I would add for any other ding dongs out there that didn't think of the obvious right away to add a step 6.5 to the R2R instructions. Once you've drag and dropped the license the keygen created to double-click on the authorize file and that will authorize 9.7.1.

I kept opening and closing Ableton and getting pissed that the authorize file wasn't working until the ever dimming light bulb inside my brain finally flickered out enough brain power to figure the problem out.

This don't has setup guys, u need to copy and past in your Application folder, and next, download the "Keygen APP". Once u downloaded the "Keygen APP", Drag it to your application folder. Next step > Right click on the archive "Keygen.exe" > Open With... > Select Keygen App > Minimize it > Disconnect your wifi > Open Ableton > When ableton ask you for the License, choose the option wich says "Don't have internet on this computer"> Copy your CPU CODE > Put it on Keygen Generate > Generate License > Save it on a folder > Drag the .auz archive and drop in Ableton Icon.

Well this worked for me. I was trying to install this for hours !

2. I have an Authorize.auz file for an install of Live 9.1. Can I use that one instead of running the keygen?

I don't know how to install this on my Mac, when I drop the 64-bit version on my Applications folder, when I open it there's an error message. Can someone help me ? Thank you

Ah I figured it out, I wasn't getting the hardware code.
This is what I did..

*So you need to extract everything first with winrar.
*Then you decide which version you want, 32 or 64 bit folder.
*Extract that to another folder called "1" in Local Disk (C:)
*Then I ran the Setup.msi to install ableton in Program Data.
*I didn't disconnect my net, when ableton finished installing I ran it.
*Clicked no internet on this computer, saved the info on the next page
*Saved to desktop, open the saved doc in notepage to get your Hardware Code.
*Copy the Hardware code.

*Copy the keygen to the same folder where ableton was installed:
This PC > Local Data (C:) > ProgramData > Ableton > Live 9 Suite > Program

*Run the keygen and copy the hardware code to the keygen
*Click generate, save the Authorize.auz to the same folder where ableton was installed:
This PC > Local Data (C:) > ProgramData > Ableton > Live 9 Suite > Program
*Close the keygen, double click the Authorize.auz and Ableton should be authorized!

Is there anyway to patch latest beta version? They fixed very annoyng bug, and i really want to start using this DAW again. But i tired to wait, latest beta version was 1 month ago.

nothing i tried got this to work on mac osx 8.4 until i took these steps

1- unpack with keka to desktop
2- unzip all files
3- rightclick show package contents on the live suite package
4- type chmod 754 <drag and drop the Ableton Live executable in the terminal located in macos folder> (this tells osx its an executable file)
5- run ableton click no internet and get hardware code
6- drop keygen.exe onto keygen.app 2016 (dada) then type code in and save .auz to desktop
7- drag .auz file onto ableton 9.7 suite package
8- bow down to R2R new god of audiowarez.

notes:- just batchmod didnt work, also keygen runner didnt work fully with keygen.

I got this to work no problem but i think there maybe a bug with it,i'm not sure.it seems like you can't edit multiple highlighted clips at the same time.everytime i press ctrl+A and go to say alter the length of the multiple clips,it un-highlights the clips that were highlighted with the ctrl+A key shortcut,and only edits the one clip/audio file...am i going mad,or this release just buggy?

1- Download & Install Max7 from Cycling74
2- Download & Install Max for live essentials v2

When Error "Live is corrupted / Not fully functioning / bla bla bla" when opening appears try batching with batchmod. should work then.

Ok, so as far as things go I installed Live and everything works fine.
But seems to be a big bug in here on my version. In Live's categories all the Instruments Effects (Audio+MIDI) are missing. Only previous saved files in the user library appear in the lists.
Strange because in the App Content under Devices/Defaults every -adg / .adv files are there, they just dont appear in lives category dropdown menu ...

Anybody got the same problem / bug ?

Bros... i've downloaded from Peeplinks and i've downloaded the torrents as well. Still no .dmg to install. I'm sure everything else works fine as some of you have already stated but in the .txt file it instructed to unintall the older version. I trashed it* and emptied my trash can. What did I do wrong? Where can I get a .dmg that will work with this 9.7.1? Can ANYONE help me?

here are ableton direct cdn links to dmg files:

All you need to do is just install ORIGINAL Ableton Suite from dmg, get appropriate (32 or 64bit) PATCHED version from peeplink, open it with Show package contents, go Contents/MacOS , copy Live binary to desktop, change permission to 755 for Live binary in the terminal (chmod 755 ~/Desktop/Live), open using Show package contents ORIGINAL Ableton Live 9 Suite.app in /Applications, overwrite original Live binary with permission corrected patched one that is on your ~/Desktop.
Then as usual - hardware key and keygen.
Voila!
