Get ready to have your mind (and ears) blown. AmpliTube 4, a major upgrade to the world’s most powerful guitar and bass tone studio for Mac/PC, is here and will take you to a level of hyper-realism and customization of tone you never knew possible.

AmpliTube 4 is a guitar and bass tone studio for Mac/PC that works as a standalone application and as a plug-in for your favorite DAW. AmpliTube recreates the entire guitar/bass signal chain from instrument to recording device, and does so in a very realistic and intuitive way. But it also does it in ways you never dreamed possible.

If you’re new to using computers to get fabulous guitar tone, then you’re in for a treat. If you’re a veteran computer tone-master, well, you’re still in for a treat. AmpliTube pioneered — and leads the way in — guitar amp and effects modeling, and AmpliTube 4 takes it to the outer edges of extreme hyper realism with intuitive familiar tools.

Works fine on Sierra, but I'm getting some glitches/dropouts with the Dime presets (usually towards the ends of sustained notes). With 4.7.0, I noticed the same thing on the Slash presets, and now, the Slash presets are working great. Turning off all the high-end modeling in the plug's prefs doesn't seem to fix it, and I know it isn't a RAM, CPU, OS, interface or even hard drive issue (all of which are way above system requirements), so I have no idea what it could be. It doesn't seem to be an issue anybody else is having on IK's forums, so I'm guessing it's a user-side error.

(Update: after checking all of my AmpliTube 4 presets, it seems to affect several other presets across the board, but almost all of the Dimebag CFH presets. It somehow seems to be tied in with the spring reverb and the "real" room sounds -- if I switch them over to "digital", the glitches go almost completely away)

I'm pretty sure that nobody realized that on the new Dimebag JC120, the chorus and the vibrato are not working!

Indeed @Iggy I am experiencing the same issue.
On certain presets I can here some "clicks" that were not present on the previous versions.
I haven't still figured out jet on what it is related.
*If someone is investigating, here some basic info:
ASUS p8z77-v Pro / 3770k slightly overclocked to 4.3 / C states disabled / 32 Gb DDR3 / old ews88MT-D PCI Asio card / buffer 64 - 96.000 / Nvidia GTX 9700 4 Gb OC
System tested and stable - very clean Win 7x64 stripped of everything - no internet - no TSR programs except the Nvidia CC

Anyway, compliments to IK, great UI and great sound

Thanks @funtime for uploading!

Which presets exactly? I could do a test on my side if you tell me.

Hello Olymoon, nice to see you !

The new Dimebag presets are the ones.
But I noticed also the same thing on some Fender Amps.

Anyway, I tried rising the buffer of my audio interface from 32 to 128 and that solves the problem.
But I can confirm that Amplitube (the older versions - all of them) was running without a problem on a 32 buffer size, so I suspect that IK made some changes that require a better system than the one I am running.

Thanks for the reply mate, always a pleasure chatting with You

Rhodes.

I was finally able to load AmpliTube 4.8 up in a program that allowed me to increase the audio buffer size and that, like in your case, fixed the problem. In my case, I was already running 512 and bumped it up to 1048, which no other audio software I own has ever needed. It seems like just those presets require extra buffer for some reason.

if you running buffer size 1048 on real time recording I guess latency gonna be a real problem

OK, I'll try these in my system and get back with infos.

I think it's an issue with some of the IRs that were included with v4.8.0. Like I said in my previous post, I had the same problem with the Slash presets in v4.7.0 -- those work fine in v4.8.0, but the Dimebag presets (and a few others across the board) glitch a bit, especially on sustained notes. I haven't really tried it in a DAW yet, where I can mess with the buffer sizes or see if they work okay in pre-gen mode, but I have a testing program where I can just load up a VI and effects for live play, and that's usually a good indicator for how it'll work in the rest of my software. Turning off the "real" spring reverb and the IR cab rooms and switching them to digital fixes the problem, but since my computer is waaaaaay over the system requirements and I'm not seeing any CPU spikes, I imagine there's something about those specific IRs that are causing problems (and not for everybody).

I've been trying all the Dimebag Darrel presets, there was no problem for me with them.

The conditions where like this:

i7 [email protected] Ghz (old) 12GB ram.
Win7sp1 x64
Reaper x64
Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 @ 48Khz, buffer 3.0 ms

I forgot to mention... the problem is present in Standalone mode, not in a DAW

I'll try Standalone then...

is 3ms overall latency figures in your DAW? If so I guess you running on buffer size 32
  Member 31.03.2015 105

Yes, about 7 ms is with the buffer of 64

In a daw, there is no problem, but as standalone, wizh a buffer of 64, I can here some pops and glitches

Hi, in Mac high Sierra I get the presets and ams in standalone mode but not in the DAW. Does someone know why?
