Previous version "worked" but it used so much CPU time as to be effectively unusable -- for me in Ableton anyway. But it still wasn't as bad as opsix.

Havent even try to download it because i suspected that the cpu will be superhuge . All that emulations , korg , roland etc think you have 3 cpus in parallel hahaha ...

So I've been running it in Ableton 11 on Windows 7. It's a vast improvement over the earlier version. I can run a single instance without any problems -- using multiple layers, so a perc layer, an arpeggio and a melody. But it uses between 20% and 50% of my CPU -- sometimes even more. But at least it doesn't crash Ableton any more.

I just installed over the earlier version. No probs.

Low standards? Most softsynths sound trash, and frankly digital synths in general sound crap (even hardware). I've got a Prophet 10 rev 4 here ... now THAT sounds 'really good'.

I already uninstalled it an op-six (and the air synths) trash trash trash.. the only soft synth recently released that sounded in anyway 'good' was G-Force OB-E... and even that sounds bad vs real analog.

Indeed. I've got 5 hardware samplers/synths and really use them only when "things become serious". I don't really hear any difference any more. In the early 00's it was obvious, but since a decade ago things started to change. I find all these Krog and Ronald VST synths incredibly useful and use hardware less. Hell, it seems they finally realised that people could be thinking that way, too. Took them only 2 decades.

Man, just try that DSP56300 VST for instance. They used to sell Virus C for a crazy amount of money and now you can play with it for free, or even better donate some dosh to these blokes cos they really deserve it.

Digital is the new analogue. Kinda.

Got a hardware Wavestate here and it's bloody brilliant, the software version is almost identical to the hardware obviously there are differences depending on what your playing it through interface-wise, only downside is no funds left for presets...hint to anyone reading this ;) lol
