The Firechild includes 4 models of the Vari-Mu Compressor ranging from Tube Versions (A/B/C) to a transparent version accurately sampled and emulated from the originals of the 1950s.

Since BlackQ V2, Tone Empire have really beefed up thier DSP algorithms and do infact sound quite analog to my ears - and so does this plug!

BlackQ is great. I dont get the hate this dev is getting, their tape plugin is also nice.
For me, the only 670 benchmark is Overloud Comp670, i will test it against that.

After some quick testing this one pumps a bit more in an unnatural way, but still sounds very good. EDM/POP people will dig it.

UAD is the best IMO but I definitely can't use many across the mix without buying a satellite, so I tend to use UAD Stuff for recording, vocals and mix bus only. I think IK has one, the Slate one is way to bright IMO, but a really great cheap one is Klanghelm MJUC and it has 3 completely different models in it which are all amazing. One of my go to plugins for only 20€

I have tried them all except the UAD and Overloud is the one. the LA mode is fat with lots of weight and tasty saturation, you can feel and hear the weight being pushed.

Firechild is missing the fatness of the overloud, great comp for sure but not fat like fairchild, too little bottom end and pumps too much for a fairchild.
Slate would be great but adds too much mids.

Come here just to try the software and buy it afterwards.
If I don't like the software I will just DELETE it.

Aliasing, schmerialsing, the Overloud is killer. Maybe this one is too.

I presume you have installed it in custom location. The patched VST3 file will be automatically installed at C:\program files\common files\VST3 just copy the Firechild.VST3 file and manually replace the original VST3.

The patch is working fine here.

The patch is working fine here.

I ran the included patch setup.exe which replaced the original vst3 in the correct path. Anyway R2R just did it!

Great Compressor... installed on Win 10 and working perfect on reaper. The presets are simply amazing, something good to purchase for a studio.
