Nice workaround Peghead!
Had a feeling there was one, considering how the software operated once I tried it out but was too damn lazy to put on my thinking cap.

At least we can get a somewhat better idea how this sounds.
Albeit it's not the proper axis source, it'll definitely do for a better try.
Thanks for using the old noggin there mate.

I have a sterling mic ST66. Will it work with it?

Hey peghead, interesting concept in trying to recreate the two capsules but wouldn't results vary widely depending on what mic you used? When you say "it works", do you mean the results are pleasing or have you actually captured the sound of the modeled mic. What mic are you using by the way?

"It works" means just that.. that it works. If you feed a mono signal to the plugin it will simply not work at all, meaning it will warn you that it needs a dual signal to work. And yes, I had "pleasing" results, as you suggested, testing a mono acoustic guitar recording using one SE 1a. Quite an extreme test considering the mics emulations in the plugins are mainly intended for vocals... yet after a little tweak I've found 1 mic emulation which really improved on the sound with more presence and clarity.

Ok cool, thanks for the explanation...very interesting! I was wondering why the stereo signal of the test vocals were not the same volume, makes sense now, thanks

In a youtube video, we can see a test of sphere with the original l22 mic, and we can see that one capsulel is the front of the mic and the other is the rear, if you have two of the same condenser mics, placed together, in cardiod position, one toward the front and one to the rear, i think it will work good, just an idea, not have the time to test it yet...

Tried to do the workaround for real time tracking.
I'm getting kind of a funky looking polar pattern and sound.
LOL I'll work on it later.

It works with Shure PG58 Mic. I just add a stereo channel on Mixbus. That's it.
