Pianoteq PRO is the ultimate product for professional composers and recording studios, and has proved to be an indispensable tool in many recording projects - from movie soundtracks and tv commercials to the latest hit songs.

By being physically modelled, Pianoteq PRO brings you an extremely sophisticated tool for sound shaping and instrument creation, letting you create your own unique sounds that will enrich your projects. The PRO version works with internal sample rates up to 192 Khz. By using its powerful Note Edit feature, you are able to adjust physical parameters for specific ranges, and even note by note. You can also turn any Pianoteq instrument into a multi-instrument by using advanced keyboard splits for up to 105 notes (concerns instruments with extended octave range).

The note editor is designed so that you can work with it effectively - it saves you time and increases your creativity. On top of this, its spectrum profile editor lets you adjust each overtone for each note, bringing you thousands of sound combinations that will help you finding your own unique instrument.

Just an FYI. I use Pianoteq Stage 6, (not Pro ...Yet), and added the all of the invisible presets. They all work except for the C. Bechstein, which requires Pro. Thought that might be useful for those only using Stage.

And now, thanks to Dima, it's Pro time ...Big Thank You

I wasn't going to start some s*** by pointing that out but, spot-on, Oly.
I'm not saying that they're not grateful, but it's crazy, to me, the need for something slightly better (or, at least, newer,) every two minutes.
I've become a consummate professional over the years when it comes to working with what I have.

Thank you. Some people were talking about a "unable to create the directory" error they had in the last release. Has that been fixed?

Thanks a lot Dima
This appz is incredibly good, the pianos, the Bells, the harpsichord are amazing.
And 130mb weight... These guys are so smart.

Don"t forget, to use the free instruments provided in this release you have to search for
in the GUI box. ex: Blanchet or Grimaldi for harpsichord....

Merci Dima

haha stryves said before i could. 20 minutes? pfftt ... i can do that in under a minute flat
@ Olymoon i think linoventura is talking about this folder C:\Users\... ...\AppData\Roaming\Modartt\Pianoteq\Addons
its different than the Pianoteq\presets folder.
i dragged them onto the GUI and it said i now had more, but there were already so many presets i couldnt say for sure.

what i have to get used to with the pianoteq preset guide is paying attention to both the top and bottom filters. you can be double filtering. if you seem to not have many/any when selecting one filter, check that the other is set to all

Yes, I've seen this folder, but the only thing I see there are these files:
bells.ptq
K1.ptq
KIViR.ptq
KPRAUSCH.ptq
V3.ptq

So it does not give a list of "hidden" presets.

those are the only thing i found, i dragged them onto GUI. but i wish i had checked how many presets there were before i did that

That is very interesting for me from a technical point of view: How can a buggy feature like this be correct in a new revision? Reverse engineering?
@Dima22839, maybe you can shed some light into this?

Thank you for your hard work.

Yeah Pianoteq's sound has been controversial amongst piano players. I personally don't like it either all that much. Ravenscroft is iLok so we can wait for a very long time. Thankfully there's a bunch of Kontakt pianos that sound great. But PIanoteq beats them all when it comes to the feeling when you play it live.

"but there's a difference between a 50mb vst and a 5gb one"

Really you comparing the size? Then you didn't get what the difference is.

There is no need for 5 gigs of data when the software emulates the real thing via physical modelling instead of using samples. Most piano vsts are samplers, pianoteq is actually a (very special) synthesizer. Audio files are big, programming code is small. It's simple as that. You can't tell anything about the sound on that base. And the sound is incredibly good. Just listen to real piano players using this software (for example Phil Best on youtube). Honestly: I can't hear any difference to a real piano (at least with the better presets). I think you may be biased. Or you tested earlier versions of Pianoteq, which didn't sound that good.

Anyway: It's a very impressive piece of software. Thanks for sharing!

My first instruments were not instruments. Of them, my fav was PVC pipe drums combined with whatever container my dad could find.

Majority of my drum samples come from PVC pipes. They are not drums. Are they synthetic? Do they sound like drums?

Doesn't matter in the least.

Find out how to use any tool to make music and synthetic is just another word for snob.
