Ableton Live lets you easily create, produce and perform music within one intuitive interface. Live keeps everything in sync and works in real-time, so you can play and modify your musical ideas without interrupting the creative flow.

Ableton has updated Live 9 to v9.7 which brings more sample slicing options, a new drum layout and on-screen display improvements to Push, Ableton's hardware instrument. Plus you can route audio or MIDI right from the unit, so you can stay in your flow while you switch ins and outs for sampling and resampling. And if you don't use Push, the new slicing capabilities are now features of all editions of Live 9 – from Lite to Suite.

Improvements and feature changes:

New Simpler Slicing modes (Beat, Region, Manual) are now available.
As a consequence of the new Simpler features, Live Sets created with this version cannot be opened with previous versions anymore.
The beat time of connected apps in a Link session will be aligned when starting Live's playback with Tap Tempo or via Looper.
Updated manual, lessons and info text translations.

The Keygen is telling me my Hardware code is wrong when I DON'T use the dashes. When I DO input the dashes, I get an error and the Keygen shuts down. Used both KeyGen Runner and WK

I had trouble with WK (keygen would just crash), but KeyGen APP (by dada) worked for me .. are you using the patched app or did you download from ableton?

I used the patched app.

I deleted my old App, Transfer over the new app from the Patched file. I also reset the permission on it. But the Hardware code was a fail.

Edit: I will DL the dada App and try again.

hmmm. I will admit it did take me 2 tries.... and had some issue with some of the keygen runners, but the dada app was recommended by Chachi awhile back as a solid alternative to some of the others, so I tried that, and had no problems....

what osx are you on 499?

anyone else having problems with connecting a midi keyboard to ableton? mine aint connecting

I haven't seen that happen, probably has something to do with possible drivers for the midi keyboard, or if you are on osx, check your audio/midi app....

I'm on Mac with Sierra and having trouble, it unzips the 'Ableton_LiveSuite_971_OSX_Patched.7z' with a few errors regarding some sound files but still gives me the choice of the patched 32bit and 64bit. When I click on the 64bit application to load I just get 'can't be opened'...am I doing something wrong?

same, i get errors extracting the zip with unarchiver, with keka no errors but when i go to launch the application "The application “Ableton Live 9 Suite” can’t be opened." i've set the file permissions the same as my other ableton & still says the same thing.

rusky12: hmmm... I haven't encountered any errors, are you un'raring or un-zipping using keka? (recommended by 12 out of 13 specialists here! :))...

perhaps try re-downloading lest there were some errors in transfer, because I haven't seen that...

Win10Pro64bit - Uninstalled 9.7.0 and Installed 9.7.1 No problems (All VSTs, Default templates, Max for live, etc is all there). I also did not have to authorize/register anything as it recognized my previous install being registered.

Lastly - I extracted ableton_live_suite_9.7.1_64 directly to C:\ and had no problems from there but when I left it in a longer folder path it gave me an error finding a midi related file.

Alright, can ANYBODY please confirm that they got this to work with macOS Sierra (10.12.1)? I tried installing this multiple ways and every time I try opening the app it tells me "The application "Ableton Live 9 Suite.app" can't be opened."

What am I supposed to do with the supplied .app files after extraction? Why is there no .dmg whatsoever?

If ANYONE has gotten this to work PLEEEEEASE let me know how exactly you got it to work <3

Same problem here with El Capitan. Tried redownloading it and reinstalling it many times without any success.
So I forgot version 9.7.1 and installed the 9.7.0 below that works perfectly well :

dont know, but that could help u. i short the folder name on my HD to Ableton.Live.V... and then unrar it. sometime it could have an error when ure foldernames are too long

last time(9.7) i just downloaded 7zip and extracted to c:/
had no problems or errors at all, but i'll try the same method and see if that works ok
