Error code 3 using "unrar"

can someone tell me how to do a clean install, or reinstall this on my Mac that already has Omnisphere on it? I keep getting errors when opening it with the current copy I have, that's why I want to try to do a clean install of this one.

Will it mess up my current Steam folder where I have all my presets saved? Anybody know how I should do it?

Some MAC guys have been having issues installing omnisphere. One of the members provided instructions. Look for them on page 5 or send that member a PM. As to your presets, I can tell you that if you copy this STEAM folder onto yours, it would not erase your presets unless you allow it to do so. To be safe copy the USER folder in STEAM>Omnisphere>Settings Library>Presets

On step 6 -

STEP 6(b).
Run Omnisphere as administrator. You are going to get a black screen while Omnisphere creates the necessary files it needs. Do not panic.Be patient, after several minutes the Omnisphere registration window will open and provide you with a Challenge Code.


When I run omnisphere, it just stays black and crashes. I've followed the guide exactly and I've even unzipped everything multiple times

I'm giving the torrent a go. Any utorrent specialists out there? I'm getting terrible D/L speed. I've enabled DHT, Local Peer Discovery and Peer Exchange. Connected to around 30 seeds out of 108, but 180 people downloading. Will take forever, worried last seed will vanish before finishing

EDIT: I've got great seeding ratio on a couple of torrent sites going back 10 years and routinely seed torrents for months, sometimes longer, even though my connection speed is nothing special. Will support this as long as I can, assuming I can get it.

This is strange. It would seems that when I pull up the utorrent GUI to monitor the speed, the D/L speed starts to drop. When I monitor speeds from notification tray icon, speeds stay steady. No kidding, I have done this several times and it's consistent.

Guys I provided you with a SHA 256. Compare yours with it before saying something is wrong. It leads to confusion and others may not download thinking something is wrong. I have said a 100 times that all those files had been tested. If here is something wrong it is at your end and I CANT help you with that. Either you dont know how to open them correctly or there are bits missing from your download..

ONCE AGAIN I am going to say this. IF a release is working for the majority of users BUT you are having problems with it, common sense dictates that the problem is at your end. A release either works or it doesn't work for ANYONE. This release was tested by me on 4 different computers. Two different Windows 7 and two different Windows 10. I wanted to make sure that it worked. Several members have already installed it.
Everyone with problems says that they have done everything as instructed. Nevertheless, retrace your steps. For Step 6(b) Make sure you have full permission as to the Spectrasonics folder, run the software as an administrator and WAIT without playing with your mouse. When the black screen appears go and drink a couple of beers. It can take 5,10, 20 minutes. Maybe longer. It depends on your hardware.

In Step 6a, On a mac are we only suppose to patch omnisphere in the VST folder?

and step6b I keep getting an error that says unable to access the plug in folder at USER/NAME/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/STEAM/Omnisphere , How do i fix that?

During installing the update on step 7 i keep getting an error saying "cant open output file"

Normally you should only need to do the plug-ins you intend to use.

As I answered in a PM to another member here :
There are two places that plug-ins can be installed on a Mac :
Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components for AU, VST… etc. according to plug-in format… or
~/Library/Audio/Plug-ins… as above but in your user library.
AFAIK, by default, Omnisphere installs plug-ins to the main library, making them accessible to all users on the Mac. This is the folder you should be accessing therefore, but anything you try to do there will ask for your admin password.
As I said in my instructions, you're probably best off dragging the plugins to your desktop where they become yours to do with as you please, and once patched, drag them back into your plug-ins folder.
Patch the plugs BEFORE re-starting Omnisphere and entering the answer to the challenge code or else il will not work !!

The STEAM folder does NOT have plug-ins in it, only data.

FredBloggs advice worked for me. (Thanks FredBloggs)

I had to make the User/Libray visible in Finder.
I also had to change permissions for the Spectrasonics folder for all three categories of users PLUS also click on the small tab “task” below in left-corner of the same info-window and allow permissions for all subfolders.
"cant open output file” error (step 7) wil disappear.

Hey bro and thanks for your instructions. However I believe I have done everything right including patch the component AND vst but when I open the standalone of omnisphere in my applications, it says "The omnisphere.component plugin exists at the correct location, but cannot be loaded. Restarting your system may solve this problem."

Ok guys I was able too download all files it’s good to go my only problem now is, i exhausted every option to extract the iso on Mac ???? to no avail, don’t want to be a pest so I’ll just wait till someone on here that uses Mac figure out how to extract the iso, Mac doesn’t have winrar to get it beside Unarchchive and keka which is I try’s.

After you extract the RAR files, they all have '7z' in the name, such as:
20180906_120200.part01.7z.rar

Remove that '.7z' in all, as such:
20180906_120200.part01.rar

Now Keka will unRAR them correctly.
