When you start the install, you get three options:
1. New install which erases your user programs.
2. Update of 1.0.1 which keeps your user programs.
3. Reinstall of just the samples and programs without updating 1.0.1.

I chose the 2nd option and my Wavestate was updated in less than a minute. Works fine, too. As far as better CPU load, I couldn't tell because 1.0.1 didn't bring my Ryzen laptop to its knees like, say, Massive X, Chromaphone 3 or Pigments 3.5.

Ah i must have choosed the same option without even thinking about it
As i have all wavetables on a secondary harddrive i did that after i installed the previouse version and i created a symlink to the destination folder = C:\Public\Documents\KORG\wavestate native and the symlink was still there and some of the files in the secondary drive was updated.

Downloading now.. if this is like the other Korg VSTi's I have, then it will sound great. I also have Korg hardware- do I hear a difference? Not really!

I'm running on a six-core Intel Core i7 processor on my MSI gaming laptop, so I don't anticipate any CPU issues. All my other Korg stuff works great on it.
Rock and Roll is not dead. It has simply evolved and metamorphosed over the years. Anyone who claims Rock and Roll is dead is deluding themselves.

According to a member of the Waqvestate Native development team: "We're aware of reports of high CPU usage on some systems, particularly when idle (even though the per-voice CPU usage is low). Without going into too much detail, this appears to be caused by the way that some combinations of operating systems and processors handle multi-threading. We're currently testing a fix for this (along with a few other user-reported issues), and if all goes well we hope to release another update soon."

Wavestate Native has a unique way of loading and storing user presets, and I'm sure it's tied in with the machine's complex sequencing architecture. In any case, on Windows, it's files are located at Windows (C) > Users > Public > Public Documents > KORG > wavestate native > System > Internal. You won't find your user programs, though. Their Sample Builder incorporates them into their own files.

Mr Prophet man, I will agree all those AIR plugins sound terrible, digital and thin and that's with so many effects on them, like modern car bodies less than a millimetre thin.

I've tested it and it can be me but there is hardly any volume in this synth. Even if I crank up all the volume sliders I can find there is no balance to other instruments in an Ableton project.
If anybody knows what could be the problem I'd love to read it. For now deleted

Search for "KORG.Software.Pass.v1.1.10.macOS.Incl.Keygen-R2R" on this site, download it and install that prior to installing Wavestate.

This synth remind me Air Xpand2, exceot last sounds a bit cheesy.
Korg sounds really nice but process usage really huge.

Just a bit curious but are there any preset banks or expansions for this synth? It has over 200 presets but I'm just curious if there are more? (I'm used to omnipshere and other synths with insanely large libs)

Tested in standalone, vst3 in Studio One 5 and Samplitude (windows 10 x64): cpu usage around 10% (not cpu eater). Cubase 12 (R2R) does not detect vst3 plugin.

After updating wavestate I had also had no presets and it made no sound (though the test sound in settings did work).

Letting the app download the factory database fixed the problem.
