (2.4.2c), which placed the dll's here

32Bit: C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\Omnisphere.dll
64Bit: C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\x64\Omnisphere.dll

Then I installed the 2.6 update, which replaced only the 64Bit dll.
Now I have both versions running but the 32Bit sometimes gives an error because of the updated sound sources but the patches still work.

Btw. If I would have the resources, I also could have created an installer that does all the steps for you. Only the activation would have been left then.

But with my current shitty system it doesn't work.

Hi. I want to keep my old omni 1 32 bits. And also install this new one. Where should I put the Steam folder? Because if i put it inside the spectrasonics folder, it will overwrite my 32 bit steam folder. Right?

You can have both BUT the 32 bit is only good up until version 2.4c So dont expect to be able to use the features available after the major upgrade in 2.5 in your 32 bit

Yes. But why do that? IS like having a Ferrari and only driving it in first gear. The Omnisphere 1 Library is 2019 patches of which 1027 came from Atmosphere and 144 factory multis. The Omnisphere 2.6 library has over 10,000 patches, 5,318 soundsources (now throw in all the extras included in this release) Big difference.

To answer your question, for the simple reason that I have barely covered 10% of the sounds of version 1, so for now I only need to take advantage of the novelty of omnisphere 2 (the excellent improvements of the Arpeggiator for example).

Finally I tested but it does not work, so I see that it is impossible to install Omnisphere 1 (with sounds), then update Omnisphere to version 2 without installing the library of Omnisphere 2.
If we do that, there is no sound and we get several errors (waveform and soundscape missing ...)

I wish every one would do the same thing you do. Im in super-seed mode now until some others start to seed. So it could be a slow one for some.

Thanks again! (and again) for this and for torrent. As i promised, i will be seeding as much as i can. Now, i'm making space in my hard disc to acommodate it so I haven't started yet.

Now, I have a noob question. I'm running omnisphere 1 in Nuendo 4 (air release) 32 bit and it's working perfectly. Do i need to uninstall it to install Onmi 2? Would it be possible to run both? I'm worried about all the projects I have on omni 1 but i more worried about this omni 2 latest update being 64 bit and not running in nuendo anymore. Any thoughts?

YW, a similar question was answered in the positive by myself and @r4e just a few minutes ago. Since this is a 64 bit update it is not going to alter your 32bit dll. They are located in different folders, so don't worry about it.

I understood your question, that is the reason why I said it was similar to a previous one. To be clear, since Spectrasonics parted ways with UVI, it has consistently kept the same installation path for its 32bit plugins which is different from the one for the 64bit. Since there is no 32bit Omnisphere after 2.4c, your already installed Omnisphere 1 dll will not be compromised.

FredBloggs put a detailed set of Mac instructions on page 4 of these comments. The "most difficult part" is patching the plugins. Without getting into too much detail, a Mac plugin, for example Omnisphere.component, is actually a type of folder, if you right click on it and select "show package contents" you can select "Contents", then "MacOS" and then finally the Omnisphere executable file which is the one you need to patch. Do the same thing with Omnisphere.vst . Take your time and read FredBloggs instructions carefully. They work fine.

YW. The problem with OBOOM has to be at your end. If you are using my PeepLink I guarantee you that there are not double files.
As to your request to upload the torrent, I am sorry to tell you that I can't fulfill your request. I made the torrent for our members because they promised to seed it. To upload it on any torrent site it would require that I do more work than that I already have done with this release, and answer more questions from users of that site. If the members that have download it here, seed it as they promised, you would not have problems downloading it. I run a test from a friend's house 3 hours ago, and it took him 23 minutes from start to finish.

This is manual installation and not the dvd installation.
like the instruction says :
Step 2.
Unzip STEAM parts 1-15 and extract the ISO (the ISO should be extracted to the location in which your STEAM folder is going to reside or moved there once it is extracted).The result is going to be a 83 GB folder labeled "Spectrasonics". Inside this Specrasonics folder, you are going to find the STEAM folder.


I thought its the original installation.
