quote by andresin69Question is...if supposed to arrived soon or later,here..OPUS?? whats the purpose,to dowload that old legacy ones??
thanks anyway,deci..you are the best

You sum it up pretty well.
Not clear why they are sharing the obsolete stuff instead of the latest versions but people are not stupid and they will just stop downloading since there are much better alternatives already available here.

I think they did it that way because with a relatively small download you are able to use the libs with play software first. This way you can start to use the libs.
Not everyone has a fast Internet connection. So the lesser DL size the better.
Its likely R2R or the other groups will deliver the Opus update content (from some Megabytes up to several Gigabytes) that builds on the Diamond libs as a second download and you can integrate it like an upgrade. Quite the same as works for Kontakt.

Is obvious to anyone who has the Opus edition, that you don't know what you are talking about. Is not "several gigabytes" of a potential future update to go from Play to Opus, is 130GB of new content, new scripts, tweaks, bug fixes, a completely new player. 130GB of new content is the equivalent of two Metropolis Ark libraries and you compare it with "several gigabytes". Mindblowing!

Daemonlover, I understand your point but you must already know that few trust East West for its known strategy of selling repackaged products with old samples, in addition to its few improvements in development, if I have tried them and the Opus version sounds good compared to the Play version, but there are definitely better options like Cinematics Studio, the new Sample Modeling chains, CineSamples, with clear differences in programming and more advanced development.

haha i guess 2-4TB M.2 SSD should be enough - otherwise loading takes very long.
If you want to supply something, you can. PM is open for that.

That'll take a while with the free download.

i get a feeling r2r are sharing their vaults as this is already outdated by a new engine?

This lib is at least ten years old.

Yes - The OPUS Engine. Some people think it sounds the same - It does not. It cannot access a lot that is script, pattern, MIDI and more - all editable. The microphone positioning in the diamond versions do not show as 'diamond' - They Show as OPUS unless they are not part of the OPUS Orchestra nd the Play engine cannot access it - NOR can it access the orchestrator as it simply will not work in the PLAY engine.

CInematic, Spitfire, Orchestral tools, etc... etc... and you all are bragging about something that has "Hollywood" in its name and xyz GB's in its size!? Imho these are not "The best sounding libraries" out there no matter the size and hype

P.S. They are released for free and that's what matters the most

We can say MSB is better than this library.

Probably..

More modern/advanced, and with some unique features.

However they are Different, and EWQLHO is one of the all time Classics.
So it's good to have it as a Reference, or Alternative..

Sometimes one library may be more fitting than another, for whatever reason,
regardless if it's newer/older, more/less featured.

So it's good to have it if only for that reason..

-Then if the Opus updates ever get released,
the libraries could gain some good extra features of their own,
and be polished and brought to a more modern standard..

Holy crap these are legacy, most people are better off with orchestral tools or spitfire for kontakt. Weird why they just didnt go to crack opus first

Just to throw it out there... if you're concerned about space the East West Symphonic Orchestra Platinum for Kontakt sounds really good and may be something you want to check out. 83.4 GB for everything.

Damn i just can't believe my eyes : People complaining why they don't get the latest stuff!! really?? Did we reach that level?
Simple as that : the groups crack/provide WHATEVER they want! If it doesn't suits you, pass on...
Now if you want a more democratic discussion : let's say we agree that the OPUS version is faster, better, harder... and you are not satisfied with the offered (free) library to download cause it's old/legacy, what are you trying to tell us at the end?
I see you're spreading an opinion about all latest posted EW libraries by trying to tell us : do not download !
I really start to think you're a bot, programmed by EW...but I accept your opinion , which is of no consequence at all...

Peace
